It’s a different group. Stables have been a part of WWE’s history for decades now and there is nothing to suggest that they will be going away anytime soon. They are a logical idea, as you can have several wrestlers in one place and getting more television time than they might have otherwise. Now though, we might be seeing a WWE stable gaining another member. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: By His Ruling: Lawsuit Filed Against WWE By MLW Dismissed, Case Not Over Yet Last month on Monday Night Raw, Maxxine Dupri of Maximum Male Models met Otis and thought he could be perfect for the team. This week, Dupri offered Otis a modeling job while saying that Otis could be the face of their brand, which left Otis seeming intrigued. There is no word on where this could be going or what this will mean for Otis’ partner Chad Gable. This has potential. Check out what happened, plus what Otis has done away from Gable before: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to p..
Dismissed for now. While WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world, they are certainly not the only one. The company has dominated the industry for so long but there are still several other promotions to be found. One such promotion was not happy with WWE’s actions and did something about it, but that has not turned out very well for them. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s On: WWE Officially Sets Trilogy Match For Elimination Chamber In January 2022, Major League Wrestling (MLW) filed a lawsuit against WWE, claiming that WWE had interfered with MLW’s contract negotiations with Tubi and VICE TV. This week, according to PWInsider.com, US District Court Judge Edward J. Davila dismissed the case, basically saying that MLW did not make a strong enough argument to back up claims of WWE violating antitrust laws. MLW has 21 days to file an amended complaint, with MLW owner Court Bauer issuing a statement to PWInsider saying the company’s legal team is already working on..
It had been previously reported that former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE superstar Cain Velasquez had been arrested on charges of attempted murder. He pleaded not guilty to these charges in Santa Clara (California) County earlier today. From ESPN: Velasquez, 40, is being charged with attempted murder and 10 other gun-related charges stemming from an incident where he allegedly chased down a man, Harry Goularte — who is being charged with molesting a young relative of Velasquez — and shooting a gun into Goularte’s vehicle, hitting Goularte’s stepfather, Paul Bender. Velasquez has been in jail since Feb. 28 and has been denied bail on three separate occasions. A pre-trial hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 26, where Geragos is expecting to be able to get witnesses to testify, the attorney said. If the case is not dismissed at that point, he said, it would then go to trial, which could begin before the end of the year. Geragos said the prosecution will not be calling Goula..
That takes care of things. Wrestling fans watch their favorite, and sometimes not so favorite, stars on TV on a regular basis. It can be easy to forget that we are watching real people get in the ring every so often. These people have real life situations going on outside of the ring and no one of the most serious issues has been wrapped up in a bit of a surprise. According to PWInsider.com, former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron’s sexual assault charges were dismissed on Friday and the case is officially closed. A witness was said to be missing, meaning that El Patron is cleared of all liability in the situation. The trial was scheduled to have begun on Monday. El Patron has been regularly wrestling for a variety of promotions in Mexico over the last few months. This is a bit of a touchy situation so we’ll try something else. Here is a different Albert in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..
Maybe that can help things. There are all kinds of stories in the history of wrestling and some of them are a lot better than others. You often hear stories of wrestlers doing good things, but unfortunately you hear bad stories all the more often. Some of these have been told on television, which was the case last week. Now though, one of the people involved has had to issue an apology. The most recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring focused on the infamous Plane Ride From Hell. Back in 2002, a group of WWE stars flew on a transatlantic flight after a European tour. What followed was quite the mess, with all kinds of alcohol being consumed and wrestlers doing some rather bad things. One such thing in particular went further than the rest and now a wrestler is having to apologize for his comments about the situation. During this week’s show, flight attendant Heidi Doyle spoke about Ric Flair forcing her to touch his genitals during the flight. Tommy Dreamer dismissed the comments and..
So much for that. WWE is a huge wrestling company. Actually they’re a pretty big company no matter what profession we’re talking about. They have very deep pockets and all kinds of resources. That means people are going to come after them, even if there’s not much validity to the claims made. Some of those claims were brought up again in recent years, but this time they’re going in WWE’s favor. According to PWInsider.com, a US District Court Judge in Connecticut has dismissed all lawsuits currently against WWE in regards to concussions. The lawsuits, many of which have been filed by attorney Konstantine Kyros over the last several years, claimed that WWE was responsible for a variety of head injuries due to not properly advising the wrestlers on the risk of such injuries. I wonder if the lawsuit went like this. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That’s about the only way it could have gone. At the end of the day, wrestlers have to know what kind of risks they’re ta..
He could not stay away from the ring. Rich Swann had quite the whirlwind of a 2017 in a short span of time as he was once a WWE superstar, then he and the company mutually agreed to part ways, and following that Swann decided that he no longer wanted to be a pro wrestler and announced his retirement from the sport. In December of 2017 Swann was suspended indefinitely by WWE for violating their zero tolerance policy for domestic violence. Rich Swann and his wife Vannarah Riggs, also known as 'Su Yung' were involved in an altercation with one another that resulted in Swann being arrested. Rich Swann was arrested on charges of battery and false imprisonment, and in January of this year the charges that were placed against him were dismissed due to lack of evidence to find him guilty. The following month after being cleared of the charges Swann and WWE agreed to mutually part ways. After his departure from company Swann had dates lined up with the 'CRASH Lucha Libre' ..
