The wrestlers are talented and there are all kinds of people who can do a variety of things, but only a few are able to connect with the audience in a special way. One of the more popular wrestlers with that ability might not be around the company for a little while. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a Face Of The Revolution ladder match with eight stars. Early in the match, Eddie Kingston and Ortiz brawled off with commentary saying they had to be separated. Following the show, AEW aired a video, showing Kingston being interviewed. Kingston’s entire statement was “I quit AEW. Peace.” There is no word on where this is going. That was abrupt. NXT Date: February 28, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. We are about a month away from Stand & Deliver and the card is starting to take shape. While nothing has happened yet and Roadblock is next week, you can probably figure out a lot of what is coming. One thing that is not entirely clear is what will be going on with Shawn Michaels and Grayson Waller, but maybe we can find out some more tonight. Let’s get to it. We open with a huge brawl of people trying to get to the ring to answer Wes Lee’s open challenge for a North American Title shot. Dabba-Kato almost makes it in but Apollo Crews jumps him. Nathan Frazer returns and gets inside for the title shot. North American Title: Nathan Frazer vs. Wes Lee Lee is defending. Frazer headlocks him down to start and holds him there for a good bit. That’s a lot. The biggest wrestling story of the year thus far is Vince McMahon returning to WWE to steer the company towards a sale. That is the kind of move that can change the wrestling world forever as the new owners could completely reshape WWE into something very different. Now we know another detail that could change the entire sale process by eliminating some competitors. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RUMOR: Ronda Rousey Up For Marvel Film Role According to Bloomberg, McMahon has targeted $9 billion as the selling price for WWE. This is reportedly 37% higher than the market value of $6.5 billion. Having the right theme music can move a wrestler up to the next level, but the wrong choice can cause them some problems. The show featured a pair of Royal Rumble matches, plus an angle between Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns after the main event. AEW Honors Jay Briscoe In Dynamite’s Main Event

They will always be Dem Boys. Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a tribute to Jay Briscoe, as his brother Mark, made his AEW debut against their longtime friend and rival, Jay Lethal. This tribute match came just over a week after Jay Briscoe passed away in a car accident at the age of 38. Ironically, the show also happened to be taking place on what would have been Jay’s 39th birthday. The finish of the match came when Mark Briscoe connected with The Froggy Bow through the timekeeper’s table. He then rolled Lethal into the ring, and after a series of maneuvers, Briscoe planted Lethal with The Jay Driller to pick up the victory. Following the match, the entire AEW locker room came on stage and gave a round of applause to both competitors. Several of them also hugged Lethal as he came up to the top of the entrance ramp. That’s some praise. AEW has come a long way in just a few years and a lot of that has been due to its talent roster. The company has seen all kinds of people come through its doors since its inception and many of them have had quite the run. Only a few stand out as top stars though and now one of them is receiving a very special distinction from the most important person in the company. Khan talked about how Moxley had been a great World Champion for the company and was there week in and week out, doing the best work of his entire career. Moxley helped form the Blackpool Combat Club and won the AEW World Title twice in 2022. Moxley did have a heck of a year. While the matches are ready though, there are still a few questions that need to be answered. One of the more wide open spots on the card is the Pitch Black match between LA Knight and Bray Wyatt, as we don’t know much about it. Now that has changed, at least a little. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Switch It Up: Raw XXX Bloodline Acknowledgment Ceremony Canceled, Replaced With New Idea According to Fightful Select, the match will include some form of “neon” elements, though it is not clear what that will mean. The Royal Rumble is a show with a lot of built in advantages as the show’s namesake matches allow for multiple surprises. Update On Ronda Rousey’s WWE Status According to Fightful Select, while WWE is planning surprises for the Royal Rumble, the company is leaning towards “non-traditional surprises”. How Much? Sasha Banks’ New Japan Contract Reportedly Beats Chris Jericho’s

After walking out on WWE in May, Banks has still yet to return and as of last week, was reportedly “done” with the company. Instead she will be heading to New Japan Pro Wrestling beginning in January, and now we know some more interesting details about the entire situation. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Major Update To Bobby Lashley’s Monday Night Raw Status According to Voices Of Wrestling, Banks will be appearing for New Japan on a per appearance basis, “at the highest price” that the company has ever paid anyone. This includes even more than Chris Jericho, who according to Wrestling Observer Radio, was making $100,000 per appearance, starting in 2018. Banks is set for multiple dates with New Japan, but she will be able to work on other projects, including AEW if she likes. There is no word on Banks working in any American promotions at the moment.
