Wrestling Legend Confirms She Is Retired From The Ring

It was great while it lasted. There have been countless wrestlers over the years but only a small handful of them reach legendary status. Those wrestlers are some of the greatest of all time and you will occasionally be lucky enough to see them in the ring after reaching such a high level. That is the case with a few names today, but one of them will not be getting back in the ring. Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer and former WWE Women’s Champion Gail Kim appeared on Busted Open Radio and confirmed that she will not be returning to the ring and is officially retired. Kim cited a variety of health reasons, including not wanting to risk her back or memory getting worse. Kim is currently a producer and on air authority figure for Impact Wrestling. Her final match took place at Rebellion 2019 against Tessa Blanchard. Opinion: If this is what Kim wants to do and she is happy with the decision, then good for her. She is someone who has had an absolute Hall of Fame career and has nothing left..

Former WWE/Impact Wrestling Star Announces Surprise Retirement

It was a strong career. There are certain wrestlers who make an impression on you just based on how they look. That can make for some special moments when you can find someone who can back it up in the ring. You know these wrestlers when you see them and they do not come along that often. That was the case with one in particular, though now she is hanging up her boots. This weekend at the NWA Empowerrr women’s event, Awesome Kong made a surprise appearance and announced that she was retiring from wrestling. Kong interrupted and attacked Taryn Terrell, Jennacide and Paola Blaze before her longtime rival Gail Kim appeared. Kong referred to King as her greatest rival and announced that she was done with wrestling. Her most recent match took place on January 1, 2020 during an episode of AEW Dark. Popular Impact Wrestling Star Becomes Free Agent

She might have some su-itors, like in Impact Wrestling. Women’s wrestling has come so far in the last few years that it is almost impossible to fathom. The days of women as novelty acts who go out there for the sake of being eye candy are long gone and that is the kind of thing that is going to help move wrestling forward. It has also opened the door for several women’s divisions who never had the chance before. Now one of the more talented wrestlers in the world could be up for grabs. The Impact Wrestling Knockouts division has been one of the high points of women’s wrestling before the WWE Women’s Revolution. Led by the likes of Gail Kim and Awesome Kong, the division was the first mainstream promotion to take women’s wrestling seriously. It is still a big deal in the promotion, but they may be about to lose one of their more unique talents. Su Yung wanted to be in Impact Wrestling since watching a Jeff Jarrett match. On May 31st, Su Yung will be challenging Allie for the Knockouts Championship on the Impact Wrestling event Under Pressure. Yung has not been wrestling for Impact Wrestling long as she started wrestling regularly for the promotion in January. Jeremy Borash revealed during a <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/media/" title="media">media</a> called on today that Gail Kim will be an <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/agent/" title="agent">agent</a> for Global Force Wrestling following her in-ring retirement.“This may be known but we are happy to have on <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/board/" title="board">board</a> as an agent for Impact Wrestling, who will be helping with our Knockouts, Gail Kim, who announced that she would be retiring at the end of this year,” said Borash. “So she’s going to be taking on a more behind-the-scenes role. Everybody may not know but Gail and I had a very strong friendship for the last decade. I obviously do stuff with her husband Robert Irvine, the chef. And she has an incredible mind and really somebody that’s going to take the Knockouts to the next level. So she’s in Orlando and Tampa training gals that you’re seeing.”Borash also mentioned that GFW has signed two new established female names but didn’t reveal any information on who exactly they are. Grado, Sutter, and Suicide win when Grado pins KM. Alberto asks Carlos what he is doing? They have been friends for a long time, but he said it was BS, he is not joining LAX. Konnan asks Alberto to join, not to forget what other places have done to him, he has to join them to have protection. Alberto says the company is doing great things, Carlos has just become a bitter man, Alberto doesn’t mind being a loner. Konnan says that they can start a Latin Revolution, Alberto says no, LAX attacks him. Lashley out, decimates LAX, save Alberto, and hands him the title before leaving.– Naomichi Marufuji vs Moose for The Grand Championship. EC3 hit Marufuji with the belt during round 3, he <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/tried/" title="tried">tried</a> to hit Moose after. No winner is announced.– Trevor Lee vs. William Weeks. Trevor comes out with the stolen X Division Title. After the match, Sonjay Dutt attacks Trevor.– Laurel Van Ness defeated Ava Storie. Grado and Joseph Park are out to talk to Laurel Van Ness. Grado has flowers and champagne. He introduces himself to Laurel, he says that she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Grado asks Laurel if they can go out, eat some food, get some drinks, and watch some movies. Then suggests #netflixandchill. Before Laurel can answer Kongo Kong comes out and scares off Grado and Joseph Park.– Lashley & Alberto defeat LAX, this was a non title match. Alberto says they make a damn good team to Lashley. LAX attacks Alberto, this time Lashley leaves Alberto to get beat down.– Drago defeats Sammy Guevara.– Sienna defeats Amber Nova in a non title match. After the match, Allie comes out and attacks Sienna with a kendo stick, Laurel comes out to Sienna’s aid, Rosemary Sienna. Gail Kim comes out. Gail removes Sienna and Laurel, Karen says next week it will be Rosemary vs Sienna for the title in a last KO standing match.– Garza Jr, Laredo Kid, & Octagoncito vs Trevor Lee, Idris Abraham, and Demus 3:16.– Sydal pins Low Ki to win the 3 way. Sydal says <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/trust/" title="trust">trust</a> yourself and question authority, <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/calls/" title="calls">calls</a> out Bruce Prichard. Bruce says he’s sick of tired of guys demanding spots, Sydal descended a title shot but so do other guys, out comes Lashley. Lashley says he is the only one who deserves a world title shot, Sydal says nobody wants to hear it from Lashley. Lashley says he’s telling Bruce to give him that title shot, he then spears Sydal and says that is only a start.– These muscle dudes jumped out of the crowd and attacked Eli Drake and Chris Adonis.– Eddie Edwards vs Moose vs EC3 vs Eli Drake. Eli Drake steals the pin on Eddie Edwards after Moose pulls EC3 out of the ring.– LAX comes out attacking Dos Caras and El Hijo De Dos Caras, tells Alberto there are consequences. Konnan threatens to take off Dos Caras’s mask, Alberto out and says Carlos has taken this too far and to stop this nonsense. Konnan asks if he’s ready to join, Alberto says he will destroy them if he touches his dad, he will let them go if Alberto joins. LAX lets Alberto’s family go, Alberto says him and Carlos are no longer friends, Konnan says he needs a soldier. Alberto puts on the shirt… then attacks LAX. Alberto does not join LAX. Alberto lets everyone know they were a great crowd tonight expect Josh Matthews because he “f***ing sucks”. Alberto thanks everyone for making this one of the greatest days of his life, happy 4th of July!

Gail Kim Announces Retirement at Impact Tapings

At the most recent <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/03/gfw-impact-wrestling-spoilers-july-3rd-2017/">GFW Impact tapings</a>, Gail Kim announced she will be retiring effective at the end of 2017.As reported by <a href="http://www.f4wonline.com/tna-news/impact-tv-taping-notes-gail-kim-announcement-super-x-cup-238556" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">F4WOnline</a>, Kim came out Monday during the TV tapings at the Impact Zone to address the Impact Orlando crowd. During her <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/promo/" title="promo">promo</a>, Kim told fans that while she would be returning to the ring once medically cleared, she would hang up her boots at the end of the year. Kim has not wrestled since October 2016 after suffering a back injury, forcing her to vacate the Knockouts Championship.<h5>Gail Kim’s Accomplishments</h5>During her career, Kim, 40, won the Knockouts Championship a record six times for a combined 710 days. Kim is also a former Knockouts Tag Team Champion with Madison Rayne. In 2015, Kim helped Team <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/hardy/" title="Hardy">Hardy</a> win the TNA World Cup. In 2016, Kim became the first Knockout inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame. She also won the WWE <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/women/" title="Women">Women</a>’s Championship in 2003.

After the match, Trevor Lee attacked Dutt and left with the title. Eddie Edwards, Grado, and VOW defeated Eli <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/drake/" title="Drake">Drake</a>, <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/chris/" title="Chris">Chris</a> Adonis, Fallah Bahh, and Idris Abraham. Matt Sydal dfeated Braxton Sutter. The Super X Cup competitors were revealed: Davey Richards, Andrew Everett, Dezmond Xavier, ACH, Drago, Idris Abraham, Ishimori, and Sammy Guevara. Super X Cup: Dezmond Xavier defeats Idris Abraham. Knockouts Champion Sienna defeated Rebel. Gail Kim comes out and announced that 2017 will be her last year wrestling. A segment was taped involving Eli Drake, Chris Adonis, and a couple of bodybuilders. Super X Cup: ACH defeats Andrew Everett. Alberto El Patron vs. Lashley ended when LAX came out and attacked Lashley. Konnan announced El Patron is LAX’s newest member and El Patron left with the group.

Gail Kim Reveals If She Is Returning to Impact Wrestling

Gail Kim recently did an interview with Kevin Eck of Pressbox Online. Here are a couple of highlights from the interview:Tell me about the nature of your back injury and how you’re feeling now.“My back was injured just basically from wear and tear over the years. Luckily, Impact has been so good to me in terms of letting me take time off to make sure I’m healthy and never making me feel bad about it. I’ve been ready to come back for a little while but [Impact Wrestling] has had some time off because we film a <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/bunch/" title="bunch">bunch</a> of shows once a month or once every other month, so that’s the only reason why I haven’t been back in the ring, but I’m <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/going/" title="going">going</a> to be back shortly.”You’re not under contract with at Impact at the moment, correct?“Technically, no, but I have a contract in hand. I won’t ever go anywhere else.
