UPDATE: New Reports Deny Rumor Of WWE Being Sold To Saudi Arabia

So maybe not? We are in a very strange time for WWE as things are moving so fast that it is hard to keep track of everything. The difference this time is that it is at the very top of the promotion, with the future ownership being questioned. That has opened up a variety of options, but now it seems that one of the leading candidates may not be as close to control as expected. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: When Vince McMahon Could Appear On WWE TV Again Earlier this week, a rumor circulated that WWE had been sold to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which planned to take the company private again. However, new reports from Ariel Helwani of BT Sports, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Jon Alba of Fite TV say that they have heard nothing of such a sale. At the moment, WWE has yet to comment on the story, though the company has been rumored to look at a sale in recent days. Contrary to reports stating otherwise last night, there is no deal in place at this precise moment for ..

There’s Your Dream Team: Bret Hart Manages FTR Over The Weekend

It’s long overdue. There are certain times when you see a pair of wrestlers who seem like they are a perfect fit. It might be them facing off or teaming together, but it can make for some fascinating moments when they finally make it happen. This can be all the more common in modern wrestling with different promotions around the world and that was the case again this weekend. Over the weekend, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart managed FTR at a Big Time Wrestling event in Webster, Massachusetts. The match saw FTR defeat Brian Pillman Jr. and Brock Anderson, who had Brock’s father Arn in their corner. This comes as FTR has been paying tribute to Hart, including indirectly referencing him in their promos. The show will be available on Fite TV at some point in the future. Welcome Back: Jon Moxley’s Return To The Ring Officially Announced

Welcome back. There are a lot of reasons a wrestler might miss time from the ring. It might be due to a wrestler needing a break or it might be an injury, but sometimes it could be something a lot more serious. That was the case with one of the biggest stars in AEW, who needed to take some time off to deal with some personal issues. Now though, we know when he is returning to the ring. Back in November 2021, AEW’s Jon Moxley entered a rehabilitation center for alcohol related issued. As a result, he has been absent from the ring and television ever since. Now though, Game Changer Wrestling has announced that Moxley will be returning to the ring to defend the GCW World Title against Homicide on January 23. Interesting Note About The Future Of The Ring Of Honor World Title

The title isn’t done yet. One of the bigger stories of the year has been the demise of Ring of Honor, as the company seems like it might be completely done following this month’s Final Battle event. At the very least, the company is going into hiatus for the next several months, but it seems that a few things might be continuing while everything else is away full time. Game Changer Wrestling has announced that new Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham will be defending his title against AJ Gray at their December 17 Blood on the Hills event. The match will take place under Pure Rules, which Gresham said would be the case for all of his title defenses after winning the title at Final Battle. There is no word on how frequently Gresham will be defending the title in other promotions. *BREAKING* The JON GRESHAM vs AJ GRAY match at #GCWBlood will now be for the ROH World Championship and will be contested under Pure Rules! VIDEO: Two Massive Debuts Close AEW All Out, Plus Post Show Promo

They went big. AEW All Out has come and gone for the year and the show was quite the hit. The entire card worked well with nothing really coming close to being bad. That’s what you want out of a pay per view, but it can help if there is a little more to it. In this case, the show could have benefited from having a big surprise. It turns out that we got even more than that. AEW All Out featured a pair of debuts after the main event ended. After World Champion Kenny Omega retained his title, Omega spoke about how there was no one who could defeat him. The lights then went out and Adam Cole made his debut, only to superkick Jungle Boy and side with Omega and the Elite. This comes after Cole’s WWE contract expired late last month. Cole and the Elite then celebrated, with Omega saying no one could stop then. Then Bryan Danielson, formerly Daniel Bryan in WWE, debuted and helped clear the ring along with Christian Cage and the Jurassic Express. Danielson has not appeared at any wrestling e..

Attendance, Revenue Figures For All In Pay-Per-View, Other Facts

The recent All In pay-per-view, put on by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks, is being praised for its outstanding matches and excellent marketing. But how did the event do from a numbers standpoint? The most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides some insight. Total attendance at the show was 11,263, which was the maximum amount that the fire department would allow. Bischoff on Wrestling Recap – WWE’s Aging Fanbase, Free Agent John Cena, Cornette vs. Russo, More!

Bischoff comments on the Sports Business Journal’s recent report, which suggested that the median age of wrestling fans has grown to 54 years old. In his opinion, the median age of wrestling fans is closer to mid 40’s, based on some research that he has seen over the last couple of years. Either way, that’s probably a higher number than WWE would like.

He points out that some people still wish that WWE would return to a more mature style of programming, but sponsors write the cheques, and they want WWE to target a younger demographic. Younger audiences are always preferable for sponsors, because older people don’t spend money as freely. As long as the sponsors demand WWE to continue with PG programming, that’s exactly what they’ll do.

Bischoff points out that IMPACT Wrestling’s audience is made of up mostly older male viewers. Because of this, he says that sponsors can probably get commercial time on PopTV for $49 a spot during an IMPACT showing. Older audiences, specifically males, simply don’t spend money.

Bischoff comments on the fact that ICW from Ireland has pulled their video library from the FITE TV app, and they’re the first independent promotion to be announced as moving their library to the WWE Network. Bischoff thinks this is very interesting, because WWE has always ignored all of their competition in the past. He’s intrigued to see how this relationship plays out.
