WATCH: The Miz Hits Half Court Shot In Celebrity Basketball Game, Gets Waived Off

The rules are the rules. The NBA held its annual celebrity basketball game this weekend, which was part of its All-Star festivities. One of the celebrities who participated was The Miz, who had a fantastic moment that suddenly turned into a disaster. The Miz, who was on Team [Dwayne] Wade, hit a half-court shot to potentially tie the game and send it to overtime, only to have it waived off because he released the ball after time expired. You can see the shot and the aftermath below: [This post contains video, click to play] From NBA.com: The second-most star-studded game of All-Star weekend wasn’t short on bling, fame, drama, or last-minute excitement Friday as the basketball weekend kicked off in style. It was the 2023 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and it was decided at the final buzzer — or not. WWE Superstar The Miz sank a half-court heave that was waved off, much to the relief of Team Dwyane Wade, which survived and beat Team Ryan Smith 81-78. The MVP of the game was ..

WATCH: Brock Lesnar Praises Logan And Jake Paul

That’s a special endorsement. Over the years, several celebrities and outside athletes have tried their hands at wrestling, with the success rate being a bit all over the place. There will be some instances of these outsiders being near disasters but some of them have done very well, blowing away expectations. Now some outsiders have received praise from one of the bigger stars in wrestling today. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Here’s Why Aliyah Has Been Off WWE TV, When She Could Return Earlier this month at WWE Crown Jewel, Logan Paul unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. The match saw Logan’s brother Jake Paul interfere to help take care of the Usos. Jake has since uploaded a video to his YouTube page, showing Brock Lesnar praising the pair and saying that he has followed their careers. Lesnar also wrestled on the show, defeating Bobby Lashley in the show’s opening match. The Pauls have done well. Check out what Lesnar had to say..

Editor’s Opinion: I love stuff like this. It’s always cool to see regular folks have an opportunity to real..

WWE Tryouts Reportedly “A Disaster”, Major Changes Coming For Next Time

That’s not good developing. WWE is a massive wrestling company and has to do a lot of work to keep things moving. That is certainly easier said than done, but one of the best things that the company can do is keep the talent coming in to the promotion. There are multiple ways to do that, but WWE might be altering one of their primary means of bringing in new wrestlers. WWE has been holding tryouts for new stars over the course of the week in Nashville, Tennessee. The tryouts have mainly included athletes from outside wrestling, which has been WWE’s main focus in recent times. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this set of tryouts will be the last to focus on non-wrestlers, as there were several injuries due to the athletes not being experienced. The tryouts were reportedly described as a “disaster”. Therefore, the solution will be to bring in more independent wrestlers who are experienced in the ring. Opinion: I can get WWE’s mentality here, as there is no reason for WWE to put i..

AEW Stars Get In Altercation With Fan At This Week’s Rampage Taping

That could have been worse for AEW. Wrestlers have a weird job when it comes to fans. At the end of the day, wrestlers are tasked with making fans believe that everything they are seeing is real, but at the same time, they have to listen to the fans either supporting or hating them. That can make for some complicated matters, and that seemed to be the case again this week at a television taping. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there was an altercation between AEW’s Lee Moriarty and Stokely Hathaway and a fan at this week’s AEW television tapings. It is not clear if this happened during the taping or after the show was over, but it is not expected to make television. There is no word on any kind of injury or issues as a result. Moriarty is scheduled to face Matt Sydal on this week’s show. Opinion: This is something that happens every now and then and that is not something you want to see. What matters is that everyone is ok, because that could have been quite the disaster in no..

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Money In The Bank 2020 Date: May 10, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips It’s a special event this time around as the majority of the show will be taking place in the Performance Center but the two ladder matches, taking place at the same time because reasons, are to be held at WWE Headquarters in Connecticut. This could be anywhere between a disaster or fascinating, or perhaps a combination of both. Let’s get to it..

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. King of the Ring 1994 Date: June 19, 1994 Location: Baltimore Arena, Baltimore, Maryland Attendance: 12,000 Commentators: Gorilla Monsoon, Randy Savage, Art Donovan It’s tournament time and that means it’s not likely to be the most interesting show in the world. On top of that, this is one of the weaker fields they’ve ever had, which makes for a rather dull few hours. Finally, this show is infamous for the commentary, which really was a disaster and a horrible idea. Let’s get to it. Earlier today, Jeff Jarrett ca..

Finn Balor Pokes Fun At Bobby Lashley Over Recent Mid-Match Accident

He has some experience. There are some things that you will see in wrestling which you just do not see happening in other sports. That can often be due to the ring itself, which is quite the complicated setup. Sometimes it can be due to something literally falling apart, which took place at a recent WWE show. Now another WWE star is having a good time with the accident. Last week, Bobby Lashley narrowly escaped a very bad situation when the top rope broke and he crashed out to the floor. Lashley was ok following the crash and continued the match against Drew McIntyre. Following the match, Finn Balor tweeted out an image of himself losing to Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules when the top rope broke as well, though Balor’s was planned in advance. pic.twitter.com/imrFbZR5Ab — Finn Bálor (@FinnBalor) April 30, 2022 Opinion: This is something that is worth a chuckle once you know that everyone is ok. Lashley crashing out to the floor like that could have been a complete disaster and it is g..

WATCH: Bobby Lashley Suffers Near Disaster After Ring Rope Breaks At Live Event

That could have been a lot worse. There are so many things that need to go right to make a wrestling match work. In addition to the story and the action itself, wrestlers have to know their way around a ring without having anything go wrong. Sometimes something will go wrong that is completely out of their control though and that was the case this week in a pretty dangerous way. Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre were facing off in a match this week at a WWE live event in Newcastle, England. During the match, Lashley was whipped into the ropes and the top rope broke, sending Lashley crashing out to the floor. The match continued after Lashley was checked out by the WWE medical team and the rope was replaced after the match was over. That’s quite the visual. Check out the accident at the show: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: What matters here is that Lashley seems to be ok as that looked horrible. Lashley is a big man and having him fall down like that with no warnin..

Vince McMahon Was Pitched For A Major Role In A WWE Story

That would have been a big one. WWE has a lot of television time to fill every week and that means there are going to be a lot of stories taking place on any given night. Some of these are going to be a lot better than others, with a few of them being near disasters. That was the case with a story from a few years ago, but there was almost a twist that could have changed everything. Shane Thorne, formerly known as Slapjack in WWE, recently appeared on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, where he discussed his time in Retribution. Thorne said that when the team was started, there was no word on who the team’s leader would be. The team pitched for various big names, from Edge to Shane McMahon and all the way up to Vince McMahon, as they wanted to be associated with a major character. Mustafa Ali was eventually revealed as the leader, though Thorne admitted that the team had already been beaten down by that point. Retribution was split up in March 2021. Opinion: This isn’t the ..

205 Live Results – January 28, 2022

205 Live Date: January 28, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness We’re coming up on the Royal Rumble and that means absolutely nothing around here, as none of these people are going to be anywhere near a match that big for a long time. At this point, all that matters is having a show without any kind of a disaster, which may or may not be the case here. Let’s get to it. Josh Briggs vs. Damon Kemp Brooks Jensen is here with Briggs. Kemp drives Briggs up against the ropes to no avail to start so he does it again for about the same result. Back up and Briggs’ running shoulder has no effect so he kicks Kemp down instead. The fans want to see it again but have to settle for a running elbow in the corner. Kemp uppercuts his way out of trouble as commentary talks about the Royal Rumble. A Big Boss Man sliding underneath the ropes uppercut gives Briggs two and we hit the chinlock. That doesn’t last long as Kemp fights up and hits..

Backstage WWE Reaction To Charlotte vs. Nia Jax On Monday Night Raw

How did you think it would go? One of the biggest wrestling stories of the week has been the pretty much disaster that was Charlotte vs. Nia Jax on this week’s Monday Night Raw. The two did not seem to be on the same page and there were various moments during the match where the two seemed to legitimately attack each other. It was not well received by the fans, but how was it seen backstage? According to WWE producer D-Von Dudley on his Table Talk podcast, Charlotte and Jax finished their match and had no further altercations backstage. Dudley described the match as a misunderstanding and nothing more, while promising that the two would draw attention if they had a rematch. Jax defeated Charlotte, the reigning Raw Women’s Champion, but no rematch has been announced as of yet. He would know about something like this. VIDEO: Baron Corbin Not Allowed To Enter WWE Event, Faces Fine

It keeps getting worse. Every now and then you see a story in wrestling that catches your attention for a variety of reasons. Some of the best stories that can be told involve a wrestler having everything turn around for them, either for better or worse. WWE is doing that again at the moment and now things are taking place outside of the main television shows. One of the most intriguing stories on all of WWE television at the moment has been the fall of Baron Corbin. After losing his crown in July, everything has fallen apart for Corbin, who has gone from one of the bigger stars on SmackDown to a complete disaster. Corbin has lost his money, his family, his home and almost everything he owns. Somehow though, it has gotten even worse. It has been a rough day. Check out what Corbin went through: [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has posted a video to its Twitter account showing Corbin backstage at a WWE event. Corbin narrates the video, saying he had to hitchhike to work ..

The card is stacked again, including the IWGP US Title, the ten man elimination match, and the mainstream debut of Nick Gage. The latter is going to get the most attention for the sake of freak show appeal, which may or may not be a disaster. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Commentary runs down the card. We get a video on what it means to be a cowboy, which seems to mean being loyal to your friends and ready to fight. Elite vs. Dark Order/Hangman Page Omega and company looked scared of facing Page, the Elite has a full on Space Jam theme, complete with music, basketballs and Elite Squad jerseys in a sponsored entrance. Anderson and Page start but everything breaks down in a hurry, with a superplex from the top taking down the pile on the floor. Back in and the Good Brothers get caught in the cor..

WWE Has A New Way To Sell Their Merchandise (This Is Different)

Well that’s different. WWE has been around for a long time now and has quite the history. Some of these things are better than others, as the company has certainly done a few things that are a bit less than successful. Some of these are among the most infamous in wrestling history. They have a new idea this time around and while it might not be that much of a disaster, it is certainly going to be unique. According to 411mania.com, WWE has sent out an email announcing a home shopping line, allowing fans to purchase merchandise of various WWE stars. The line will be open during this week’s edition of the Bump starting at 10am EST on WWE’s YouTube channel. KB’s REVIEW: Sweet 2020 Goodness

It’s almost over. I don’t think it’s any secret that 2020 has not been the best of times for a lot of people. You can pick your reason for what has gone wrong or been the worst part of the year, but that does not mean the year has been a complete disaster. There are several parts of the wrestling year that have been better than others, even if they might have flown a bit underneath the radar. That’s what we’re going to look at today: some of the good things that have taken place in 2020. Some of these might have a bit more significance than others, but at the same time they are going to be the kind of things that might make you smile just a little bit. Hopefully we get more of these for next year, but for now it is time to look back and see what kind of good things happened this year. These are in no particular order and is not meant to be exhaustive. AEW/Impact Wrestling Crossover Ok so yes Impact Wrestling has been the joke of the wrestling world for well over ten years now and no..

Who Are You Again? Three Name Changes Announced On Monday Night Raw.

Can we get some name tags? Last week on Monday Night Raw, the NXT Tag Team Champions the War Raiders made their main roster debut, but things had changed a bit. They were now called the Viking Experience and were individually known as Erik and Ivar. To say the names weren’t well received would be an understatement, but this time WWE has changed things up a bit. A week after debuting as the Viking Experience, the team has now been renamed the Viking Raiders, with the individual names remaining. During their attack on the Lucha House Party, the team’s pop up powerbomb was called the Viking Experience. That wasn’t the only name change on the show though, as Bobby Roode is now known as Robert Roode, which he wrestled under in Impact Wrestling. Meet the mustache. Check out Roode’s new image: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: You know it says a lot when WWE admits that one of their ideas didn’t work. That’s the case with the Raiders, whose new name was such a disaster t..
