Let the planning begin. Today WWE announced that Wrestlemania 40 will take place on April 6 and 7, 2024 at Lincoln Field in Philadelphia. The announcement was made by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau and PHL Sports. According to a report from Cageside Seats, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics said on Busted Open Radio that longtime WWE producer Kevin Dunn will most likely be finished with the company. This comes after the announcement that Vince McMahon was retiring and on his way out of WWE. Thurston said that he has heard that Dunn and new Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon “don’t like each other,” while Wade Keller of PWTorch states that Dunn is not a “Triple H guy.” Keller thinks that Dunn will be out “about a year from now.” Dunn has been employed by WWE for almost 40 years and has grown from Associate Producer to Executive Producer & Chief, Global Television Distribution. Over the weekend, Vince McMahon announced that he was retiring after over 40 years of being in charge of World Wrestling Entertainment. The man who made WWE a global brand and revolutionized the term “sports entertainment” has decided to step down from the empire that he created. Whenever something like this occurs, and a person of this magnitude takes himself out of the equation, the first thing that many people immediately do is reflect on his life. Investing in the future. WWE has more money than they know what to do with and they continue to bring in even more money every single year. They know how to make money like no other wrestling promotion and there is a chance that will continue for a long time to come. The company does have to think about its future though and that is what they are planning on soon. WWE held its first quarter financial conference call this week and according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, the company announced plans to expand its Performance Centers. There is no word on how or when these processes will begin. In addition, the idea of adding new Performance Centers internationally is currently on hold, with no idea of when the project could continue. WWE claim they're looking at expanding and improving on their Performance Centers. If that is not a possible option, the second best option is to get people to see the shows from home. That might not be the easiest thing at times, but now WWE has some news that is going to make things a bit easier. WWE has announced a new broadcasting agreement with the MBC Group, which will allow their programming to be shown in northern Africa and the Middle East. The deal will include broadcasts of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, plus all premium live events. Events will air on Saudi Arabia’s Shahid streaming service, which will also offer over 10,000 hours of WWE content. The content will be available later this month. WWE Releases Another Backstage Name In Shot At Triple H

The changes continue. We are in the middle of a huge shakeup backstage in WWE and that has caused some of the most notable series of changes throughout the company. A lot of this seems to stem from WWE wanting to get away from the Triple H period, which has seen several of Triple H’s favorites eliminated from WWE. It turns out that WWE is still not done with the changes. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has fired Lisette Pineda, the Manager of Global Talent Strategy & Developmental. Pineda was a close ally of Triple H and was described as his “top executive assistant”. Since Triple H has been out of action recovering from his cardiac event last fall, Pineda has been working in a limited role in WWE and her departure was expected. Pineda had been working for WWE since 2020. This is also seen as a possible sign that Triple H will not be returning to a full time role for a long time to come.
