Former WWE World Champion Trashes AEW Dynamite

It’s not for him? The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works. For the first time in over two decades, another promotion is getting national air time on a large television network. This is the kind of thing that can open up a lot more spots for several other wrestlers and a lot of them have already come to AEW. However, that does not seem likely for one of them. Earlier this week, former WWE Universal Champion Adam Scherr (formerly known as Braun Strowman) replied to a fan tweeting that watching Monday Night Raw would be a punishment. Scherr said that “Dynamite would be far worse punishment”, suggesting that he will not be signing with AEW anytime soon. Scherr held discussions about coming in to AEW back in October 2021 but no deal was ever reached. He has since been appearing with Control Your Narrative. Wardlow’s AEW Future Seems To Have Changed A Bit, MJF Responds

I think he’ll be ok. AEW has quite the collection of talent throughout its roster, with several different kinds of wrestlers included. This allows them to have a variety of matches, some of which can be different than their norm. However, that might not be the case for the time being, as one wrestler’s roster status has been changed thanks to a certain less than happy boss. Last week on AEW Dynamite, Wardlow requested that Maxwell Jacob Friedman release him from his contract, freeing him to do whatever he wanted. This week, Friedman turned down the request and promised to make Wardlow life a nightmare. As a result, Wardlow’s profile has been removed from AEW’s website as part of the storyline. AEW Stars Mock WWE For Complaints About Violent Content

And now, the response. WWE and AEW have been rivals since the latter came into existence three years ago. AEW certainly has caught fire since then, with the company going from barely existing to the second biggest promotion in the world today. Both companies present themselves in different ways, and it seems WWE does not care for AEW’s style. Now it is time for AEW to fight back. Earlier this week, the Toronto Star published an article comparing the two companies. WWE sent in a statement for the article, criticizing AEW’s violent content while promoting its own family friendly content. The statement included a reference to a No DQ match between Tay Conti/Anna Jay vs. the Bunny/Penelope Ford, in which all four bled.
