Go Faster: WWE Money In The Bank Allegedly Almost Shut Down By Governor Of Connecticut

That would have been different. Three years ago, the Coronavirus pandemic turned the world upside down and things have only recently returned to mostly normal. There were several changes made to almost everything around the world, including WWE. The company kept going during the pandemic, but it turns out that one show almost did not get to wrap up. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LOOK: WWE Star Shows Off Remarkable Physical Transformation The 2020 Money In The Bank event featured a unique version of the show’s namesake match, with both the men and women fighting at the same time at WWE’s corporate headquarters. The match concluded with a ring on the room and the briefcases hanging above. During a recent live signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions, former WWE star Nia Jax revealed that the Governor of Connecticut almost shut the match down, with police coming to the building. Despite that, WWE was able to finish filming and shoot the match as planned. It was a unique match. Check out how..

Trevor Murdoch Once Punched Out Irate Fan To Save Randy Orton

That could have been a lot worse. Wrestlers have to do a lot of things right to make a match or event come together in the right way. Above all else, they are tasked with making fans care about them in one way or another, which can be rather difficult. At times, they can be too good at their job and a fan can take things a bit too far. A former WWE star has quite the story about how a fan got out of hand and had to be dealt with quickly. Former WWE star and reigning NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch appeared on the 10 Count podcast and talked about a time in a hotel bar in Ireland with then WWE Champion Randy Orton. A fan came up to Orton and asked for an autograph, which Orton gave him. The fan then insisted on getting something else signed, which Orton declined and asked to be left alone. This caused the fan to go into a tirade against Orton, shouting about how the fans pay his salary. The fan was taken away by security but was waiting for Orton in the foyer later in the night. Mur..

WATCH: Darby Allin Attacked By House Of Black At San Diego Comic Con

They’re making this a habit. AEW has a lot of wrestlers but a rather limited amount of television time. The company only had three hours a week between Dynamite and Rampage, which doesn’t leave much time for everyone to get out there. It can be smart to mix it up a little bit and take things outside of the arena for some flavor, and that is what some wrestlers have been doing. Earlier this month, AEW ran an angle at an autograph signing where Brodie King attacked Darby Allin. They ran a similar angle this weekend, where the entire House Of Black attacked Allin during a panel at the San Diego Comic Con. King and Aleister Black both jumped Allin and laid him on a table. This comes after the two sides, with Sting backing Allin up, have faced off on recent editions of AEW TV. It was a different way to go. Check out the House of Black’s latest assault on Allin: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I could go for more of something like this, as Allin has been decimated mult..

WATCH: AEW Runs Violent Angle At Autograph Signing

It can happen anywhere. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestling show but at the end of the day, almost all of the action takes place in the ring, or at least the arena. It can be nice to break out of the same place every now and then, as you can find some different ways to present a story. That was the case this weekend, as a fight broke out in a surprising place. Over the weekend, AEW ran an angle at an autograph signing featuring Brody King attacking Darby Allin. King appeared at Allin’s signing in Seattle and powerbombed him through a table before leaving. This comes after the two had another angle following this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. There has not been a match announced between them yet. It was a big deal. Check out what happened at the signing: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that I like to see for a change. Instead of just doing the same old stuff over and over again, AEW threw a little twist out there and that is ..

WATCH: Sasha Banks Surprises Students In Amazing Moment

That’s something special. Wrestlers can be in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status, as while they are television stars, they are also stuck in the wrestling bubble. While that can keep them from breaking through to another level, there is quite the status for them right where they are. That was on display recently in a very sweet moment for a group of people. New York school teacher Victor Perry runs a wrestling club with his students where wrestling is used to teach life lessons. During their most recent meeting, WWE star Sasha Banks made a surprise appearance to meet with the students, take photos with her WWE Women’s Tag Team Title and sign autographs. Banks thanked Perry for having her and called him a great role model. The GOAT. ??? @SashaBanksWWE pic.twitter.com/9oYQeRjqyI — Victor Taylor Perry (@wallflowerperry) May 6, 2022 Made a special stop to see @wallflowerperry wrestling club. Wrestling Legend Reveals Very Bad Health News

That doesn’t sound good. There have been so many wrestlers throughout the years and some of them have become names that are known to most wrestling fans. It can be interesting to see what they are doing after they leave the ring, though that does not necessarily mean it is a good thing. That seems to be the case again as a legend has shared some bad news. Wrestling legend Virgil has revealed that he has received bad news regarding his health. Virgil revealed on Twitter that he has suffered two major strokes and has been diagnosed with an early form of dementia. He has set up a page asking for donations, in addition to offering to sell autographs and video shoutouts. Virgil has not wrestled since Talk N Shop A Mania 2 in November 2020. Dearest a Meatsauce Mafia. I am grateful that I can communicate something that has happened to me. Unfortunately I have some really hard news to share. If you were wondering why I haven't been so engaged over the last few weeks it’s because i was..

Bray Wyatt Making First Wrestling Related Appearance In Seven Months

He’s at it again. Every now and then, you see a wrestler come along who catches your attention. There is something about them that makes you pay attention and you cannot take your eyes off of them. That is not something that a promotion should pass up as it means you can go in a lot of different ways. One such name will be making something of a return to wrestling after a long time away. Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt, will be making his first wrestling related appearance at the Showcase of Legends 7 in Albany, New York on Sunday. Rotunda will be taking photos, signing autographs and doing a meet and greet at the convention, which will also include names such as Trish Stratus, Rikishi, Dustin Rhodes, Erick Redbeard and several others. This is Rotunda’s first wrestling appearance since he was released from WWE on July 31, 2021. There is no word on when or where he will be returning to the ring. Opinion: I’m still not sure what to expect from Rotunda but it is a good sign ..

Former WWE Star Braun Strowman Is Looking Very Different These Days

It’s one of the most important parts. Wrestlers have a difficult job in that they are required to get fans to stop and watch what they are doing. It might be a promo, a match or a segment on the show, but if a viewer does not stop and watch, the performance doesn’t matter. One way to get attention is by looking the right way, and one star has drastically changed their look. Former WWE Universal Champion Adam Scherr, better known as Braun Strowman, has dyed his beard blond in a change to his look. Scherr sent out the photo on Instagram, which also includes him signing an autograph for an alligator dressed as a character from Loki. Since leaving WWE earlier this year, Scherr has appeared for Ring of Honor. He has not yet publicly announced signing or agreeing to a deal with any promotion. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adam Scherr (@adamscherr99) Scherr was a force with the old look. Check out his time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post conta..

Tommaso Ciampa Announces Very Cool NXT Auction For Charity

It’s for a good cause. Wrestling is a business and ultimately that means trying to make fans give up their money. That can be easier said than done, but there are times that make fans want to hand it over as fast as they can. It might be for a ticket, a new shirt, or getting to watch a show at home. This time though, some wrestlers are trying to get fans to pay for something for a better cause. NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa has announced that NXT will be auctioning off ten event used items from last week’s WarGames event. All proceeds will be donated to the United For Waukesha Community Fund, following the car attack during the Waukesha, Wisconsin Christmas parade. To bid on the autographed items, go to Ebay.com and search “We are NXT Waukesha”. My wife was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. It’s where we bought our first home and started our family with Willow. Regardless of where life takes me, WI will always be my home away from home… (1/3) — BLACKHEART (@NXTCiampa) December 14, 2..

VIDEO: Wrestling Legend Announces Retirement From The Ring

Say goodbye. Wrestlers are a weird type of athlete as you never know when you are going to see someone compete for the last time. Since wrestlers can stay around longer than most mainstream athletes and can get in the ring for a one off match, retirements can be a tricky thing to keep. Now another wrestling legend has seemingly announced their retirement from the ring, seemingly for good. In an interview with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Sabu has announced that he is likely retiring from the ring, but did leave open the door for a return. Sabu, 56 years old, says that he injured his back in a match last year and it is still causing him problems. He said that he wrestled a match earlier this year and felt he physically should not have done so as his body gave out. Instead of wrestling, he will be participating in autograph signings and personal appearances. Sabu was certainly an influence. Check out his announcement plus some of his time in the ring: [This post contains video, click t..

Former WWE Star Confirms Retirement Due To Injury

She would if she could. Wrestling is a rather difficult sport for everyone involved and that has always been the case. No matter how much training or experience someone has, a wrestler has the chance of getting banged up or hurt. Some of those injuries can wreck a wrestler’s career for good and end any chances of them wrestling again. That is the case with a former star. Former WWE star Christy Hemme recently took part in a virtual autograph signing for East Coast Autograph Auctions where she confirmed that she was unable to wrestle another match. Hemme said that she would wrestle again if not for her neck being damaged. The neck injury forced her to retire from the ring, with her most recent match taking place on November 14, 2011. Hemme wrestled for both WWE and Impact Wrestling while also serving other roles, including ring announcer and backstage interviewer. Hemme did a lot over the years. Check out some of her career: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post cont..

AJ Styles Had A Really Cool Exchange With Undertaker

That’s a special moment. There are a lot of wrestling legends but there are only a handful of wrestlers who are at the top of that list. Last year’s WrestleMania 36 saw the final match (for now) match of the Undertaker, who would certainly qualify as a top legend. Undertaker wrestled his last match against AJ Styles in the Boneyard match, which was quite the moment. It turns out that they shared another special moment. During an appearance on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast, Styles mentioned that he wanted to give the Undertaker a special gift after the Boneyard match. Styles got in touch with Undertaker’s wife Michelle McCool, who said that Undertaker would appreciate the gloves that Styles wore during the match. Styles sent the autographed gloves to Undertaker, who sent Styles his gloves as well, along with a thank you letter for the match. Undertaker has not wrestled since the match, but has made appearances for WWE. The match was one of a kind. Check out what happened in Un..

WWE Enforcing New Rule With Released Wrestlers

Make sure you leave it there. This year has seen a lot of changes to the WWE roster, with several names taking their leave from the company. Some of these have been a bit more surprising than others, but what matters is that the wrestlers are no longer part of the WWE. That means a few changes for everyone involved, including something that might impact them later. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, released WWE talents will not be allowed to sign autographs under their WWE names following the end of their ninety day no compete clauses. The wrestlers would have to sign either their real name or another ring name that they come up with later. There is no word on what sort of penalty they could face should they be caught. Signed items can be rather cool. Check out some WWE instances: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is something that makes sense in the legal de..

Major Update Regarding CM Punk’s Status For ‘All In’

Ever since the upcoming ‘All In’ show was confirmed for Chicago, the wrestling world has been questioning if the event will see the long-awaited return of CM Punk to the squared circle. Even with the show three months away, speculation is at a fever pitch. The night before ‘All In,’ Punk will sign autographs in accordance with the show at the Pro Wrestling Tees store. By all appearances, the “Best in the World” is preparing for his return to wrestling and it’s easier to speculate when he’s literally being seen backstage. Related: Why CM Punk May Be Involved In The ‘All In’ Show In September Jenn Decker recently appeared on the Collider Bodyslam podcast and confirmed Punk was backstage during the press conference she hosted for ‘All In.’ Of course, there are several reasons why he could have been behind the scenes. However, that is not going to stop wrestling fans from speculating for the next few months about his involvement. The fact is that wrestling fans would be ecstatic if the..

Tyson Kidd Appears To Be Working Wrestling Events Outside WWE

WWE Producer and former WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd appear to be working wrestling events outside of WWE, according to Ringside News. Kidd was forced to retire from in-ring competition following a botched Muscle Buster by the former NXT Champion in SmackDown Live’s Samoa Joe. This is also why Joe rarely if ever uses the move anymore. A user on Twitter by the name of Alexx Light with the handle @thatoshkoshkid tweeted a photo showing Kidd, with the claim that he is available for autograph signings and professional wrestling seminars.
