NXT Results – June 17, 2020

NXT Date: June 17, 2020 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Beth Phoenix, Mauro Ranallo After everything that happened last week, we could be in for a big night. Well actually we could be in for some big nights on July 1 and 8, as AEW’s Fyter Fest probably need some competition. That could be set up tonight, but we also have some guest stars with Bayley and Sasha Banks. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Imperium vs. Breezango Breezango is challenging and do their own version of the Imperium (or Emporium, under the names of Marsupial and Fabio). As you might guess, Imperium doesn’t like this and Aichner takes Breeze down with an armbar to start. Breeze is sent outside and into the Plexiglas as a WE WANT FABIO chant starts up. The chinlock doesn’t last long as Breeze fights up and sends Barthel to the floor. The hot tag brings in Fandango and the big dive to the floor takes out the champs as we go to a brea..

We Missed The Last Dance. A WWE Tag Team May Be Done With Little Fanfare.

Well they were nice while they lasted. It’s hard to say where things are going to go in the WWE. You might see a person go from a singles wrestler to a tag wrestler to being a manager or almost all points in between. It’s the nature of the business and sometimes someone is a great fit in one area but not so much in the others. At the moment, something that seemed successful might have come to an end. According to Tyler Breeze via Twitter, his team with Fandango, collectively known as Breezango, may be finished. Breeze was asked on Twitter to name a tag team that didn’t get enough love. Breeze responded “Breezan…never mind”, suggesting that the team is no more. Fandango has been recovering from an injury and has yet to make his return to TV. It is currently not known when he will be back or what he will be doing upon return. Breezan….. never mind ? https://t.co/s8hKV9N5ut — Prince Pretty (@MmmGorgeous) March 23, 2019 These guys can look like stars. Check out their appearance on 205 ..

WWE May Be Planning More Frequent Surprises For NXT

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, WWE may actually be planning on having more frequent surprises for those who attend NXT live events. Recently, former NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival showed up at an NXT live event and were subsequently featured on a string of shows. Tyler Breeze of Breezango also popped in for a Jacksonville live event during the same weekend. If Alvarez is to be believed, WWE will be doing more of these surprises for NXT shows to remind fans of the talent on offer that isn’t being used on WWE main roster TV. Alvarez had the following to say: “As you can see from last weekend, they are slowly starting to have some of the guys who aren’t being used much, Revival. I think you may see some others as well, showing up at NXT live events which should be happening.” Only time will tell if this does happen, but there certainly isn’t a lack of talent to draw upon. As you can imagine, Wrestling Rumors will continue to update you if more news does com..

EXCLUSIVE SPOILERS For WWE Raw 4/16/18: Some Planned Superstar Shakeup Names

WWE is headed for another big week, with their Superstar Shakeup going down. As first revealed on FightfulSelect.com, Dolph Ziggler will debut for the Raw brand in tonight's Superstar Shakeup. Ziggler has spent time on the Smackdown Live brand, but has been without much direction, despite becoming a WWE United States Champion late last year. Despite neither winning their match last week on WWE Raw, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will both appear on Raw again this week to participate in a ten-man tag team main event. They'll team with the Miztourage against Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley and a star who will appear during the Miz TV segment tonight. Also set to switch brands are the duo of Fandango and Tyler Breeze, collectively known as Breezango, and sometimes the Fashion Police. There is also a gap on the script rundown where Mandy Rose's opponent is supposed to be, so look for a new face to pop up there, as well. You can hear all about tonight&..

Tyler Breeze Discusses Being “Misused” at the Main Roster

Tyler Breeze was recently interviewed by The Whig, where he discussed a number of topics. Among them were participating in WrestleMania 34, being patient in the professional wrestling industry, being “misused” on the main roster and more. Breeze is most known for being a part of the Tag Team known as Breezango, along with his partner, Fandango. Below is a clip of them from the recent “Fastlane” pay-per-view: [This post contains video, click to play] Below are some highlights from the interview: On participating in WrestleMania 34: “We’re trying to look toward getting ourselves a tag title match on that show. I don’t really see a reason why we shouldn’t be added to the mix,” said the 30-year-old, whose real name is Mattias Clement. On being patient in WWE: “Everybody has their time,” he said. “It’s all about patience. I know it’s very easy to get frustrated and sit there and say, ‘Why me?’ but it’s all about patience. We have an extremely talented roster and everybody eventually..

Fastlane 2018 Date: March 11, 2018 Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves So this is a thing that exists for reasons that I don’t quite grasp. With four weeks to go before Wrestlemania, we have this stop for the final Smackdown pay per view before the big show. The main event is a Six Pack Challenge for the Smackdown World Title as there was no other way to break things up and add another match to a six match card. Let’s get to it. Here’s last week’s “Smackdown” if you need a recap. Kickoff Show: Tye Dillinger/Breezango vs. Mojo Rawley/Chad Gable/Shelton Benjamin Gable throws Breeze down to start and calls him a joke. Just don’t insult his shoes. Fandango comes in and puts on some amateur wrestling headgear, allowing Gable to take him down as well. It’s back to Breeze so Gable drops down to give him a shot. Breeze rides him like a horse and the good guys clear the ring in short order. Gable comes back in with a hard monk..

The Taz Show Recap – Smackdown Analysis, Defending Roman Reigns, Lana Readying for A Title Run, More!

<h1>Blocks 1 & 2:</h1><p>Taz says that he didn’t think last night’s episode of Smackdown Live was very good for a ‘go-home’ show. It was an average show at best, but it should have been more <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/given/" title="given">given</a></strong> that it was the last show before Money in the Bank this coming Sunday.</p><p>Taz says that he liked the ladder match tease which ended the show, where Nakamura reached up and grabbed the briefcase. He thought this did a good job of promoting the ladder match and driving people to the PPV this Sunday, but this was the only part of the show to do so.</p><p></p><p>He didn’t like that during Jinder <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/mahal/" title="Mahal">Mahal</a></strong>’s promo, The Singh Brothers were also standing on the area rug along with Mahal. He believes that mat should be solely for Mahal, and if he was the only person who was allowed to stand on it, it would seem far more important. He liked <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/randy-orton" title="Randy Orton">Randy Orton</a></strong>’s RKO out of nowhere, and he thought that spot was very well executed by the talent and captured perfectly by the cameraman.</p><p>Taz thought the 8-man tag team match between The Usos/Colons & Breezango/New Day was pretty entertaining. He adds that WWE is giving their viewers a lot of Breezango lately with in-ring matches as well as the Fashion File segments, and he urges them to be careful as to not over-expose the emerging team.</p>

WWE SmackDown Live Results – 13 June 2017

Tonight’s match gives a couple of guys a chance to gain some much-needed momentum heading into the all-important match on Sunday night.</p><p>Ahead of their huge title rematch at Money in the Bank, Randy Orton comes face-to-face with Jinder Mahal.  Sunday’s show is set in Randy’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, so can he win his 14th World Heavyweight Championship. I would expect fireworks to happen tonight with Orton taking the fight to Mahal and The Singh Brothers!</p><p>Also on tonight’s show, Breezango will tag with The New Day to take on The Uso’s and The Colon’s. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/naomi" title="Naomi">Naomi</a></strong> is set to face Tamina in singles competition, which is a big opportunity for the second generation star. Naomi’s challenger at MITB, Lana , could cost her the match and give Tamina some huge momentum. On top of that, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong> also faces Charlotte ahead of their big ladder match.</p><p>All that and more to look forward to on tonight’s SmackDown Live! The Backlash from Backlash: What’s Next for Smackdown

<p>They actually did it, you guys. The absolute madmen, they actually did it. Jinder Mahal beat Randy Orton at Backlash to become the WWE Champion. Not only that, but he is the 50th person to hold the title. He’s now in the same league as men like The Rock, Stone Cold, Bret Hart, and Hulk Hogan.</p><p>Meanwhile, Kevin Owens retained the US title by trapping AJ Styles’ leg in an announce table. Natalya beat Becky Lynch (no surprise there) to pick up a victory for the Welcoming Committee. Shinsuke Nakamura finally had a match. Obviously all of these have repercussions and consequences, so let’s try to figure out how the Smackdown environment will change.</p><h4>The Tag Team Division</h4><p></p><p>Unfortunately, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tyler-breeze" title="Tyler Breeze">Tyler Breeze</a></strong> and Fandango were not able to pick up a win (and the Smackdown Tag Team Championship) at Backlash. They lost to the Usos, who resorted to sort of underhanded tactics to win. This “tainted” win will most likely mean that this feud is not over.</p><p>Unfortunately it really feels like the tag team division is spinning its wheels until the New Day can arrive. While they put on quite a match and won our hearts, Breezango ultimately feel like placeholder contenders to be fed to the Usos while New Day is on hold. With the Hype Bros out and American Alpha MIA (hopefully doing a hard reset), there was clearly no one else left to challenge the Usos.</p><p>This most likely means that Breezango gets one more match and then brutalized to give the Usos some heat. With the ever looming threat of the New Day hanging over the tag division, I expect the Usos will be keeping the titles warm for the them to take.</p><h4>The United States Championship</h4><p></p><p>Kevin Owens barely won the match. After securing a count-out victory, Owens proclaimed that he was better than AJ Styles. Styles, of course, will not take that lying down. He will most likely demand a rematch. Not that there’s anything wrong with that as they put on a great match.</p><p>Maybe at Money in the Bank, Styles and Owens will lock horns again. Hopefully this time there will be a decisive winner. The question is, will it be AJ Styles or will Kevin Owens hold onto the gold?</p><p>Styles has just come off one of the best debut years in recent history. He debuted in a WWE Championship match, was in the main event of two pay-per-views within the first four months of his WWE career, beat John Cena clean as a whistle, and became WWE Champion. Meanwhile Kevin Owens became Universal Champion, was unable to successfully defend it without interference, and lost to Goldberg in under 30 seconds. Who needs a win more?</p><p>I feel that Owens will retain the US title, which will free up Styles to re-enter the WWE title picture. That’s already starting to look crowded, but in a good way. Meanwhile Owens can defend the title against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong> or <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tye-dillinger" title="Tye Dillinger">Tye Dillinger</a></strong>. Both of those programs show promise.</p><h4>The Women’s Division</h4><p></p><p>The Welcoming Committee have firmly established their dominance over the whole division (read: six people) at Backlash by making Becky Lynch tap out to Natalya. The backlash from this? We’re about to find out.</p><p>Charlotte is still gunning after the Women’s Championship, but there are other sharks circling about. Carmella can claim a shot at the title, because she pinned Naomi. As they say, you pin the champion, you get a title match.</p><p>Natalya, however, also may have a few words to say. She won the match for her team, which means she beat Naomi and Charlotte. She beat the champion and the number one contender. Surely that boosts her standing a little? Either way, Naomi has new foes to face.</p><p>She is probably going to drop the title soon, most likely to Charlotte. Hopefully this will allow for a Becky Lynch v. Charlotte match at Summerslam where Becky can pick up the win. It’s been so long since she has won.</p><h4>The WWE Championship</h4><p>The million dollar question now is this: what’s going to happen to the WWE Championship? Jinder Mahal is for sure not holding onto the title for very long.</p><p>Orton was kicking his ass decisively until the Singh Brothers came along and Randy casually murdered them. Randy Orton is not someone you want as your enemy.</p><p>There’s also Rusev demanding a title shot. While he hasn’t shown up yet, surely they’ll humor him. He’s on the hunt, and right now his target is Jinder Mahal. If all goes well, Rusev will have a match at Money in the Bank.</p><p>Money in the Bank. You know, where someone gets an opportunity for a WWE Championship match anytime and anywhere? That thing? Yeah, it’s happening next month. So now the champion has to potentially deal with Randy Orton, Rusev, and Mr. Money in the Bank. It could be Baron Corbin, or Sami Zayn. Heck, it could even be Erick Rowan. This is going to be an interesting title picture for the next few months.</p>

Reasons Why Backlash Will Be A Great Show on Sunday

<p>This Sunday, Backlash will grace our screens. Many bemoaned the event’s lackluster build-up. Jinder Mahal is challenging for the WWE Championship. The women’s division is caught in a six-man tag team match that doesn’t look too promising. Many would even say that Smackdown has lost its groove. While it may be true, Backlash still looks exciting. Hopefully the event sets in motion a return to action and excellence for the blue brand. Even if it doesn’t, it looks like it will be hard to be disappointed with Backlash.</p><h4>Luke Harper Fights Erick Rowan</h4><p></p><p>This doesn’t sound too exciting, I know. Erick Rowan’s wrestling skills are quite pedestrian. It’s hard to imagine him having a match on pay-per-view. Yet here he is. The reason this match has a lot of promise, though, is because of Rowan’s opponent, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/luke-harper" title="Luke Harper">Luke Harper</a></strong>.</p><p>Harper was on a roll on the Road to Wrestlemania. For a while, it seemed like he would be added to the WWE Championship match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. He wasn’t, but fans were behind the big man, and it wasn’t hard to see why. He had an organic face turn in a well-crafted story (that bombed in the end, but it was good for a while), and he is a skilled athlete. He’s tall and heavy, but he can perform frankensteiners and suicide dives as if he was significantly lighter. He was given time to develop his character, and the fans loved it. Combine all of this with Erick Rowan’s unsettling Talking Smack promo, an you have a match with a surprising amount of potential.</p><p>Rowan is the potential perfect counterpart for Harper. Harper will shine in this match, which is what many of us want to see. Hopefully their styles can mesh well and they can deliver a good match.</p><h4>Breezango Is Getting a Championship Match</h4><p></p><p>People often talk about Cesaro or <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong> being underutilized. They may be, but at least they appear on TV regularly. Not Breezango, though. Last month, many people even forgot they existed. Fandango has been on the roster for almost a decade. How many Fandango matches can you name?</p><p>Both <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tyler-breeze" title="Tyler Breeze">Tyler Breeze</a></strong> and Fandango are criminally underrated performers. Wrestlers like Dolph Ziggler have praised Breeze’s skill. He was part of a 5-star match, for goodness’ sake. As for Fandango, he’s not even bad in the ring. He’s more than capable of having good matches. Together both men work well, and their charisma and charm works well. They’re also quite funny, and it’s nice to see them getting such a high-profile match.</p><p>However, standing in their way is the Usos. Many people didn’t like them, but the Usos are quite skilled at this whole “wrestling” thing. Look back at their matches with American Alpha over the Tag Team Championship. Those were TV matches, but by god they felt like PPV quality matches. It’s insane.</p><p>The two teams had an exciting contest last year on the Battleground pre-show, so there’s no reason for them not to have another good match.</p>

Could A Major Swerve Occur At Backlash?

<p>Thanks to the most recent episode of Smackdown Live, my interest in Backlash has reached new highs. Jinder going over AJ (even though he had help) has made me a believer that he really stands a chance against Randy Orton in their WWE Championship match. The Usos dropped one awesome promo on Breezango, and I absolutely loved it despite my ill feelings toward them. Even <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/erick-rowan" title="Erick Rowan">Erick Rowan</a></strong> showing just what kind of character he can be on Talking Smack has me excited for his match as well.</p><p>While all of these matches are intriguing, it’s the women’s tag match that has me intrigued the most. The newest babyface of Smackdown, Charlotte, will team up with <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/naomi" title="Naomi">Naomi</a></strong> and Becky Lynch to take on The Welcoming Committee of Smackdown Live. It’s weird to see Charlotte as a face, but it’s a nice change on a show where change is welcome. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong> and company have made it clear that they do not want Charlotte here, and she shouldn’t be allowed a chance at the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship just because of her past accomplishments on Raw. Technically these women have a point, but they shouldn’t be fighting for the belt either so their opinion is invalid.</p><p>Something about this doesn’t sit right with me. Charlotte seems like the person who should be a natural heel, for her entire career. This is why I see Charlotte turning on Becky and Naomi at Backlash.</p>
