AEW Revolution 2023 Results

Revolution 2023 Date: March 5, 2023 Location: Chase Center, San Francisco, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Jim Ross We’re back with another AEW pay per view and that should mean something really good. The television shows haven’t been the strongest in recent weeks but that has never stopped the pay per views from being special. The main event will feature MJF defending the World Title against Bryan Danielson in an Iron Man match, which should be…uh, long. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Lucha Bros/Mark Briscoe vs. Varsity Athletes/Ari Daivari Mark Sterling are here with the Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese/Josh Woods) and Daivari. Nese poses at Penta to start but Penta is right back with CERO MIEDO. All six come in to strike it out with Penta and Nese being left alone in the ring. Made In Penta gives Penta a quick two before Daivari has to save Sterling. The villains take over on Penta by whipping him into the corner and Woods adds a suplex for two. The Athletes double suplex Penta ..

AEW Revolution 2023 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team. Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..

Ouch: AEW Personality Says He Might Have Suffered A Broken Jaw This Week

That’s one way to go. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling, some of which can be a lot more serious than others. As a physical sport, you never know when you are going to see someone get hurt in the course of a match. At the same time, there are also injury angles that are used to progress a story. The latter seems to be true in this case, and someone has something to say about it. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Mend: Update On Injured AEW Star’s Recovery Status This week’s edition of Dark: Elevation saw Tony Nese and Ari Daivari face the Lucha Bros. During the match, the Lucha Bros superkicked Nese and Daivari’s manager Mark Sterling. Following the match, Sterling said that “they think my jaw might be broken”. Sterling also bragged about the ratings for the show being so high. There is nothing to indicate that this is anything more than a storyline. In regards to tonight’s @AEW main event… I’m ok. First, It was a heinous attack and they think my jaw might be broken. Secon..

Triple Threat: Three Superstars Make Surprise Returns On AEW Dynamite

They’re back. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be gone from a show and it can make for quite a moment when they make their return. You might see a wrestler’s return advertised or it might come as a surprise, but what matters is how they come back for a big event. That was the situation this week, with three wrestlers making their returns on the same show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: Reigning Champion Officially Signs With AEW Three returns took place on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. First, the Lucha Bros returned to help Mark Briscoe deal with Tony Nese and Ari Daivari. The team had been off television due to visa issues. Later, Christian Cage returned and reignited his feud with Jungle Boy, laying him out with the Killswitch. Cage had been out of action since September with an arm injury. It was a special night. They’re Working On It: Multiple AEW Stars Missing From Television For The Time Being

They’ll be back. AEW has several strengths and one of them is the depth of its roster. The company has so many wrestlers from around the world who are well versed in different styles and techniques, allowing for different kinds of matches. One of the drawbacks of this is having wrestlers miss time due to international issues, which seems to be the case again for several names. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Catch You Later: Former WWE Champion Gone For The Time Being According to Wrestling Observer Radio, several AEW stars are currently missing due to visa issues. This includes both of the Lucha Bros as well as Bandido, who have not wrestled on television since January. There is no word on when they will be back in the ring or on AEW TV. This comes after Kenny Omega was forced to miss some shows before returning a few weeks later. There is some talent missing from AEW TV. Check out what is coming back: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

That’s In A Name: WWE Quickly Drops Team Name Due To Similarity To Adult Film Company

They probably should have looked into that. The right name is an important aspect of any wrestler, as you never want someone to be given a name that is going to make them feel like a joke. Occasionally you will see someone get a name which has to be changed for one reason or another, and now that is the case with a pair of WWE stars who had quite the problem with their collective name. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s Unique: WWE Star Reveals Lengthy Absence Due To A Ruptured Breast Implant Earlier this month, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre formed a tag team which was unofficially named the Banger Brothers. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the name was dropped due to its similarity to an adult film company called Bang Bros. Sheamus and McIntyre have continued to team together, though WWE commentary made fun of the Banger Bros name during the Royal Rumble. They’re still good. Check out the team together and apart: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contain..

One More Ride? Update On The Shield Reuniting In WWE Anytime Soon

Don’t get your hopes up. There have been a lot of great stables throughout WWE’s history, with some of the better ones being around in recent years. It makes sense for a stable to be successful in modern wrestling, as there is a heck of a lot more television time for the teams to dominate. WWE name dropped a very successful stable recently, but a reunion does not seem likely. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Nikki Cross Teases Return Of Former Stable Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and United States Champion Theory had a face to face confrontation. During their talk, Theory said that Rollins was the third most successful member of the Shield. This comes as WWE recently finished celebrating the ten year anniversary of the Shield’s WWE debut at Survivor Series 2012. This led to some speculation about a possible Shield reunion in WWE, but this is not likely at the time. Earlier this year, Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose of the Shield) signed a new deal with AEW, which..

WWE Celebrating a Decade of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins

Believe. WWE is beginning a special event in the month of November that commemorates the 10-year anniversary of Roman Reigns and Seth “Freakin” Rollins making their debut with the company. From WWE.com: Ten years ago this month, the WWE Universe was first introduced to two Superstars who would go on to change the face of sports-entertainment, Roman Reigns and Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Alongside their Shield teammate Dean Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins emerged from the crowd on Nov. 18, 2012, to interrupt the main event of that year’s Survivor Series, setting in motion two careers that have forever since been intertwined. Since that seminal night, The Head of the Table and The Visionary have become nothing short of WWE’s standard-bearers. They’ve won World Championships (including Reigns’ currently held Undisputed WWE Universal Title), headlined WWE’s biggest Premium Live Events and consistently been the talk of the WWE Universe, both as beloved fan-favorites and controversial rulebreake..

Maybe Later: Grudge Match Officially Pulled From Summerslam Card Due To Injury

The card is subject to change. We are less than a week away from Summerslam and that means the card is mostly set up. There is not much time left to change things around but every now and then, WWE will wait for the last minute to switch things up, and that is the case again this time. Unfortunately, it seems to be that it is due to an injury to one of the wrestlers. This week on the Bump, it was announced that Seth Rollins vs. Riddle has been pulled from the Summerslam card. Riddle was injured during an attack from Rollins on Monday Night Raw, resulting in Riddle suffering a stinger. The match has officially been postponed, but according to Fightful Select, is scheduled to take place at Clash At The Castle. Riddle’s injury is storyline only and he is cleared to compete. BREAKING: @WWERollins injured @SuperKingofBros with a vicious attack on #WWERaw that resulted in a brachial plexus injury (a stinger). Riddle is medically disqualified until full strength returns. Due to this injury..

Yes, Again: Another AEW Star Hurt During Rampage Match

Yes again, but not too bad. AEW has a very talented roster but the company has been going through a nasty run of injuries in recent months. The company has had one wrestler injured after another and some of the wrestlers have been out of action over and over. That is the kind of thing that can take time to get over but thankfully the most recent injury might not be so bad. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s Rey Fenix was injured during the Lucha Bros vs. Private Party match on Rampage. Fenix was injured taking an atomic drop, hurting his ankle in the process. However, Fenix is said to be ok and has since wrestled another match in Mexico since the injury. It is not expected that he will be missing any time from AEW as a result. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that keeps happening in some way in AEW and there comes a point where it isn’t a run of bad luck or coincidences. I don’t know if AEW wrestlers are trying to go too fast or if they need more time in the ring or what,..

Yes Again: Another AEW Star Injured, How Long He’ll Be Out Of Action

Another one down. AEW is in a weird place as the company has been dealing with an incredible series of injuries. That is the kind of thing that can slow anyone down and you never want to see it happen to anyone, but AEW has had one issue after another. Now they have another one on the injured list, though in this case it might not be as bad as some of the others. AEW President Tony Khan has announced that Andrade El Idolo was injured in a match against Rey Fenix three weeks ago. El Idolo has still been able to make appearances, including being ringside this week on Rampage, but has not bee able to wrestle. Following the announcement, El Idolo sent out a tweet saying that he will be back in a week or two and said the injury is nothing serious. There is no word on what kind of an injury El Idolo suffered. He’ll be ringside for Private Party vs Lucha Bros on #AEWRampage on @TNTdrama tonight, he’s been hurt since the classic vs @ReyFenixMx 3 weeks ago. He got @IsiahKassidy & @Marq_Quen t..

REVIEW: Money In The Bank 2015: A Bunch Of Ladders

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Money in the Bank 2015 Date: June 14, 2015 Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Commentators: Jerry Lawler, John Bradshaw Layfield, Michael Cole It’s already time to crown a new Mr. Money in the Bank, just two and a half months after Seth Rollins cashed in during the main event of Wrestlemania XXXI. In addition to the ladder match, the main event is…..another ladder match! Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Title against Dean Ambrose after saying he doesn’t need the Authority’s help. Let’s g..

WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins From Money in the Bank 2016

Believe In The Shield. WWE has released a new video on YouTube, in which they show the full match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins from the 2016 Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Dean Ambrose, who won the “Money in the Bank” briefcase earlier in the evening, would strike while the iron was hot, and cash in his contract to become the new champion. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The Architect fought like a man looking to reclaim both his title and his pride, facing Reigns for the first time without The Authority or J&J Security ready to intervene on his behalf. Some early ring rust aside, Rollins quickly showed he still possessed the skills that took him to the top. But going toe-to-toe with “The Guy” proved to be a poor strategy when Reigns used his strength advantage to overpower his foe with clotheslines, headbutts and a tilt-a-whirl slam to the reeling Rollins. The Architect remained defiant, if not compet..

REVIEW: Money In The Bank 2017: Climb Faster!

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Money in the Bank 2017 Date: June 18, 2017 Location: Scottrade Center, St. Louis, Missouri Commentators: Tom Phillips, John Bradshaw Layfield, Byron Saxton It’s time to climb. Tonight is all about the ladders and the briefcases, which could be cashed in tonight, assuming we have a bit of luck. This has the potential to be an interesting show with a five match card, though two of them are major ladder matches whose entrances alone will take about ten minutes. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Hype Bros vs. Colons Th..

AEW Rampage Results – June 3, 2022

Rampage Date: June 3, 2022 Location: Toyota Arena, Ontario, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re done with Double Or Nothing and a pretty solid Dynamite so things are looking up. The main event tonight is for the TNT Title as Scorpio Sky defends against Dante Martin, but there is also an announcement from CM Punk about the future of the World Title. That sounds a bit ominous so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros Adam Cole is on commentary. Penta and Matt trade hand gestures to start so Matt has to escape the Fear Factor. Matt also has to escape getting his arm broken so it’s a standoff into double tags to Fenix and Nick. An exchange of flips let us have a handshake but Matt gets in a cheap shot from behind. A Cannonball/running kick to the head combination in the corner have Fenix in more trouble, with Nick following up with the running flip dive. Penta hits the big dive onto both Bucks though and Fenix adds one of his own. Back in..

WWE Offers Medical Update On Two Banged Up Stars

They’re a bit banged up. WWE has a lot of television time available to them and it can be difficult to find ways to fill in all of that time. The company has several wrestlers available to help, but sometimes they need to make a few changes for the sake of a little freshening up. That seems to be the case again, as we might not be seeing a pair of stars, at least for a little bit. The main event of this week’s SmackDown saw the Usos defeat RKBro to unify the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Titles. Following the match, the Bloodline attacked RKBro and laid both of them out, including putting Riddle through the announcers’ table. After the show, WWE released a medical update on Riddle and Randy Orton. Riddle has suffered a bruised hip and lower back while Orton will be undergoing a medical evaluation. There is no word on when the two will be back in the ring. UPDATE: @SuperKingofBros and @RandyOrton are undergoing medical evaluation following #TheBloodline's vicious attack on #SmackDow..

WATCH: The Shield vs. Evolution From WWE Extreme Rules 2014

When factions collide. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between The Shield and Evolution from WWE Extreme Rules 2014. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: Evolution worked over their opposition methodically. “Bootista” chants rained down as The Animal worked over his prey, and Ambrose looked downright punch-drunk after an exchange with Triple H, which ended with a fierce spinebuster by the 13-time World Champion. The Hounds of Justice would not be denied, though. The trio’s Lunatic Fringe turned the tides with a DDT on Triple H, and once Reigns found his way into the contest, he turned into a one-man wrecking crew, taking out Orton, Batista, and Triple H in succession. The Shield looked to have the match locked up when they struck Batista with a Triple Powerbomb, yet savvy veterans Orton and Triple H prevented the pinfall. Reigns subsequently ate a Pedigree and an R..

An Infamous WWE Stable Had A Very Different Original Plan

It isn’t how he drew it up. Stables have been a constant factor in wrestling for a very long time, with some of the most famous names in wrestling history having been a part of one at some point. They are an easy to understand concept and allow multiple wrestlers to get television time at once. There have been some rather memorable ones over the years, but one of them was envisioned very different. Heath Slater appeared on Stories With Brisco And Bradshaw and discussed the origins of 3MB. Slater came up with the idea of putting a stable together with him, originally wanting Johnny Curtis (better known as Fandango), Dean Ambrose and EC3 on the team. After pitching the three names, he was told that WWE already had plans for Ambrose and Curtis and that EC3 wasn’t happening. Three weeks later, Slater was told that Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal would be his band instead, as that is what Vince McMahon wanted. The team debuted on September 21, 2012 until June 12, 2014 when Mahal and McIntyr..

WWE Confirms Another WrestleMania 38 Title Match (And It’s Bigger Than Before)

Put them on the list. We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and the card is mostly put together. There are still a lot of wrestlers that need something to do at the show though and that can be a rather narrow selection for some people. There aren’t a lot of spots for some wrestlers but now two of them have their WrestleMania spots officially locked in. The official WrestleMania Twitter account has announced that RKBro will defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against the Street Profits and the Alpha Academy in a triple threat at WrestleMania 38. This is the first time that the match has been made official after RKBro accepted the Profits’ challenge last week on Monday Night Raw, with Alpha Academy attacking both teams after the challenge was accepted. The match will take place on Night Two of WrestleMania on April 3. #RKBro will defend the #WWERaw Tag Team Championship in a Triple Threat Match at #WrestleMania 38!@RandyOrton @SuperKingofBros @MontezFordWWE @AngeloDawkins @ot..

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2015: The Bonus Show

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Elimination Chamber 2015 Date: May 31, 2015 Location: American Bank Center, Corpus Christi, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Booker T., Jerry Lawler It’s another pay per view just two weeks after Payback but the card has been put together fairly well this time. The main event this time is WWE World Champion Seth Rollins defending against Dean Ambrose, plus the Tag Team Titles and Intercontinental Title being decided inside the Chamber, both for the first time ever. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Zack Ryder vs. Stard..
