Impact Wrestling Results – February 23, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 23, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the go home show for No Surrender and the card is set up. There is one thing though that we need to cover, which involves who gets to talk first in a live edition of Busted Open Radio. Therefore, we have a Beat The Clock Challenge between Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Jonathan Gresham/Mike Bailey Non-title and Gresham takes Shelley down by the leg to start. Bailey comes in and kicks away at said leg, with Gresham and Bailey taking turns on it. Shelley manages to knock Bailey outside though and it’s the Guns taking over for a change. Back in and the limping Shelley strikes away at Bailey, who comes right back with the bouncing kicks to Sabin. Gresham and Sabin slug it out until Gresham does one of those stupid looking deals where he sends the Guns together and kicks Sabin, making him dr..

Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2023 Results

Hard To Kill 2023 Date: January 13, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s back to pay per view and Impact is actually on a heck of a roll right now. They are getting almost everything right at the moment and I’m wanting to see the show a lot more than I would have expected. We have a double main event as Bully Ray is challenging Josh Alexander in a Full Metal Mayhem match, plus Mickie James’ Last Rodeo continues as she challenges Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Title. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Kushida vs. Angels vs. Delirious vs. Mike Bailey vs. Mike Jackson vs. Yuya Uemura The previously unadvertised Delirious is replacing Bhupinder Gujjar). Delirious misses (maybe) a charge at the returning Kushida to start and winds up on the floor. Uemura and Kushida are left in the ring to trade arm holds until Kushida hiptosses him into the basement dropkick. Delirious comes back in to neckbreaker Kushida but it’s Jackson (73 years ol..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 15, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: December 15, 2022 Location: Charles F. Dodge City Center, Pembroke Pines, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are less than a month away from Hard To Kill and the title situations are rather interesting. We have the Major Brothers coming after the Tag Team Titles, Jordynne Grace vs. Mickie James set for a title vs. career match and Josh Alexander defending against Bully Ray. That’s a lot to build towards so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Eddie Edwards vs. Delirious This was going to be last week’s main event but then Josh Alexander vs. Mike Bailey almost hit an hour so it was punted to this week. They go technical to start and that’s good for a standoff. Edwards can’t grab an O’Connor roll but he can chop Delirious down, only to have Delirious come back up with a leg lariat. An overhead belly to belly cuts that off in a hurry though and Eddie can fire off more chops. Delirious starts running the ropes in that bizarre manner of his so Edwa..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: November 3, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are about two weeks away from Overdrive and the card is starting to take shape. While the World Title match is already set, we still need to get the X-Division Title match ready, which is where this week comes in. Odds are there are going to be more tournament matches this week and that should be a good thing. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Eddie Edwards blames PCO for the destruction of Honor No More and invites him to come fight him in the desert. Opening sequence. X-Division Title Tournament First Round: Kenny King vs. Mike Bailey Feeling out process to start with King being weary of the big kick. An exchange of rollups get two each until they both try kicks to the ribs. Bailey dropkicks him for two and King is sent outside, but it’s too early for the dive. Back in and Bailey cranks on the leg, with a leglock sending King over to the rope. King’s..

Multiple Title Changes Take Place In One Night

Hand them over. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they tell any fan who matters most on the show. Wrestlers with a large shiny title in their hands are going to be treated as a bigger deal than others and it can mean a lot when a title changes hands. That is what happened on one night, as multiple championships changed hands on a single show. Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event on Friday night where two championships changed hands. First up, Frankie Kazarian defeated Mike Bailey to win the X-Division Title for the sixth time. Later, the Death Dollz (Taya Valkyrie/Jessicka) defeated VXT (Chelsea Green/Deonna Purrazzo) to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles for the first time. In addition, Digital Media Champion Brian Myers, Tag Team Champions OGK, Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace and World Champion Josh Alexander retained their titles. Opinion: Bound For Glory is the kind of show that often sees a lot of changes so only two title cha..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 15, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 15, 2022 Location: The Factory, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re rapidly approaching Victory Road and then Bound For Glory, meaning some of the shows’ major matches have already been announced. With some of the bigger shows on the way, it would make sense to give them that much extra attention. There’s a good chance of getting some more added to the cards this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. X-Division Title: Mascara Dorada vs. Mike Bailey Bailey is defending. They trade armdrags to start before both block one at the same time. An exchange of countered hurricanranas gives them a standoff and they chop it out until Bailey is knocked to the floor. The slingshot dive misses and Dorada wins a chop off outside. Back in and a suicide dive drops Bailey, setting up a missed top rope double stomp back inside. Bailey pulls him into a kneebar but Dorada is in the ropes rather quickly. The running twisting shooting star g..

Hand Them Over: Several Title Changes Take Place Over The Weekend

It was a busy night. Titles are the easiest concept in wrestling because anyone gets the idea of someone wearing a shiny belt. You can easily figure out the idea and it is a simple match to set up: someone has a title and someone else wants it. That makes title changes some of the most important parts of a wrestling promotion and there were quite a few of them this weekend. Impact Wrestling held their Slammiversary pay per view over the weekend, marking the company’s twentieth anniversary. There were five title matches on the show with four titles changing hands. Here are the title changes: Mike Bailey won the X-Division Title in a six man Ultimate X match Rosemary/Taya Valkyrie defeated the Influence to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles The Good Brothers defeated the Briscoes to regain the Tag Team Titles Jordynne Grace won the Knockouts Title in the first ever Queen of the Mountain match Impact Wrestling World Champion Josh Alexander retained his title over Eric Young in the main e..

Impact Wrestling Results – May 19, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: May 19, 2022 Location: Promowest Pavilion, Newport, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are on the way to Slammiversary and as of last week, we have a new #1 contender. Eric Young won Gauntlet For The Gold to earn the title shot against World Champion Josh Alexander, but that leaves a lot of the card to be filled in. This week will feature the Briscoes defending the Tag Team Titles against Violent By Design in an Under Siege rematch so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s Gauntlet For The Gold, with Eric Young beating Chris Sabin to win the title shot. Opening sequence. Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Laredo Kid vs. Mike Bailey The winner moves on to Slammiversary. They trade legsweeps and no counts to start before flipping to their feet. An exchange of armdrags sends Bailey outside but he blocks a dive with a kick of his own. Back in and the fans are behind Bailey as he kicks Kid down for two more. The exchange of kicks goes..

Hand It Over: Multiple Titles Change Hands Saturday Night

It was a busy night. Titles are the easiest concept to understand in all of wrestling. Someone has a shiny belt and it means that they are the best at what they do. Someone else is going to want to take it from them and the two will have a match as a result. A title change can mean a lot when it takes place and that is what happened on Saturday, with multiple titles changing hands. Impact Wrestling held its Rebellion 2022 event on Saturday night and three titles changed hands on the show. First up, Taya Valkyrie defeated Deonna Purrazzo to win the AAA Reina de Reinas Title, though Purrazzo’s Ring Of Honor Women’s Title was not on the line. Next, Ace Austin defeated reigning champion Trey Miguel and Mike Bailey to become a three time X-Division Champion. Finally, Josh Alexander won the Impact Wrestling World Title from Moose, becoming a two time champion. Knockouts Tag Team Champions the Influence, Tag Team Champions Violent By Design and Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz retained their ..

World Champion Pulled From Pay Per View Match Over Injury, New Match Set

Hopefully it isn’t too bad. You never know when you are going to see someone get injured but what makes it worse is that you do not know how long they are going to be on the shelf. Different injuries have different times on the bench and there are some that are going to cause injuries you cannot see. That is the case again, and now a big match is off the card as a result. Impact Wrestling has announced that Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham has been pulled from his match against Eddie Edwards at Saturday’s Rebellion event. Gresham suffered an injury during his match last week at AEW Battle of the Belts against Dalton Castle and has not wrestled since. Chris Bey will now face Edwards on the Countdown to Rebellion preshow and the X-Division Title match between champion Trey Miguel, Mike Bailey and Ace Austin will now be on the regular card. Opinion: That’s never good to see and unfortunately it seems like we might not be getting Gresham in the ring for a little while. You d..

Wrestling Show Letting Fans Pick Who Gets A Lot Of Money

It’s a different motivation. Wrestlers are in a unique situation as they are definitely athletes who are trying to do the best that they can, but a good number of them are doing what they do for the financial impact wrestling can offer. While not everyone is going to reach that high paying level, it is a goal for many and now there is a special way to accomplish just that in a fairly uncommon way. On March 31, WrestleCon will present the Mark Hitchcock Memorial WrestleCon Supershow. WrestleCon has tweeted out an announcement, saying that there will be a fan vote after the show to determine the best match on the show. The wrestlers involved in that match will then split $5,000. Five matches have been set for the card, with three more to take place on the show. Here is what is currently announced: * Minoru Suzuki vs. Biff Busick * The Briscoes (Jay & Mark Briscoe) vs. The Rottweilers (Low Ki & Homicide) * Bandido vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey * Tomohiro Ishii vs. Timothy Thatcher * Mia Y..

WWE Is Changing Up A Longstanding WrestleMania Week Event

They need the help. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and WWE is still putting together some of the pieces for what they have coming up. This includes some things that have nothing to do with the actual WrestleMania events, but are merely going on at the same time. One such event has yet to be announced, but WWE is still getting its work force together. WWE has sent out a press release, by way of Wrestlinginc.com, requesting volunteers to work at their upcoming Superstore Axxess event at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The positions offered include greeters, assisting with photo ops and prop handling, though there is nothing to suggest that there will be wrestlers involved. There will however be photo ops available with WWE memorabilia. WWE has yet to announce that the event will take place. It looks like the WWE Axxess superstore will happen but no axxess to meet superstars. #WWE #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/DmsXfhO48L — Jackie Gue..

Bring him in. Wrestling is one of the truly international sports as several countries have not only their own wrestlers, but also their own version of wrestling. That can make for some interesting combinations, as you can see wrestlers from one country coming into another and get quite the result. That might be the case again as WWE is interested in an international star. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is interested in signing Speedball Mike Bailey to the company. Bailey is a Canadian wrestler who has mainly wrestled in Canada and Europe for the last several years due to visa issues in America. Should WWE sign him, they would work on resolving those issues so that he could could wrestle in the United States. Back in 2016, Bailey came into the United States and worked a show for Evolve Wrestling without having a work visa in the country. As a result, he was banned from entering the United States for five years, with the ban recently expiring. Bailey has also wrest..
