Update on Nikki & Brie Garcia’s Wrestling Future

It came from the source. It had been previously reported that the Bella Twins were officially leaving WWE for good and had rebranded themselves as Nikki and Brie Garcia. One of the main questions that has risen is the wrestling future, particularly when it comes to AEW. That question was answered today on Instagram Live, where Nikki confirmed that her and her sister would not be going to AEW. You can see a clip of that below: Nikki and Brie Garcia are not going to AEW. pic.twitter.com/PkzCosyUER — Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) March 15, 2023 Garcia also mentioned that there was fan speculation that things have soured between both them and WWE. She said it seems that way because of “everything in the past” but there are no hard feelings. Editor’s Opinion: I’ll take the Garcias at their word, as they have absolutely no reason to taint their legacy by going to AEW. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if Tony Khan threw a bunch of money at them to get a major pop for one nig..

The Bella Twins Leaving WWE, Announce Name Change

Time to move on. Nikki and Brie Bella announced on their Sirius XM show, The Nikki & Brie Show, that they are officially leaving WWE and will now be known as ‘The Garcia Twins’. They also posted the following video on Twitter: Hi I’m Nikki Garcia, Hi I’m Brie Garcia. And we’re the Garcia Twins. ???? Welcome to our next chapter! ?????????????? pic.twitter.com/w6GQM0P7Zi — Nikki & Brie (@NikkiAndBrie) March 14, 2023 From People Magazine, who exclusively broke the story: Nikki further explained that dropping their Bella identities was difficult, but the women feel it’s time to embrace a “new chapter” in their lives. “We’re going to be 40 in November,” Nikki explains, adding that they’re both now enjoying life as mothers, entrepreneurs, hosts, and executive producers. When it was time for them to renew their contract with the WWE, Nikki explains that they “just knew it was time to head into this next chapter.” Brie adds she’s “so excited to close the chapter on Brie Bella” and open ..

AEW Dynamite Results – January 25, 2023

Dynamite Date: January 25, 2023 Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz This is going to be an emotional one as the main event will feature the Jay Briscoe Tribute match between Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal. If that’s not enough, we’re still on the way to Revolution and that means Bryan Danielson gets to wrestle again. This time he has to find a way around Brian Cage, which is quite the different opponent than he has had in recent weeks. Other than that, the Gunns and the Acclaimed are going to have family therapy, which could go in a few different ways. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Chris Jericho/Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti/Ricky Starks We are joined in the middle of Jericho’s entrance (including Daniel Garcia). Andretti and Guevara start things off and exchange some flips without being able to make a ton of contact. Andretti’s standing moonsault misses and they stare at each other for a bit. Guevara offers a handshake and th..

AEW Rampage Results – December 16, 2022

Rampage Date: December 16, 2022 Location: Curtis Culwell Center, Garland, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We’re almost done with the year and the interesting point here came from Tony Khan, who promised to put in some more effort on this show. I’m not sure what that is going to mean, but the card certainly does look to be a bit bigger than usual. That might not last beyond a week or two, but I’ll take what I can get. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara Tay Melo is here too. Guevara knees him in the face to start and bites away in the corner. That earns Guevara a clothesline to the floor as we see Daniel Garcia, now under Guevara’s tutelage, watching in the back. Moxley is happy with fighting outside and loads up a chair, only to be sent back inside. That’s fine with Moxley, who grabs a jumping cutter into a superplex for two. Guevara manages to backflip over him though and hits a dropkick out to the floor. A hard stomp on the apro..

Gold Day: Six New Champions Crowned Over Two Different Events

Hand them over. Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling. They represent the best and often most talented stars in the promotion and are often the main focal points. It can mean a lot when a title changes hands and there are nights when several of them change hands during the same show. That was the case this weekend, with a special double shot. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Better Than Nothing? Tony Khan Announces Upcoming Weekly Ring Of Honor Series There were two major events held on Saturday, with Ring Of Honor Final Battle and NXT Deadline. Between the two shows, there were eight title matches with six title changes. The following titles changed hands at Final Battle: • Athena defeated Mercedes Martinez to win the Women’s Title • The Embassy defeated Dalton Castle and the Boys to win the Six Man Tag Team Titles • Wheeler Yuta defeated Daniel Garcia to win the Pure Title • The Briscoes defeated FTR in a Double Dog Collar match to win the Tag Team Titles • Claud..

AEW Dynamite Results – October 26, 2022

Dynamite Date: October 26, 2022 Location: Chartway Arena, Norfolk, Virginia Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Tony Schiavone We’re well on our way to Full Gear and now it seems that we have a World Title main event. Last week saw MJF announce that he will be cashing in his chip at Full Gear, though the question is who he will be challenging. This week, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will be defending against Penta El Cero Miedo. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Chris Jericho/Daniel Garcia vs. Wheeler Yuta/Claudio Castagnoli The rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society is here too. Castagnoli takes Jericho down to start before handing it off to Yuta to armbar Garcia. Everything breaks down for a bit and it’s Garcia being sent into the post on the floor. A Hager distraction lets Jericho get in a cheap shot to Castagnoli though and we take a break. Back with Castagnoli fighting out of a chinlock but Jericho knocks Yuta off the apron. Castagnoli knocks Jericho away and brings in Yuta as e..

AEW Dynamite Results – October 5, 2022

Dynamite Date: October 5, 2022 Location: Entertainment And Sports Center, Washington DC Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz It’s the third anniversary of Dynamite and you know that means we are going to be seeing something special. In this case we have a big tag match main event as Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara are facing Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia. As a bonus, the show is an extra fifteen minutes long tonight so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Wheeler Yuta vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman William Regal is on commentary and doesn’t think much of MJF, even if the fans seem to like him. Wheeler sends him into the corner to start and we hit the Fargo Strut for some old school flare. A dropkick just annoys MJF so he takes Yuta down and grabs a chinlock. Back up and MJF grabs a tilt-a-whirl faceplant as we take a break. Back with Yuta whipping him hard into the corner and grabbing a small package for two. Yuta grabs some rolling German suplex for two but his hurricanrana ..

WATCH: The Rock Producing New Wrestling Documentary Series (TRAILER)

That’s a new twist. Wrestling media has been changing a lot in recent years as more and more stories have been presented in one way or another. This has come in the form of books, films and television series, many of which are telling stories that have not been heard in a long time. Now we are in for another one which certainly sounds like it has some promise. According to Variety, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions will be producing a new wrestling documentary series called Tales From The Territories. The series will be from the same team that made Dark Side Of The Ring and will focus on stories from the territory days of wrestling. There is no word on what any episodes will cover. YES! Good News On Bryan Danielson’s In-Ring Status

That could have been a lot worse. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them are a lot worse than others. You never know what kind of action can put someone on the shelf for a very long time and the waiting is one of the worst things about the entire situation. That was the case with a top AEW star but now we have some good news about his health. AEW’s Bryan Danielson was injured during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double Or Nothing, reportedly suffering a concussion. This is the latest in a long series of concussions for Danielson, who missed years of his career as a result of the injuries. However, this week at Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor, Danielson’s return to the ring was announced for the July 27 edition of Dynamite, where he will face Daniel Garcia. This will be Danielson’s first match May 29. Opinion: That is quite the relief as you never want to see someone on the shelf, but it can be even worse when they have a history of injuries ..

WATCH: AEW Star Injured During Blood & Guts (This Is A Bit Nasty)

It can happen to anyone. Injuries are something that are a possibility in any match you see in wrestling. That is not a good thing but there is no way to guarantee complete safety. Sometimes things happen no matter what you do and it can be made even worse if a match is especially dangerous. That was the case again this week and someone got hurt, though it wasn’t even in an especially dangerous moment. AEW held its second Blood & Guts match this week on Dynamite, featuring two teams of six wrestlers each. During the match, Santana injured his leg while suplexing Daniel Garcia and twisting his knee or ankle in the process. He was taken out of the match and did not return, including not appearing on the top of the cage as his teammates celebrated their win. There is no word on how long he might be out of action. This is a bit rough to watch. Check out where the injury occurred: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: My goodness AEW’s luck continues to be horrible as it’s ..

More Details On AEW’s Blood & Guts Match, To Be Bigger This Year

They have a plan for that. While Forbidden Door is coming up later this weekend, there is another major AEW event taking place in less than a week. That would be a special edition of Dynamite, featuring the second ever Blood & Guts match. The match is AEW’s version of the classic WarGames match and is extremely violent. Now we have a bit of an update on what to expect from the whole thing. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is expected to be six on six, an upgrade from last year’s five on five. The match is expected to feature Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker vs. Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Santana, Ortiz, Wheeler Yuta and a mystery partner. Yuta was always planned for the match and is the reason why Guevara was added to the other side. Opinion: That is quite a bit for a single match but at least they are going to have two rings to space things out a bit more. Blood & Guts is a match idea that has worked for..

AEW Dynamite Results – June 8, 2022

Dynamite Date: June 8, 2022 Location: Cable Dahmer Arena, Independence, Missouri Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross It’s time for things to get all the more interesting again as this week will include the first half of the process to find a new Interim AEW World Champion. That alone should fill in a good bit of the show, as we get a battle royal and then a Jon Moxley match in the show’s main event. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Casino Battle Royal This is the battle royal with four groups of wrestlers coming in at unspecified intervals before the Joker is the 21st entrant, with the winner facing Jon Moxley later tonight. We’ll start with the first group: Clubs: Eddie Kingston, Darby Allin, Tony Nese, Daniel Garcia, Lance Archer It’s a brawl to start with Archer and Allin being left alone early, though no one is eliminated. Archer shrugs off Allin’s skateboard shot and takes him into the corner so the Diamonds can come in: Diamonds: Ricky Starks, Jake Hager, Re..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 16: It’s All About The McMahons

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania XVI Date: April 2, 2000 Location: Arrowhead Pond, Anaheim, California Attendance: 19,776 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler This was one of the shows that tied for the most votes for a redo but I’ve seen Wrestlemania X, the other option, more times than I really need to and this sounded more interesting. It’s kind of an infamous Wrestlemania as there are no singles matches on the entire show but it is the biggest show of the year in the best year WWE has ever seen. Let’s get to it. Lilian Garcia si..

Longtime AEW Stable Breaks Up, New One Takes Its Place

It can’t last forever. There are a lot of stables in wrestling history and several of them have been nothing short of great. It can be an easy way to get multiple people onto a shot at once and offer a big story at the same time. Sometimes you get something very special, but there is almost always a split for the group as well. That was the case this week, with the biggest stable AEW has ever seen. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a segment between Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston which saw the two of them shaking hands. After the two shook hands, Daniel Garcia and 2.0 came to the ring to attack Kingston. Jericho’s Inner Circle teammates Santana and Ortiz came to the ring but were attacked by Jericho, who turned on the two of them to split up the team. Jake Hager joined Jericho, Garcia and 2.0, with Jericho dubbing the new team the Jericho Appreciation Society. The Inner Circle originally debuted on October 9, 2019, the second week of Dynamite. Opinion: This is a surprise,..

Three More Matches Set For AEW Revolution

It’s growing up. We are less than two weeks away from AEW Revolution and now it is time to start building up the card. The good thing is that AEW has a lot of pieces already set up and are just waiting to be made official. Sometimes those things can be done all at once and that seems to be the case this week as several matches were all put together on the same show. Three new matches were announced for AEW Revolution during this week’s edition of Dynamite. First up, Eddie Kingston challenged Chris Jericho to a grudge match, with Jericho accepting during a face to face meeting. Second, the AHFO, comprised of Andrade El Idolo, Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy have challenged Sting/Darby Allin/Sammy Guevara to a tornado tag match, which was confirmed later. Finally, after Bryan Danielson defeated Daniel Garcia in the main event, Jon Moxley came to the ring. Danielson agreed to face Moxley, who had challenged him to a match at Revolution. It's official: @MadKing1981 will face @IAmJerich..

VIDEO: Top Star Returns At AEW Dynamite, Teases New Feud

Welcome home. Wrestlers leaving a promotion can be a problem at times but they have no choice but to go away for one reason or another. Some of these are not as serious as others, as a wrestler might need to take care of something outside of the ring. Even if that is the case, their return can still be pretty special, which seemed to be the case during a return this week. Chris Jericho made his return during this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. Jericho ran in to clear out 2.0 and Daniel Garcia, who had defeated Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz. After the match, Garcia hit Santana in the face with the ring bell, drawing out Jericho for the save. Kingston did not care for Jericho’s actions and the two had to be separated. Jericho had been missing since the December 1 Dynamite due to going on tour with his band Fozzy. Jericho is a big deal in AEW. Check out the return and what he has done in the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to pl..

Tribute To The Troops 2021 Results

Tribute to the Troops 2021 Date: November 14, 2021 Location: Toyota Arena, Ontario, California Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee It’s time for the big patriotic show, which is actually taking place closer to Thanksgiving this time around instead of the usual Christmas season. This one is airing on FOX to make it feel even bigger, though it is just a one hour edition which was taped last month at Smackdown. In other words, they don’t seem to be putting in as much effort this year. Let’s get to it. Lilian Garcia sings the National Anthem. Video on the troops and what this show means to WWE. Big E. vs. Dolph Ziggler Non-title and commentary does give a brief recap of their history. Robert Roode is here with Ziggler and dig those red, white and blue ropes. Big E. powers out of a waistlock to start and sends Ziggler flying, setting up some gyrations. A kick to the ribs slows Big E. down and Ziggler gyrates a bit as well. That just earns him the abdominal stretch with rhythmic shots..

The Family Grows: AEW Announces A New Signing To The Company

Welcome to the family. With so many talented wrestlers in the world today, it can be hard for a lot of them to ever be able to get their big break. You do see it happen though and those moments can make for some of the best things in wrestling. Sometimes you see someone break through right before your eyes and that seems to be the case again with a very talented wrestler. AEW President Tony Khan has announced that Daniel Garcia has officially been signed to a contract with the company. Garcia has been wrestling with the company for several months now, including teaming with 2Point0, and has wrestled against Sting, Jon Moxley and CM Punk. Garcia has commented on the signing, saying that he wanted to wrestle for a company where he could make a difference and saying that he planned to be a part of AEW for a long time to come. This year @GarciaWrestling came into @AEW with a great reputation built through his hard work on the indies, & he’s continued to work hard here in #AEW + he’s show..

AEW Rampage Results – October 9, 2021

Rampage Date: October 8, 2021 Location: Licouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re still in front of one of the hottest crowds of the year and that should do a lot of good for the card. This is another stacked show as we have CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia, the Tag Team Titles on the line and the Brian Cage challenging Ricky Starks for the FTW Title in a street fight. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We start with Mark Henry’s split screen interview. Daniel Garcia and 2.0 say that CM Punk walked away from wrestling when the focus wasn’t all on him anymore but now he’s back to get the attention. Punk isn’t worried about that and is here to face Garcia because of his skill. Oh and 2.0 are like the Nasty Boys’ little brothers. CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia 2.0 is here with Garcia. Punk wins a test of strength to put Garcia down, setting up a crossarm choke. Back up and Punk sends him into the corner so Garcia slows things down a bit. A heel ..

AEW Changed This Week’s Dynamite For A Very Good Reason

I’d call that a valid excuse. There are all kinds of things taking place on a wrestling show at any given time and some of them are issues that people could go through every day. That is the case with wrestlers outside of the ring as well, as they go through a lot of the same things that regular people do as well. It certainly was true this week and in a very good way. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, 2.0 was not on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite because Matt Lee’s wife was giving birth. As a result, the show had to be changed at the last minute as 2.0 was scheduled to have a large role on the show. It is not clear what the original plans were or what was added as a result. 2.0 has been associated with Daniel Garcia, who attacked Darby Allin on the show. That’s great to hear. Check out 2.0 when they are around: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That’s one of the thin..
