Veteran AEW Star Suggests His 29 Year Career Will End Soon

That would be a big loss. There are a lot of wrestlers who comprise the AEW roster. The company has so many wrestlers in a mixture of newcomers, established names and veterans, who have come together to make for quite the impressive collection. However, sometimes a wrestler is going to head off and that seems to be happening again with a long tenured star. AEW’s Christopher Daniels has sent out a tweet saying that he is getting close to the end of the in-ring part of his wrestling life. Daniels, 52 years old, has been wrestling since April 1993 and has wrestled in various promotions around the world. He is currently the Head Of Talent Relations and an occasional wrestler for AEW. Daniels most recently faced Konosuke Takeshita over the weekend at the Tokyo Game Show. I’m pretty sure I’m the first person to hold the distinction of wrestling for all of these great companies in their career. As I get close to the end of the in-ring part of my wrestling life, I’m honored & humbled to have..

AEW Rampage Results – July 22, 2022

Rampage Date: July 22, 2022 Location: Gas South Arena, Duluth, Georgia Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Jim Ross We’re finally finishing up the two week long Fyter Fest and hopefully there is a bit less shark enthusiasm this time around. We’ll be seeing some good stuff this week, including Christopher Daniels vs. Jay Lethal as we are only a day away from Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Hangman Page/John Silver vs. Butcher and the Blade Silver charges at both of them to start before Page can even get his vest off. That means Silver gets beaten down in the corner as the numbers game gets the better of it. Butcher, who looks to have slimmed down a bit, chops away and it’s off to Blade for the stomping. A suplex gets Silver out of trouble and it’s back to Page to clean house. The fall away slam sends Blade flying and a slingshot dive takes Butcher out. A top rope clothesline gets two on Blade but Butcher pulls Page to the floor for some whips into ..

REVIEW: New York Wrestling Connection Psycho Circus 17: What A Concept

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Psycho Circus 17 Date: February 23, 2019 Location: NYWC Sportatorium, Deer Park, New York Commentators: Christopher Andrews, Matt Striker This is from the New York Wrestling Connection, a promotion out of New York (shocking I know) that has been around for almost twenty years. As is usually the case, I know nothing about the show coming in and that can make things fun. Granted I’m not sure how much fun a show called Psycho Circus is going to be but let’s get to it. Keep in mind that I know nothing about this plac..

AEW Will Be Featuring Some Fresh Faces Very Soon

Bring them on in. Wrestling promotions have a lot of different things to balance at any given time in order to keep their fans happy. This includes making sure that they have fresh matches and wrestlers so that their cards don’t get stale. That is a bit easier to do today in modern wrestling with so much talent available, and now some more wrestlers might be making appearances in a major American promotion. AEW Vice President of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels has announced that AEW has come to a working agreement with DDT Pro-Wrestling. This will allow the company’s wrestlers to appear for AEW, though there is no mention of AEW wrestlers appearing in DDT-Pro Wrestling.. There is no word on when this will begin or who might be appearing for AEW. DDT-Pro Wrestling is a Japanese promotion owned by Pro Wrestling Noah’s parent company and was Kenny Omega’s home promotion before moving to New Japan. ?Announcement! ? AEW's VP of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels has a message..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – March 2, 2022

Dynamite Date: March 2, 2022 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone This is an interesting show as we have both the go home show for Revolution but Tony Khan himself is also making a major announcement. That could go a lot of different ways and I’m curious to see what he has next. Other than that, we need the final push towards Sunday and we should be in for something good. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tony Schiavone is in the ring with Tony Khan for the big announcement. Khan talks about how far AEW has come in three years and how proud he is of everyone, including the fans. He has also been a fan of another company that started twenty years ago called Ring of Honor. That’s why he is proud to announce that as of today, he is officially the owner of Ring of Honor Wrestling. Two of the men in the first Ring of Honor main event are here in AEW and that’s our opening match. Bryan Danielson vs. Christopher Daniels Danielso..

WATCH: AEW Signs A Brand New Star (And This One Is A Bit Different)

The roster keeps growing. There are a lot of incredibly talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and the combination they have put together is a major reason for their success. AEW has found a great balance between all kinds of wrestlers and as a result, they are able to offer all kinds of matches and feuds. Some of their wrestlers are quite young, but now the company has reached another level. Over the weekend, Nick Wayne faced Christopher Daniels in the main event of a Defy Wrestling event. Following the match, AEW’s Darby Allin came to the ring and offered Wayne an AEW contract. After thinking about it for a few moments, Wayne accepted the deal, but it is not that simple. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the deal is similar to an apprenticeship, as Wayne is sixteen years old and must graduate high school. Once he is 18 years old, he will be a fully contracted wrestler. This was a special moment. Check out the surprise contract offer: [This post contains video, click to play] A..

Stick Around: Former AEW Champion Signs New Deal

Stick around for awhile. AEW has come a long way in just over three years of existence. There have been a lot of wrestlers who have appeared for the company in that time, but there has been a group who have been around since the beginning. That is not the biggest surprise, but the question becomes how many of them are going to stay around for the long term. Now we know another one who will be sticking around. According to PWInsider.com, Frankie Kazarian has signed a new contract with AEW, though there is no word on how long the new deal will last. Kazarian was one of the first signings for the company and, along with Christopher Daniels as SCU, held the AEW Tag Team Titles, marking the first reign in the titles’ history. He most recently appeared last week on Dynamite, losing to Lance Archer. Opinion: Keeping Kazarian around is certainly a good thing, as he is the kind of wrestler who can work well with anyone. That is a very valuable person to have around, as he can be a star in his..

NWA World Champion Nick Aldis Celebrates Huge Career Milestone

NWA World Heavyweight champion Nick Aldis is one of the most respected talents working in the pro wrestling industry today. The National Treasure has faced a variety of challengers during his second title reign, which began when he defeated Cody at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show. Now Aldis is celebrating an anniversary of his own, as that second title win took place on October 21, 2018. The champ is now 700 days into his run and shows no signs of slowing down. Nick Aldis is highly regarded as a top world champion because of his work in the ring, as well as his character work on the mic. He’s a throwback heel champion, much in the same vein as Ric Flair and Harley Race, both of whom were former NWA World Champions. Aldis has defended the title all over the world against a variety of opponents, including Tommy Dreamer, Christopher Daniels, Brian Cage, Flip Gordon and Jake Hager. 700 days. pic.twitter.com/T558f5Oaws — Nick Aldis (@RealNickAldis) September 19, 2020 His match against C..

AEW Dark Results – March 3, 2020

If you would like to see this show for free, you can watch it in full right here: Dark Date: March 3, 2020 Location: Wintrust Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Excalibur, Taz So there was an episode of Dark on Friday but where would we be without getting to see the other match that took place before Revolution? Ignoring the big question of why we needed another one aside from having this one match for this show, there are a lot of interviews to go with the single match. Let’s get to it. We look at Colt Cabana saving SCU from the Dark Order on the pre-show. Colt Cabana has been friends with the people who run this company and he’s glad to be here, even though he hasn’t signed a contract. If the Dark Order wants to do this, let’s go. He’s got SCU’s backs and the Elite’s backs if they want him. A fired up Christopher Daniels doesn’t think there is an Exalted One behind the Dark Order. SCU and Cabana are ready to fight the Dark Order. Quick look at Nyla Rose retaining the Women’..

Video: Watch Jerry Lawler Dance With Rikishi In A Very Nice Tribute To Brian Christopher

Keeping it in the family. Last year, Brian Christopher, better known as Grandmaster Sexay, passed away at the age of forty six. Christopher was a fairly successful wrestler over his career with his highest level of fame coming as part of the team Too Cool, also including Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi. Their dance act was rather popular, and that popularity continues to this day and this weekend in particular. On Saturday night, Christopher’s father Jerry Lawler and former partner Rikishi appeared at a Memphis Grizzlies game for part of their Grind City Wrestling night. Rikishi and Lawler performed the Too Cool dance on the court, with Lawler performing Christopher’s part. Before the dance, Rikishi talked about how Christopher was his friend and Lawler said it would be an honor to take his son’s part. There were other wrestlers in attendance for the evening as well, including the Steiner Brothers and Buff Bagwell. These are some kind words. Check out Rikishi’s speech: [This post contain..

WWE Hall of Famer to Donate Brain to CTE Research

The past few years have educated the wrestling world on concussion-related injuries. Specifically, research into Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) has helped athletes all over the world understand the effects of such incidents as concussions on their body. CTE is known to be a progressive degenerative disease often found due to repetitive brain trauma. This is consistent with athletes such as football players and, as you could imagine, wrestlers. Christopher Nowinski, the co-founder and President of the Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) was a guest on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio. During the show, Nowinski went into detail as to what the foundation does and what work they’ve been able to accomplish. Before ever being involved in research, Nowinski was a finalist on Tough Enough many years ago. He debuted on TV for WWE in 2002 but was forced to retire late 2003 to early 2004 due to a post-concussion syndrome. In fact, Nowinski helped with the discovery of CTE and was t..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – December 12, 2018

Ring of Honor Date: December 12, 2018 Location: Stage AE, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Commentators: Colt Cabana, Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s the go home show for Final Battle and most of the card is actually set for the only time of the year. I could go for more of that but ROH would rather have the ridiculous scheduling for whatever reason. On top of that this is likely the last time we’ll be seeing the major stories this year as we tend to get Best Of shows to close out December. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of SCU’s contract situation and Christopher Daniels agreeing to have his last match against Marty Scurll at Final Battle with a World Title shot on the line. Opening sequence. Silas Young vs. Flip Gordon Fallout from a few weeks back where Gordon got caned. Hang on though as Flip asks if Silas is really the Last Real Man. If he’s that serious, let’s make this an I Quit match as a Final Battle preview. Silas kicks him down and says it’s on. Gordon is in trouble e..
