WATCH: AEW’s Jon Moxley Lands Surprising Sponsorship Deal

Nothing wrong with an extra check. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status. While it is true that they are wrestlers, the top level stars are regularly wrestling in front of a good number of people. At the top level, they are wrestling in front of a national television audience on a regular basis, meaning they are going to be worth something to an advertiser. That is certainly the case with a current star. AEW’s Jon Moxley appeared at the Forbidden Door media scrum with a case of Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer. Moxley mentioned that he was hoping to get a sponsorship from the company. Since then, Athletic Brewing has posted a video to Twitter, showing Moxley at the media scrum and announcing that the two sides had come to terms on a deal. The video ends with Moxley presenting an advertisement for the drink. It’s quite the surprise. Check out the announcement and ad: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That’s one of those things that you ..

Vince McMahon Has A Match At WrestleMania 38 And Then Things Go Bad

The boss leads by example. WrestleMania 38 has come and gone and as expected, it was the biggest event on WWE’s calendar. Anything that happens on the show is going to be worth a look in one way or another, though there are certain thing that will stand out above the others. The biggest story from the first night was an impromptu match and that was the case again on the second night as well. One of the announced matches for the second night of WrestleMania 38 saw Pat McAfee defeat Austin Theory, who had Vince McMahon in his corner. After the match, McMahon and McAfee got into an argument, which resulted in McMahon, 76, getting in the ring for a match with McAfee. McMahon won via interference from Theory, but Steve Austin came out after the match and attempted to give McMahon a Stunner, which did not work as planned. Austin then gave McAfee a Stunner as well and drank beer before leaving. Opinion: Aside from the fact that the Stunner could not have gone worse if they tried, it was ama..

Wrestling Legends Have Different Takes On Kevin Owens’ Steve Austin Impression

The sincerest form of flattery. Wrestlers are almost walking cartoon characters a lot of the time, as they do things that no rational person would ever consider and somehow make it work. That is a style that has worked for the better part of ever in wrestling and it always will. Sometimes you see someone do something very over the top that gets a positive reaction, and that certainly seems to have been the case this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with Kevin Owens coming to the ring to Steve Austin’s theme music, complete with an Austin shirt, Austin’s signature jean shorts and a bald cap. Owens went on to beat up a ringside attendant as Austin did over the years and drank a beer. The segment received some attention online, with Mick Foley praising it and Taz pointing out that Don Callis did something similar at AEW Revolution with Kenny Omega’s music. Taz also said he was expecting more from a company with so many writers. MAN, I LOVE THIS TYPE OF THING! Great job by KO t..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 21, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: March 21, 2022 Location: Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois Commentators: Corey Graves, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton There are two Raws left before Wrestlemania and that means WWE needs to really hammer things home. That is how it should go at least, but you never can tell with what this company is going to do. I’m sure Seth Rollins will be all Wile E. Coyote with one dumb idea after another on his way to his ultimate goal of doing anything at Wrestlemania so let’s get to it. We open with the glass shattering and it’s….Kevin Owens, in an Austin shirt, jean shorts, and a bald cap. Owens does a good enough Austin impression as he insults the crowd for falling for the gag and promises to destroy Austin once and for all at Wrestlemania. Then the glass shatters again, but fool me once and all that, as Owens gets to laugh at the people. After another threat to Austin, Owens calls for some beers (Steve Austin lagers) but can’t catch them. Therefore he yells at the guy to..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 14, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: March 14, 2022 Location: VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Corey Graves, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton We have less than three weeks to go before Wrestlemania and WWE still has a lot of work to do before the show. The big story coming out of last week was Kevin Owens challenging Steve Austin to meet him at Wrestlemania, with Austin accepting the next day. Other than that, it’s time to hear about how wrestlers have no path to the show. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Scott Hall. We open with a look at Kevin Owens’ challenge and Austin accepting. Here is Kevin Owens, who opens with a Hey Yo. He is the happiest Canadian right now because he is going to the main event of Wrestlemania Saturday night. Owens used his superior Canadian intellect to get what he wanted. This draws a USA chant, with Owens saying that everyone, including the USA, will get to see Owens take Austin out. The only can that will be opened is a can of Canadian beer ..

WATCH: Bobby Roode’s Smackdown Debut

Absolutely Glorious! WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full debut of Bobby Roode on the main roster in 2017. He debuted on the August 22 episode of Smackdown Live. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: The fans go INSANE for the entrance and Roode seems to be a face, at least for the night. They take turns posing at each other with Roode clotheslining English to the floor and sending us to a break. Back with English in control but Roode drives him into the corner for some chops. A forearm sets up the Blockbuster as JBL says Roode needs to win to get some beer money. English hits a Director’s Cut for two but walks into a spinebuster. The Glorious DDT ends English at 6:28. Result: Bobby Roode b. Aiden English – Glorious DDT (6:28) Post-match, Roode says everything he does is big box office and in a New York minute Smackdown has gone from great to GLORIOUS. Editor’s Op..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – November 17, 2021

Ring of Honor Date: November 17, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Silas Young The long march to Final Battle continues as we are still in the post-Death Before Dishonor TV tapings. In other words, these are still matches from before all of the company’s future went away, so there might still be a little something here. Then again, I’m not sure how much hope that really is. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and gives us the rundown. Caprice Coleman vs. Beer City Bruiser This is Coleman’s first singles match in a long time and Bruiser has Brian Milonas and Ken Dixon with him. Before the match, Bruiser says Coleman wasn’t an official entrant in the Honor Rumble so he was never eliminated and should be #1 contender. Coleman comes to the ring and Bruiser laughs at the idea of Coleman getting back in the ring….so he can face Dixon instead. Caprice Coleman vs. Ken Dixon Dixon is in jeans and the Bounce..

Redditors Share Their Very “Worst” Ideas For WWE/AEW And It’s Hilarious

Say that again? Wrestling has a long history of outlandish ideas, including Robocop making an appearance, a walking/dancing turkey and a beer swilling redneck from Texas who fancied beating up his boss. Sometimes the zaniest ideas can come from the fans themselves. Redditor u/anonymouspotatoskins recently asked, “What’s the worst idea you’ve had lately but too afraid to share?” Commentors weighed in and thousands of fans upvoted their favorite of the “worst” ideas. Brock Lesnar Channels His Inner IRS IMG Credit: WWE There may be no one more intimidating in the wrestling world than Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate has destroyed almost everyone he has come into contact with over the years, mainly as other worldly strong former amateur wrestling champion. That has worked very well, but what if he had another interest? Lesnar has a reputation of being out to make as much money as possible, and Redditor Tom_Dynamite would like to see that get a sharper focus. He suggests, “Brock becomes..

REVIEW: Death Before Dishonor XVIII: The Next Wrestling Show

Death Before Dishonor 2021 Date: September 12, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s back to pay per view and it’s actually out of Baltimore for a change. As tends to be the case in Ring of Honor, the show has not exactly been built up well, but the company has the ability to throw out a bunch of stuff and make it work. The main event is a four way elimination match for the World Title so let’s get to it. In Memory of Daffney. That’s a nice touch. Pre-Show: Honor Rumble Fifteen man Royal Rumble with ninety second intervals and the winner gets a future World Title shot. Brian Johnson is in at #1 (and gets to talk about how amazing Philadelphia, his hometown, really is) and Brian Milonas is in at #2. The fans are behind Johnson, which has commentary very confused. The much bigger Milonas grabs a front facelock and takes him over to the ropes as he thinks this is a Pure Rules match. Johnson has to escape but it’s Beer C..

WATCH: Miami Dolph Does Awesome Steve Austin Impression

He’s kind of a legend. There are certain names that keep coming up in the history of wrestling greats and Steve Austin is almost always on that list. Austin was a master at just about every aspect of wrestling and his style certainly got him some attention over the years. Various things that he has done over the years have become iconic, and you can still see them around today, which was the case this weekend. There are several things that Austin is noted for and one of the biggest is beer. Austin was famous for drinking several beers after a match, often declaring a beer bash to end his shows. It was such a big part of his persona that he has released his own brand of beer in his retirement. Austin and beer go together, and now another kind of athlete is paying a bit of a tribute to him. You might recognize this. Check out a pretty cool Austin tribute: https://media.wrestlingrumors.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/15022217/Mack-Hollis-Steve-Austin.mp4 The Miami Dolphins have posted a..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – September 9, 2020

Ring of Honor Date: September 9, 2020 Back when the Best Of shows began, I jokingly suggested that we would be getting the Best Of The Bouncers one day if this went on long enough and now that is exactly what we are getting. The team is a fun goofy act, but I’m not sure if we need to see a full show about them. Let’s get to it. Bouncers video. The Bouncers join us via Zoom with both guys being rather pleased with being on the big screen for once. They’re excited that Ring of Honor is going to be back but for now, they’re happy with drinking beer and watching their best fights. They’ll start off with a big match for some titles. From ROH TV, October 3, 2018. Six Man Tag Team Titles: Cody/Young Bucks vs. Silas Young/Bouncers Cody, with Brandi and Bernard, and the Bucks are defending. Matt tries his luck with the massive Milonas to start and gets knocked into the corner without much effort. Bruiser comes in to overpower Nick so everything breaks down with the champs triple dropkicking..

Ring of Honor TV Results – March 18, 2020

Ring of Honor Date: March 18, 2020 Location: UMBC Events Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Caprice Coleman, Ian Riccaboni Host: Quinn McKay This has to be the last show from Baltimore right? If my math is correct, they should have seven or eight weeks of television from their last two shows, but after that it’s going to be interesting in a hurry. These shows have been good so far and hopefully the trend continues this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We open with a recap of Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham winning the Tag Team Titles in a great match at Final Battle. Battle Royal Beer City Bruiser, Brawler Milonas, Tracy Williams, Cheeseburger, Josh Woods, Brian Johnson, PJ Black, Silas Young, Blue Meanie, Rhett Titus, Maria Manic, Gangrel, Delirious, Eli Isom, Kenny King, Dragon Lee, Crowbar, Dak Draper, Danhausen, Leon St. Giovanni The winner gets a future World Title shot. Sheamus and Cesaro Explain Who They’d Like to Face, Pretending to Drink Beer on ‘Raw’

‘Raw‘ Superstars Sheamus and Cesaro were interviewed on Edge & Christian’s Podcast of Awesomeness where they spoke about the bar scene they were involved in and finding new people to face as the Raw Tag Team Champions. Christian asked Sheamus and Cesaro if they gave the team their all when they were first told they’d be teaming. Sheamus responded. “I was in from the beginning, the get-go. We both talked about it, like, where we were, and we battered each other in the best of seven [series] to remind people just how good we were and what we could do. And then, the tag team thing came along and we jumped on it. It came out of left field. We had no idea where the whole thing was going.” Sheamus explained what he would have ideally liked to see at ‘WrestleMania 34’ for the Raw Tag Team Championship. “Regarding the tweet I put out [last week] or whatever, like, I got loads of stuff. The Young Bucks replied that young kid Bubba Ray Dudley replied, that young kid, The Authors Of Pain were ..

Paige Claims Alberto El Patron Never Hit Her

<p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/paige" title="Paige">Paige</a></strong> issued the following statement on Twitter regarding the incident at the Orlando airport. In the statement she claims that Alberto El Patron never hit her and she’s never hit him, however admits that she has charges against her for throwing a drink on El Patron.</p><p><em>“Alberto didn’t want me to say full story because he didn’t want people to know and I didn’t want people to know that I threw a drink on him. But the full story is. I had a phone call saying my uncle is in a bad way. I’m crying outside the restaurant. I go in, alberto is hugging me. I’m a little sensitive and we start bickering about something so small. I say I’m leaving and he says something that I won’t write on here but it wasn’t nice and I, even though I shouldn’t have done it. I threw a drink in his face because I was so angry. Again. Shouldn’t have done it. It was in front of a lot of people. I walk out. He follows me a few seconds later and gets the cops and security and a crazy lady decides to <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/leave/" title="leave">leave</a></strong> whatever she’s doing to follow us and invade our privacy in the completely low way. Only low life people would do.</em></p><p><em>Anyways. It was ME who was being held for battery charges because I threw a drink on him. No. he never touched me and no I never hit him with a glass 3 times like the internet in all their glory is making out. Its completely ridiculous how one story can spiral out of control. Oh and guess what internet. He smelt like beer BECAUSE I THREW A BEER ON HIM. Nothing more. Nothing less. No one got arrested. There’s no mug <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/shots/" title="shots">shots</a></strong>. There’s no charges. Nothing. The horrible, disgusting human being of lady decided she wanted to make money out of our misfortune. I wish, WISH people would give us the privacy we deserve. I know we won’t get it. But I WISH that would happen.</em></p><p><em>And if you listen to that stupid audio. You will hear him saying he’s pressing charges on ME. We all say stuff when we are mad.</em></p><p><em>That’s all I will say about the airport situation. Again. Thanks for the privacy at this time.”</em></p>
