No Chance: Here Is What Vince McMahon Was “Vehemently Against” In WWE Contracts

There’s more to it. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and sometimes the company has to let some of them go. Occasionally WWE will release some wrestlers from their contracts and turn them into free agents, which is the kind of thing that can devastate some wrestlers. That was the case again this week, and now we know some more about one of the wrestlers, including from said wrestler himself. WWE released five wrestlers from their NXT contracts this week, including Bodie Hayward. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Hayward was described as “a handful”, though it is not clear that that entails. Hayward was involved in the Chase University story and it was not something as simple as dropping a wrestler in the middle of a storyline. They caught some attention. There are a lot of talented wrestling stars in the world today and several of them don’t work for WWE or AEW. A lot of those stars are free agents who can be signed to any company. It can be a game changer to bring them in and that might be what WWE is getting ready to do, as they have interest in at least one freshly free agent star. It opens up several doors as fans are left wondering who is going where and what they might do when they get to their next destination. The show isn’t over. There are a lot of different ways to present a wrestling feud and some of them are more effective than others. One of the best ways is to create a personal issue between two people, which is the direction several feuds take. That is the case with one of the more prominent issues WWE is presenting at the moment and that was obvious after Monday Night Raw went off the air. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Riddle defeating Damian Priest. WWE has posted a video to Twitter, showing Seth Rollins coming out after the show to brawl with Rollins, with referees and agents separating them. Backstage News On Triple H’s Plans For WWE Roster

It’s time to shake things up again, but this time in a very different way. A new report from Fightful Select outlines some of the plans for the WWE roster now that Triple H has taken over for Vince McMahon and is now EVP of Talent Relations. According to the report, Triple H is just getting started, and a “feeling-out process” has taken place regarding talk of reshaping the roster. This includes adding more depth in the form of past WWE talent that has either been released or didn’t re-sign with the company. This concept began to unfold during this week’s WWE programming, as Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Karrion Kross and Scarlett all returned to the company. Hold On: Ring Of Honor Wrestlers’ Contract Statuses Are A Bit Complicated

There isn’t room for everyone. AEW already has more wrestlers than it can handle as they only have so much television time available. At some point, the company has to figure out who can make an appearance here and there. That is harder than it seems, but then Ring Of Honor being added to AEW TV made things even more complicated. Now though, we might have a bit of a reprieve. According to Fightful Select, not everyone who appeared on last weekend’s Death Before Dishonor pay per view is signed to a contract, either long term or on a tiered deal. Several stars who appeared on the show are still free agents. Josh Woods, who appeared at Death Before Dishonor, also appeared on this week’s Dynamite and is signed to AEW on a tiered contract. It’s a special occasion. Wrestlers have a lot to cover on a weekly basis. Between going from town to town and show to show, there is only so much free or leisure time to be had. That can make a variety of things difficult, but sometimes even the busiest wrestlers can find time to do something they want. Such a thing took place this weekend and it was a very important moment. Former WWE wrestlers Keith lee and Mia Yim were married over the weekend. Fellow former WWE star Tegan Nox posted photos online, showing the two both at their wedding and their reception. The two have been engaged since February 11, 2021. Both Lee and Yim were released from their WWE contracts in November 2021. You Might Be Seeing Some Released WWE Names Again Soon

See you soon. Over the last year and a half, WWE has released a ton of wrestlers from the company. That is the kind of change that you do not see happen very often in wrestling and unfortunately it cost a lot of people their jobs. While it certainly changes how WWE works, it also changes how other promotions work as well. Now, some of those promotions are able to pick up more than a few new wrestlers as a result. On November 2, 2021, WWE released several wrestlers from their contracts. These wrestlers were on 90 day no compete clauses, which have now expired as of February 2. Multiple Injuries Take Place During This Week’s NXT

Those are some nasty situations. There are a lot of ways to write someone out of action on a wrestling show and some of them are more effective than others. Perhaps the most effective is to have someone get injured, as not only does it get someone off of television, but it also puts heat on the person who did it. This week, that was the case in two different situations. There were two wrestlers written off of NXT television this week due to injuries. First up, Cora Jade was attacked by Mandy Rose following Jade’s win over Dakota Kai. Rose re-injured Jade’s arm, resulting in undisclosed injuries. Also during the show, Harland made his in-ring debut and after the match, attacked various agents and referees. This included agent Brian Kendrick, who suffered a possible cervical fracture. The wrestling world really has changed in the last few years and those changes continued this year with what seems to be the demise of at least the current version of Ring of Honor. You don’t see that kind of change very often in wrestling, and in this case it opened up the question of what would happen to the Ring of Honor roster. Now we might have a better idea. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ring of Honor’s Matt Taven and Jonathan Gresham were both backstage at this week’s AEW Dynamite taping. Welcome to the team! There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster, as the company has put together a heck of a lineup. One of the most important things has been the fact that wrestlers now have another place to go. It means that wrestlers have been able to go somewhere else rather than just WWE. One day some of those AEW wrestlers are going to be free agents, but WWE might not be interested in one of their top stars. Earlier this month, AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman mentioned that he will be a free agent in 2024 and promised to start a bidding war. We aren’t done yet. The WWE Draft has come and gone for the year and it was certainly an eventful pair of nights. There were dozens of moves made with wrestlers jumping from show to show. At the same time though, there were some wrestlers who stayed on the shows they have been on for months now. Welcome to the fold. There are so many talented wrestlers on the free agent market today that it is hard to fathom. You have a lot of talented wrestlers in WWE and AEW but there are far more names outside of the two major promotions. That makes for some interesting situations as you never know when someone might pop up elsewhere. Now we have some more names available on the free agent market. Several names were released from WWE back in June, meaning that they would be under ninety day no compete clauses. Those clauses have since expired, meaning that main roster wrestlers released from the company are now free agents who are allowed to sign anywhere they like. These names include Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese, Fandango, Tyler Breeze, the Bollywood Boyz, Marina Shafir and Killian Dain.
