Here’s The Odd Reason Vince McMahon Changed WWE Stars’ Names

I guess it makes sense? A wrestler’s name is one of the most important things about their entire persona. The right name can make someone feel that much more important but the wrong name can put their career on the entirely wrong track. WWE has a strange habit of changing names out of nowhere and now we know why two names were switched. It turns out to have been the whim of one person. During an interview on the What Do You Call It podcast, former WWE star Tucker said that he and Otis lost their first names in WWE due to Vince McMahon. According to Tucker, McMahon did not like how long it took to introduce their full names. Tucker and Otis were formerly known as Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic, but McMahon cut off their last names. Tucker was released from WWE earlier this year. It was quite the interview. NXT Live Coverage And Results – May 23, 2018

NXT Date: May 23, 2018 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson, Mauro Ranallo The build to Chicago is slowly taking form with Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch looking likely to challenge for the Tag Team Titles. Other than that, we really don’t have anything set up yet. That being said, NXT has an amazing track record of being able to catch up in a hurry so it’s not like they’re in any real trouble. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jonathan Coachman is in the front row. Heavy Machinery vs. TM61 Dozovic goes with the power to start and runs Thorn over with a shoulder, followed by a double shoulder to give Knight two. Everything breaks down for a few seconds with Miller being run over as well while Thorn is put in the Tree of Woe. That allows Miller to be driven into his partner’s ribs as this is one sided so far. A shot to the back cuts Knight off though and the fans stay completely behind Heavy Machinery. ..

NXT Tag Team Championship Match Announced

<p>WWE has announced that Heavy Machinery will receive a shot at The Authors of Pain for the NXT Championships on the July 12th episode of NXT. Here is the preview they posted for the match:</p><p><em><strong>NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain to defend against Heavy Machinery on July 12</strong></em></p><p><em>The Authors of Pain have built their NXT Tag Team Title Championship upon a foundation of brute force and physical dominance. However, against Heavy Machinery — AOP’s newly confirmed challengers for the July 12 episode of NXT — Ellering’s menacing monsters, for once, find themselves against opponents who can more than match their immensity.</em></p><p><em>For Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic, the battle cry of “steaks and weights” isn’t just playful banter; it’s a way of life. The numbers tell the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/story/" title="story">story</a></strong>: 320-pound Knight boasts a 365-pound bench press and 500-pound squats and deadlifts, while 330-pound Dozovic lays claim to a 475-pound bench press, a 610-pound squat and a 710-pound deadlift. Beneath the muscle and outsized personalities are two elite grapplers who torched collegiate competition before turning to NXT, where their success has been just as great.</em></p><p><em>Not that any of those <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/facts/" title="facts">facts</a></strong> will intimidate The Authors of Pain. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/akam" title="Akam">Akam</a></strong> & Rezar are 300-pounders, and they have MMA and world-class wrestling backgrounds, too. Their WWE Hall of Fame manager appears to have his misgivings about the burly challengers, even if he won’t admit it, but AOP only has one thing in mind: Adding Knight & Dozovic to The Book of Dominance.</em></p><p><em>Which super-heavyweight tandem will prevail? Don’t miss this huge NXT Tag Team Championship battle when it takes center stage Wednesday, July 12, on NXT, streaming exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network at 8/7 C.</em></p>
