AEW Signs Three New Stars To Full Time Deals

They have a new home. Signing new stars is one of the most important things a promotion has to do. At some point, a company needs to have someone new brought in to freshen things up a bit. It means a lot to bring in someone new that the fans can connect with and respond to, which is what has taken place again. This time though, three new names are officially onboard. Earlier this month, the Kingdom (Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, Maria Kanellis-Bennett) made their AEW debut and challenged FTR. According to Fightful Select, the team has officially signed with AEW but were not under deals when they appeared on Rampage. According to PWInsider.com, the three were officially signed to AEW deals rather than appearing for Ring Of Honor, where they all worked before. Opinion: These are the kinds of signing that make all the sense in the world, as AEW is signing stars who are known around the industry but also fresh in AEW. The team can do some good things for the company and I’m curious to see wh..

Two Title Changes Take Place During The Same Show

There go two of them. Titles are the most important things in wrestling as they identify the biggest stars in any given promotion. Any fan understands the idea of a wrestler holding a shiny gold belt and holding it can mean a lot. It can also mean quite a bit when a title changes hands, which was the case this week, albeit in two rather different fashions entirely. Two titles changed hands this week on Impact Wrestling. First, Frankie Kazarian vacated the X-Division Title he won at Bound For Glory via Option C, earning himself a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. Later in the show, Honor No More’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett lost the Tag Team Titles to Heath and Rhino. This comes after Taven and Bennett made their AEW debuts last week on Rampage. Opinion: That is quite the eventful night and you do not see something like this happen very often. Kazarian had announced that he was going to be vacating the title last week so there was only so much surprise. It was similarly true o..

Three New Stars Make AEW Debuts On Rampage (Contains Mild Spoilers)

They’re up next. AEW has built up a rather diverse and talented roster in its time. The company features a mixture of young, up and coming stars, current names and veterans, who have come together to create a mixture of matches and wrestlers. New names still need to be added though and that was the case again this week as three more names made their AEW debuts. The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw FTR and Shawn Spears defeat the Embassy in a six man tag match. Following the match, the Kingdom, comprised of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis, interrupted in their AEW debuts. The Kingdom and the Embassy then joined forces to attack FTR until Samoa Joe and Wardlow made the save. This comes less than a week after the Kingdom reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. Opinion: You can’t say that Tony Khan isn’t committed to the Ring Of Honor stuff as the brand seems to have landed even more stars. I’m not sure what that is going to mean but at least they have some..

WATCH: Surprise Title Change Takes Place At WWE Live Event

It really can come out of nowhere. Titles are one of the most important things in all of wrestling. They designate who the top stars in the promotion are supposed to be and give the fans something to notice. With so many championships, it can be difficult to find a way to make each one stand out. A gimmick can help, and that was on display this weekend at a live event. WWE referee Aja Smith won the WWE 24/7 Title from Nikki Ash at a WWE live event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday. Ash was scheduled to defend against Dana Brooke but stopped to show Smith, who rolled her up with fellow WWE referee Shawn Bennett counting the pin. Bennett then tried to roll Smith up for the title but only counted his own two. Ash then won the title back and eventually released footage of the whole situation. WWE has done something similar at recent live events, with different referees winning the title. You don’t see this every day. Check out the title changes: [This post contains vide..

There Might Be Some New Free Agent Wrestlers On The Market Soon

That could make things interesting. One of the most interesting things to see in wrestling is a free agent hitting the market. There is so much talent out there and it can be fascinating to see where someone might wind up going. It is something that you get to see every now and then, but now we might be seeing a good number of wrestlers hitting the markets unless something changes. Earlier this year, several former Ring Of Honor wrestlers debuted in Impact Wrestling under the name Honor No More and have stayed with the company since. According to Fightful Select, as of April 1, multiple members of the stable have not been signed to Impact Wrestling. There is no word on which members have been signed or not. The team includes Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven, Vincent, Kenny King and PCO. Eddie Edwards is part of the team but was signed to Impact Wrestling before the rest of the group debuted. Opinion: I’m not sure who is going to wind up sticking with Impact Wrestling and who ..

When worlds collide. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years, as the barriers between promotions have gone down. The separation between companies has lowered as promotions are starting to work together and acknowledge each other more than ever. That has made for some interesting moments, and that was the case again this week, involving a promotion that is only kind of around at the moment. This week on Impact Wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Rok-C to win the Ring of Honor Women’s Title. Following the match, Ring of Honor’s Maria Kanellis-Bennett came to the ring to confront Purrazzo, with several other Ring of Honor wrestlers surrounding her. Impact Wrestling stars attempted to make a save but were attacked as well. This comes after the Ring of Honor stars invaded Hart To Kill, a show that also saw the Ring of Honor World Title defended. More On Ring Of Honor’s Impact Wrestling Invasion

This could be the start of something big. The wrestling world has been changing in a lot of different ways over the last several months, with one of the biggest changes being the end of the original Ring of Honor. The promotion let all of its contracted workers go, meaning they are now available to work elsewhere. A large group of them might have found a new home, and now we might know something more about them. This weekend, Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay per view included an invasion by a group of former Ring of Honor wrestlers. Matt Taven, Vincent, PCO, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis all appeared, with all but Kanellis attacking Eddie Edwards, Rhino, Heath, Rich Swann and Willie Mack. According to PWInsider.com, neither Taven, Vincent, PCO nor Bennett are currently under contract to Ring of Honor. Kanellis’ contract status is unclear but she will be part of the group in Impact Wrestling. It was a big moment. Check out who is coming to Impact Wrestling: [This post contains v..

Ring Of Honor Invades Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill

Nice to meet you? There have been a lot of changes in the wrestling world over the last year and some of those changes have been rather important to say the least. One of the biggest has been the end of the original era for Ring of Honor, as the company is going into hiatus. Those wrestlers are going to have to go somewhere though, and now we know where some of them seem to have landed. This weekend, Impact Wrestling presented their annual Hard To Kill event. Following the Hardcore War between Violent By Design and Eddie Edwards/Rich Swann/Willie Mack/Heath/Rhino, a group of Ring of Honor wrestlers appeared and attacked Edwards and company. This included PCO, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Vincent, accompanied by Maria Kanellis. There is no word on if more Ring of Honor wrestlers will be joining them in the future, though the show did feature a match for the Ring of Honor World Title, with Jonathan Gresham retaining against Chris Sabin. We sense there is a little invasion going on here..

Former Stars May Be Returning To Impact Wrestling

Welcome home. The wrestling landscape has been shaken up in a lot of ways in recent weeks and there is nothing to suggest that the changes are going to be ending anytime soon. Now we know where another one is heading. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mike Bennett is expected to sign with Impact Wrestling. While not confirmed, there is a chance that his wife, Maria Kanellis-Bennett, could join him. Bennett pulled out of a recent independent date, reportedly due to a scheduling issue with Impact Wrestling. During his time in Impact Wrestling, Bennett won the X-Division Title. Bennett did make an impact in his first run with the company. Ring Of Honor TV Results – November 3, 2021

Ring Of Honor Date: November 3, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s time for the Halloween edition, which did air on time in some of the markets so this isn’t that far out of place. I have no idea what to expect around here now that everything has changed, but that kind of fits how Ring of Honor has worked for years. I could go for some more of what they have been doing so this is kind of appropriate. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay gives us the welcome. She also gets to draw the names for the Trick Or Treat match…but we only hear EC3, with the rest of the picks in fast forward. Moderately intriguing, save for EC3 that is. She has her own match this week and needs a replacement, but it needs to be ANYONE but Brian Johnson. Delirious runs down the card. Commentary is in costumes as well, with Ian as a Teletubby, Coleman as Don Cornelius from Soul Train and Maria Kanellis-Bennett as…a woman in a dress..

How Bray Wyatt’s Puppets Almost Wrestled In WWE

What could have been. There are certain characters in wrestling who are about as unique as you can get. No one else can play them and no one else would be able to do it either. That is the kind of special status that you do not get to see very often but it is rather special when it works. WWE has that at the moment, but it was almost taken in a rather different direction. In a new interview with Metro.uk, Mike Bennett, formerly known as Mike Kanellis in WWE, revealed that was scheduled to portray Sister Abigail as part of a new Bray Wyatt faction. Bennett says that Vince McMahon wanted Wyatt to lead a faction again, this time with Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse puppets being portrayed by wrestlers. While Bennett would have been Abigail, Eric Young would have been Mercy the Buzzard. This never came to fruition and Bennett was released from WWE on April 15, 2020. This could have been a mess. Check out what we almost saw and who could have done it: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – May 19, 2021

Ring of Honor Date: May 19, 2021 Location: UMBC Events Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman Last week’s main event was a bit of a bizarre booking decision with Angelina Love and Mandy Leon cutting off the Cinderella story of Quinn McKay, which didn’t exactly leave a lot of good feelings. We’re coming up on I believe Best In The World though so it’s time to start setting some things up. Let’s get to it. Ian Riccaboni welcomes us to the show and runs down the card. Quinn is back next week. The factoids about PCO say that he last wrestl..

VIDEO: Former WWE Star Returns To Ring Of Honor

Welcome home. There are a lot of wrestling promotions in the world other than WWE, even though it has a tendency to get a lot of the attention. That does not mean that there are not very talented wrestlers there doing some very interesting things and that is certainly the case with Ring Of Honor, which has picked up another star who could be quite the asset to them going forward. Back in April, WWE released several dozen wrestlers at the same time. That is the kind of thing that can shake up the wrestling world in a heartbeat and that is exactly what happened, as a lot of those wrestlers were able to find work elsewhere. Some of these wrestlers went back to promotions where they had worked before, and that is the case with one in particular. Glad to see you again. Check out a nice return: https://media.wrestlingrumors.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/24044604/Mike-Bennett.mp4 Ring Of Honor has posted a clip from their most recent television show, which featured the return of Mike Benn..

The tournament is coming up as well so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Sean Mooney previews the show, including two title matches. TV Title: Zicky Dice vs. Ricky Starks Dice is challenging and takes Starks to the mat without much trouble. Starks gets knocked down again and this time Dice wraps his ribs around the post. Rumors on Why WWE Is Splitting Up The Miz & Maryse

<p>There’s a rumor going around on various sites that claim WWE has decided to split <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/the-miz" title="The Miz">The Miz</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/maryse" title="Maryse">Maryse</a></strong> up on RAW because they don’t want two power couples in the company. These reports stem from recent comments made by Dave Meltzer’s on Wrestling Observer Radio, where he speculates what he believes is the reason behind the split between The Miz & Maryse.</p><p><em>“The end result is that they’re doing <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/curtis-axel" title="Curtis Axel">Curtis Axel</a></strong> and Bo Dallas as Miz’s new entourage and they’re dumping Maryse, I guess with the idea that because they’ve got Maria and Mike Bennett on the other brand, they don’t want another husband and wife team or something?”</em> Meltzer said.</p><p>When asked if Maryse was done for now, Meltzer replied, <em>“it looks like it.”</em></p><p>It’s pretty obvious by listening to Meltzer’s remarks that what he said is simply speculation only and not fact. He was saying that he believes that it could be a reason, and didn’t specify directly that it is.</p>
