WRESTLING RUMORS: Possible Sign That Naomi Is Done With WWE

That’s a telling sign. Last May, Naomi and Sasha Banks both walked out on WWE, while still the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, has since resurfaced in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Naomi however has not been seen in a wrestling capacity since the walk out. Now a new development is suggesting that she is no longer part of WWE whatsoever. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They’re Out? WWE Expected To Split Up NXT Tag Team WrestleCon, the wrestling fan convention held over WrestleMania weekend, has announced that Naomi, under her real name of Trinity Fatu, will be a guest at the convention. WWE contracted wrestlers are rarely allowed to do outside appearances such as this, which would suggest that Naomi is no longer under contract to WWE, or will not be when the convention takes place. This is to be considered speculation as there is NO report that she has officially left WWE. https://twitter.com/wrestlecon/status/1631648476743315457 Naomi was a star while ..

Not Him: WWE Pulls Hall Of Famer From ECW Tribute Show

They’re the big ones. WWE is the largest and most powerful wrestling company in the world, meaning they are where several wrestlers want to wind up. Some wrestlers are talented and valuable enough to keep around after their in-ring careers are over and get to stick with the company in a backstage role. One such star was unable to attend a special show as a result. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It Would Be A Record: WWE Hall Of Famer Wants To Return After 21 Years For Royal Rumble Over the weekend, Battleground Championship Wrestling presented its “Tribute To The Extreme” event at the 2300 Arena (formerly the ECW Arena) in Philadelphia. According to PWInsider.com, ECW legend and current NXT coach D-Von Dudley was pulled from his scheduled appearance at the show. Dudley was scheduled to appear at the convention before the event as well as in Bully Ray’s corner for Ray’s match later that night. The promotion received a letter from WWE, which took issue with an ECW tribute show airing, but the ..

It Could Happen: WWE Ready To Name WrestleMania 43 Venue If Major Condition Is Met

That’s a long time. There are a lot of wrestling events held throughout the year but none of them top WrestleMania. For almost forty years, the annual event has become the most important in the business from multiple perspectives. As a result, cities will bid to host the show and it can be quite the financial boon to the local economy. Now, we have an idea of where WrestleMania will be heading down the road. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Switch Em Up: New Theme Music And Ring Name For Monday Night Raw Stars According to the Tennessean (Nashville, Tennessee newspaper), WrestleMania 43 could be coming to Nashville in 2027. Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. CEO Butch Spyridon has said that WWE offered the city a verbal commitment to host the event if Nashville builds a new enclosed stadium. A vote to hold the new stadium will be held in the near future. WWE released a statement to the Tennessean saying: “Nashville has exploded as a cultural center in the United States and as the land of o..

Yeowch: CM Punk Reveals New Details About Injury, Worse Than Previously Reported

That doesn’t sound good. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to get hurt and some of them can be rather serious. Some of the injuries are things that take place instantly during the course of a match while others are things that build up over time. Then there are the fluke injuries when a wrestler isn’t even active in the ring. One of the top stars in wrestling today is dealing with a combination of both and it was a little more serious than we thought. According to PWInsider.com, AEW World Champion CM Punk appeared at the AEW panel at the San Diego Comic Con and addressed his current foot injury. Punk revealed that his foot was “shattered” on June 2 and he is having to learn how to walk again. Punk was also said to be icing his foot and wearing a walking boot at the convention. It is not clear when he will be allowed to return to the ring. Opinion: That makes things all the worse and hopefully things get better for Punk in a hurry. It could be a long time before Punk is able ..

The Undertaker Appears at San-Diego Comic Con 2022

Appear In Peace. At this morning’s WWE panel discussion at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, The Undertaker made a surprise appearance to join the group that was already on stage. You can see a clip of the appearance below: THE UNDERTAKER IS AT COMIC-CON! #WWE #SDCC pic.twitter.com/F7w9FRvQ2s — Jim Velasco @ SDCC ?????? (@TheJimmyV) July 21, 2022 According to a report from Ringside News, The Undertaker made a surprise appearance after a 45-minute session in room 6A of the convention center, presented by Mattel. Many fans mistook the Deadman’s entrance song for the reveal of a retro mid-’90s Monday Night Raw Undertaker figure and were caught off guard when the WWE Hall of Famer appeared out of nowhere. He then continued to assist and introduce the remainder of the Mattel WWE collection, much to the pleasure of the WWE Universe fans in attendance and the WWE Superstars on stage. Other stars that were on stage included Cody Rhodes and Tomasso Ciampa. Editor’s Opinion: I love stuff like..

Take Your Time: You Might Not Be Seeing Sasha Banks In The Ring For A Long Time

It could be a little while. One of the biggest wrestling stories of the year has been Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on WWE. The pair vacated the Women’s Tag Team Titles in the process and neither has been seen in a wrestling capacity since. That left quite the hole in WWE, but it also opened up some doors for other promotions that could land them. Now though, it seems that it could be a ways off. According to Fightful Select, Banks is not accepting wrestling bookings until 2023 at the earliest. She is willing to take non-wrestling bookings, such as the upcoming C2E2 convention in Chicago. It is not confirmed that Banks has been released, but a promoter who asked about booking Banks said they cannot imagine that she is not gone from the company so far. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is sort of a wait and see situation. There is little reason to believe that banks is going to be wrestling anytime soon, as she has yet to officially be released from WWE so far. I’m curious t..

WATCH: Joey Janela Lights His Boot On Fire….And Can’t Put It Out

That’s certainly a way to go. There are a lot of ways to present a match to draw in the fans’ attention, though some of them are a little less conventional. Sometimes you will see someone doing something very different, which may or may not be the best idea. That was the case again this week, and thankfully it did not go nearly as badly as it could have given the danger included. Over the weekend, former AEW star Joey Janela wrestled a match against Drew Parker at GCW’s Maniac event. During the match, Janela set his boot on fire for a superkick to Parker but was unable to put the fire out. Several bottles of water were thrown into the ring to douse the flames, which were eventually put out. Janela was burned, but there is no word on the extent of his injuries. This is a different kind of injury. Check out what happened (contains some strong language): [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: What do you even say to this? Janela burned his foot because he lit it on fire as..

WOO! Ric Flair Confirms Return To The Ring, Possible Legend Returning As Opponent

Yes, again. There are very few wrestlers who truly retire from the ring. For one reason or another, a wrestler will almost always return to the ring for one more run or even one more match. That does not mean it is a good idea, as there have been some terrible comebacks in wrestling history. Now another one is taking place, as one of the biggest names of all time is returning to the ring. After a few days of speculation, Ric Flair has confirmed that he is returning to the ring for one more match later this year. The match will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on July 31 as part of the Starrcast V convention. According to Fightful Select, the match will see Flair teaming with FTR to face the Rock N Roll Express and Ricky Steamboat, though no official announcement has been made. Flair last wrestled in September 2011 for Impact Wrestling. The Rumors Are True! I’m Going To Walk That Aisle, Style And Profile, One Last Time! July 31st! Nashville, Tennessee! Impact Wrestling Results – May 5, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: May 5, 2022 Location: Majed J. Neshewat Convention Center, Poughkeepsie, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the go home show for Under Siege, which has come up rather fast after Rebellion took place just a few weeks ago. Last week saw Tomohiro Ishii announced as the new #1 contender to Josh Alexander, which should be a nice trial by fire for the new champion. It’s time for the final push towards Under Siege so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Tonight it’s Monster’s Ball with PCO vs. Jonah and they actually bring back the “they’ve been locked away for 24 hours” deal. Brian Myers vs. W. Morrissey Tables match. Morrissey hits a running splash in the corner and goes outside to load up the first table. That is broken up with a slingshot dive to the floor but Morrissey fights up again. Another table is loaded up but Myers is right back to cut him off as we have a theme going here. Instead Myers sets up his own table, only to have to escape a ..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 28, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: April 28, 2022 Location: Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, Poughkeepsie, New York Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We’re done with Rebellion and the big story is that Josh Alexander got the World Title back from Moose in a heck of a main event. Other than that, we are less than two weeks away from Under Siege and need to get a card together pretty fast. Odds are we’ll be seeing a bunch of rematches so let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Rebellion in rapid fashion. Opening sequence. Here is Violent By Design for a chat. Eric Young talks about desiring power and control, and that is exactly what they went and got. Now they have defeated seven teams and are the permanent Tag Team Champions. If you are being honest, their success shouldn’t surprise you and there is no team anywhere that can take them down. Cue Heath and Rhino to say they want the Tag Team Titles but here are the Briscoes to interrupt. Jay says Dem Boys are in the house an..

WATCH: Former WWE Star Confirms Return To The Ring

Welcome back. Wrestlers have a weird situation when it comes to retiring from the ring. It is rare to see someone completely walk away from the business as there is always the chance that they could wrestle one more match somewhere down the road. It can be a lot of fun to see someone get back in the ring and now a star is making it clear that he is not done yet. Former WWE star Bo Dallas appeared at the For The Love Of Wrestling convention and confirmed that he will be returning to the ring “really, really soon”. Dallas said that some ventures outside of wrestling have kept him out of the ring but some of those things have wrapped up, allowing him to return to the ring. While he did not say where he would be wrestling, he said that it would be within the next two to three months. Dallas has not wrestled November 13, 2019. He would know best. Check out what Dallas had to say: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is always nice to hear as there is a lot of talent ..

Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2022 Results

Rebellion 2022 Date: April 24, 2022 Location: Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, Poughkeepsie, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s back to pay per view for Impact and this time they have made me want to see what they have to offer. The main event is a long awaited showdown between Moose and Josh Alexander for the World Title, after Moose took the title at Bound For Glory and then went after Alexander’s family. The rest of the card looks pretty good too so let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Eddie Edwards vs. Chris Bey Bey is replacing an injured Jonathan Gresham. There are no seconds here for a change and the fans are behind Bey, complete with the TOO SWEET chants. Feeling out process to start with Bey grabbing a headscissors but getting taken down with a shot to the face. An overhead belly to belly suplex drops Bey again but he fires off some kicks to send Edwards outside. There’s the big running flip dive, sending Rehwoldt into an Inception reference. Edwards hits..

WWE Is Changing Up A Longstanding WrestleMania Week Event

They need the help. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and WWE is still putting together some of the pieces for what they have coming up. This includes some things that have nothing to do with the actual WrestleMania events, but are merely going on at the same time. One such event has yet to be announced, but WWE is still getting its work force together. WWE has sent out a press release, by way of Wrestlinginc.com, requesting volunteers to work at their upcoming Superstore Axxess event at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The positions offered include greeters, assisting with photo ops and prop handling, though there is nothing to suggest that there will be wrestlers involved. There will however be photo ops available with WWE memorabilia. WWE has yet to announce that the event will take place. It looks like the WWE Axxess superstore will happen but no axxess to meet superstars. #WWE #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/DmsXfhO48L — Jackie Gue..

Bray Wyatt Making First Wrestling Related Appearance In Seven Months

He’s at it again. Every now and then, you see a wrestler come along who catches your attention. There is something about them that makes you pay attention and you cannot take your eyes off of them. That is not something that a promotion should pass up as it means you can go in a lot of different ways. One such name will be making something of a return to wrestling after a long time away. Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt, will be making his first wrestling related appearance at the Showcase of Legends 7 in Albany, New York on Sunday. Rotunda will be taking photos, signing autographs and doing a meet and greet at the convention, which will also include names such as Trish Stratus, Rikishi, Dustin Rhodes, Erick Redbeard and several others. This is Rotunda’s first wrestling appearance since he was released from WWE on July 31, 2021. There is no word on when or where he will be returning to the ring. Opinion: I’m still not sure what to expect from Rotunda but it is a good sign ..

New Champion Crowned At AEW Battle Of The Belts

History has been made! There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them are a bit more unique than others. It can be interesting to see what kinds of titles a promotion comes up with, as you can find some rather unconventional ideas. That was kind of the case this weekend, as a new title was introduced with an idea stemming from mixed martial arts. This weekend, AEW presented its first ever Battle of the Belts special. The show was focused on title matches and was originally scheduled to include a TNT Title match between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. However, Rhodes was forced out of the match due to Coronavirus issues. As a result, Guevara faced Cody’s brother Dustin Rhodes in a match for the Interim TNT Title. Guevara defeated Dustin, setting up a future match with Cody to unify the titles. It was a busy night. Check out the two in action, plus what Cody could have added: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [Thi..

WWE Star Returning After Long Absence, Though Not Right Away

Welcome back? There are a few ways to bring a wrestler back into the fold and some of them are more conventional than others. One of the most important factors is whether or not the fans are going to know if someone is coming back, which can open a few doors in either direction. This time the fans do know, but it is still a fairly unique way to bring a wrestler back. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced the return of Alexa Bliss, or at least the beginning of her return. Next week, we will see part of Bliss’ return to Monday Night Raw, though there is no word on when she will return to the ring. Bliss has not been seen since Extreme Rules, when Charlotte destroyed Bliss’ Lily doll after she defeated Bliss in a match for the Raw Women’s Title. Bliss can do a lot of things. Check out what she can do when she is around: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m glad that Bliss ..

How WWE May Be Changed By The Golden Girls (Seriously)

That isn’t one you hear very often. There are a lot of stories about how hard life can be on the road for professional wrestlers, especially in WWE. You will hear about wrestlers having to be on the road for 300 days a year with very little time off and it can be incredibly difficult for everyone involved. Things have gotten a bit better, but time off is still precious. One current WWE star had a very unique reason for wanting time away. SmackDown’s King Woods has posted a tweet revealing that he has requested time off from WWE to attend and cover a Golden Girls convention in Chicago from April 22-24. The convention is the first of its kind, though there is no word on if Woods has been given the time off. Woods is currently the reigning King of the Ring and has been feuding with the Bloodline. When we ask for days off at wwe we have to give a reason as to why we would like the time off. pic.twitter.com/q1Kvyh1J6l — Austin Creed – King of The Ring (@AustinCreedWins) December 2, 2021 ..

LOOK: Wyatt Family Reunites Over The Weekend

Good to see you again. Stables can be a fascinating concept in wrestling because there are so many people put together all at once. It can make for a nice collection of talent being able to showcase themselves all at once, which opens up some doors. At the same time though, it can be quite the hit when a stable splits up. Not all splits are permanent though, and we saw a pretty cool reunion over the weekend. The WrestleCade convention took place over the weekend in North Carolina. Both Adam Scherr and Erick Redbeard, formerly known as Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan, were at the convention and posed together for a photo. The two were part of the Wyatt Family in WWE but both were released from the company in the last two years. Neither have been signed to a major promotion. Family!!! pic.twitter.com/M4deo2BJZ7 — Adam Scherr (@Adamscherr99) November 28, 2021 The team was quite good together. Check out some of what they did in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This pos..

Two AEW Stars Injured At Full Gear, Miss Event As a Result

That’s always a possibility. Injuries can happen at anytime to any wrestler and that is never a good thing to see. Sometimes these things happen over time, but on occasion they are the sort of injury that happens all at once. Either way, they can lead to a wrestler being out of action for some time, which seems to be the case again after a pair of physical matches over the weekend. According to PWInsider.com, both Malakai Black and Eddie Kingston were injured during this weekend’s AEW Full Gear pay per view. The two of them were pulled from The Big Event convention in New York City. There is no word on what kind of injuries they have suffered or how long either of them will be out of action. During the show, Black teamed with Andrade El Idolo against Cody Rhodes and Pac in a lowing effort, which CM Punk defeated Kingston. These two are rather talented. Check out what they can do when they are healthy: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to pl..
