Impact Wrestling Date: January 26, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan The fallout from Hard To Kill continues and we are also on the way to No Surrender. The latter means that we need a new #1 contender and we will have one by the end of the night due to a six way elimination match. Other than that, Bully Ray now seems to have to deal with Mickie James and possibly Frankie Kazarian so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. X-Division Title: Mike Jackson vs. Trey Miguel Jackson, 73 years old, is challenging and gets wristlocked down to start. Some running shoulders and a hiptoss have Miguel down for a change but Miguel punches him in the face. A hammerlock slam puts Jackson down but he avoids the springboard moonsault. An atomic drop sends Jackson outside, where he is fine enough to post Miguel. Back in and Jackson stays on the arm but takes too long with Oldest School, allowing Miguel to pull him down. The Lightning..

Impact Wrestling Results – January 19, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: January 19, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are done with Hard To Kill and that means it is time to go through the fallout period. The big story coming out of the show was Mickie James ending her Last Rodeo by defeating Jordynne Grace to become the new Knockouts Champion. Other than that, Josh Alexander is still the World Champion, having defeated Bully Ray in Full Metal Mayhem. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Jay Briscoe, with Tom Hannifan giving a brief voiceover about thoughts and prayers being with the Briscoe family. Long Hard To Kill recap. Here is Mickie James to get things going. The Last Rodeo may be over but Hardcore Country lives forever…and Bully Ray interrupts. Ray tells her to get out but James tells HIM to get out. Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2023 Results

Hard To Kill 2023 Date: January 13, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s back to pay per view and Impact is actually on a heck of a roll right now. They are getting almost everything right at the moment and I’m wanting to see the show a lot more than I would have expected. We have a double main event as Bully Ray is challenging Josh Alexander in a Full Metal Mayhem match, plus Mickie James’ Last Rodeo continues as she challenges Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Title. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Kushida vs. Angels vs. Delirious vs. Mike Bailey vs. Mike Jackson vs. Yuya Uemura The previously unadvertised Delirious is replacing Bhupinder Gujjar). Delirious misses (maybe) a charge at the returning Kushida to start and winds up on the floor. Uemura and Kushida are left in the ring to trade arm holds until Kushida hiptosses him into the basement dropkick. Delirious comes back in to neckbreaker Kushida but it’s Jackson (73 years ol..

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Day One 2022 Date: January 1, 2022 Location: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the first show of the year and as interesting as that is, everything has changed at the very last minute. Universal Champion Roman Reigns has announced that he has tested positive for Coronavirus, meaning that he is out of his title defense against Brock Lesnar. Worry not though, as Lesnar is now in a five way for the WWE Title. Let’s get to it. Kicko..

Alleged Reason Why WWE Canceled Day 1 Premium Live Event

That ‘s a valid excuse. WWE has a lot going on at any given point and it can be difficult to keep track of everything that is taking place. There are times where things can fall through the cracks and need to be changed, which can lead to even more confusing situations. That seems to have taken place again, as WWE has canceled an upcoming premium live event and now we know why. Earlier this month, news broke that WWE was canceling its Day 1 event on January 1, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia. According to 411mania.com, there is a chance that the event was canceled due to Peacock, which airs major WWE events, will be airing the final Sunday Night Football game of the season. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has changed the premium live event to a regular live event. Opinion: This is one of those situations that much be annoying for people who were looking forward to the event but at least they are getting a little something instead of nothing. The event had some interest going into it but now..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Cancels Upcoming Premium Live Event, Not Rescheduling

Clear it off the calendar. WWE runs a lot of events throughout the year, with the majority being weekly television shows. In addition, the company runs about one premium live event a month, many of which have some sort of theme. Some of these have a long history but others are one off ideas that do not have a chance to go anywhere. It seems that there will be another on that list. According to Brandon Thurston’s Patreon account, WWE has canceled the January 1, 2023 Day One event at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and it will not be rescheduled. As of now, there are no premium live events scheduled between Survivor Series in November and Royal Rumble in January. There is no word on why the show was canceled, though scheduling against football could be an issue. An event is currently still listed on the State Farm Arena’s website, though the event is listed as TBA. Opinion: This is a move that makes sense, as WWE would have trouble continuing these events on every January 1. I..

WWE Considers Changes To Upcoming Premium Live Event

Schedule adjustment. WWE presents a lot of events during the course of any given year. Most of these are television shows which are often designed to set up the major monthly events. Since WWE has so many of these monthly shows, they need something to make them stand out. That is what they have done with an upcoming show, but they might be making a change. WWE is currently scheduled to present Day One on Sunday January 1, 2023 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering making some kind of a change to the show. It is not clear what change might be made, but the show might be moved to another date. Brock Lesnar is currently advertised for the show. Opinion: The idea of having a show on the first day of the year makes sense on paper, but it is only going to work for a little while. Is WWE going to run Day One on Monday, January 1, 2024 instead of Monday Night Raw? Day One is a cool idea but I’m not sure how lo..

Beast Gone? You Might Not Be Seeing Brock Lesnar For A Pretty Long Time

There he is again. There is no one in wrestling history like Brock Lesnar, who is one of the most incredible athletes the industry has ever seen. Lesnar is not only a former NCAA Heavyweight Champion in wrestling, but he is also a powerhouse second to very few. It means a lot to see him in a WWE match and now we know when we might be seeing him next. Lesnar has been advertised for the upcoming Day One event in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday January 1, 2023. This is currently the next advertised appearance for Lesnar, who lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of Summerslam in a Last Man Standing match. There is no word on whether Lesnar will be appearing again before Day One and there is always the chance that the appearance could be changed. Although many thought it could be Lesnar's last WWE match at SummerSlam, turns out it might not be the case. The Beast is advertised for Day 1, 2023. https://t.co/QRAjPWANPG pic.twitter.com/XuCwRR5cHb — Anirban Banerjee (@pwanirban) August 1..

SmackDown Results – July 29, 2022

Smackdown Date: July 29, 2022 Location: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee This is going to be a weird one as it’s the go home show for Summerslam so there won’t be much in the way of moving forward to the show, but there is a #1 contenders match for the next major show. At the same time, this is the first television show with no influence from Vince McMahon following his departure from the company. Let’s get to it. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre Donnybrook match, meaning street fight, and the winner gets a World Title shot at Clash At The Castle. Sheamus jumps McIntyre during his entrance and they start fast with McIntyre being thrown inside for the opening bell. A Michinoku Driver gets McIntyre out of trouble and it’s time for the Shillelagh. That doesn’t work yet so McIntyre grabs a table, only to be sent into the steps (near the makeshift bar). They get back inside with Sheamus whipping out the cut Shillelagh from last week to beat on McIntyre e..

WWE Day One 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Worry not though, as Lesnar is now in a five way for the WWE Title. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Ridge Holland/Sheamus vs. Cesaro/Ricochet Sheamus has called Holland the replacement for Cesaro in the Bar, while Ricochet eliminated Sheamus from a recent gauntlet match. Cesaro starts with Sheamus, who bails into the corner and brings Holland in. That’s fine with Cesaro, who hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, followed by assisting Ricochet for a flipping stomp to Holland. That looked BAD as Ricochet’s boot hit him right in the face. Sheamus comes back in for the Iri..
