AEW Revolution 2023 Results

Revolution 2023 Date: March 5, 2023 Location: Chase Center, San Francisco, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Jim Ross We’re back with another AEW pay per view and that should mean something really good. The television shows haven’t been the strongest in recent weeks but that has never stopped the pay per views from being special. The main event will feature MJF defending the World Title against Bryan Danielson in an Iron Man match, which should be…uh, long. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Lucha Bros/Mark Briscoe vs. Varsity Athletes/Ari Daivari Mark Sterling are here with the Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese/Josh Woods) and Daivari. Nese poses at Penta to start but Penta is right back with CERO MIEDO. All six come in to strike it out with Penta and Nese being left alone in the ring. Made In Penta gives Penta a quick two before Daivari has to save Sterling. The villains take over on Penta by whipping him into the corner and Woods adds a suplex for two. The Athletes double suplex Penta ..

Two Sports: Current WWE Star Hopes To Compete In Boxing Match

It’s a different sport. Since professional wrestling became a thing, there has been an interest in seeing how other athletes would do if they tried their hand in the ring. This has been the case with all kinds of sports, but now it seems that another wrestler is interested in trying her hand at a sport outside of wrestling. She just won’t have to go far to find the right kind of ring. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Roman Reigns Gets Extra Violent On Sami Zayn At WWE Live Event During an interview with Fightful Select, WWE star Dana Brooke spoke about incorporating boxing training into her wrestling training. Brooke also mentioned that she hoped to book herself into a boxing fight later this year. There is no word on how long Brooke has trained in boxing or what WWE would think about her trying another sport. Brooks has not wrestled on Monday Night Raw since November 14, 2022. AEW Revolution 2023 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team. Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..

Legends Rise? Update On WrestleMania Status Of The Rock And Steve Austin

Maybe next time. There are certain stars in wrestling who have become legends in their own time. Since it is wrestling, there is always the chance that they might come back to the ring later, even at the age that most mainstream athletes would long since have retired. There was a hope that some legends would be back in the ring later this year, but that does not seem likely. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: Update On WWE’s Plans For Sami Zayn Going Forward Wrestling Observer Radio has updates on Steve Austin and the Rock’s WrestleMania 39 statuses. Austin will not be wrestling on the show, despite reportedly being offered matches with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. There is still the chance that Austin will appear at the show in some capacity, but he is not expected to be wrestling. The situation is about the same for the Rock, who is not expected to wrestle at the event, but could appear. Rock has apparently left the door open for a match at WrestleMania 40 in 2024. They have done t..

Crossover: Former WWE Star Trying His Hand(s) At Boxing

Call it a crossover. Wrestlers receive a lot of criticism due to the pre-planned results of their matches, but it does not take away from the athleticism. The wrestlers that can get to the top of the industry are incredible athletes and some of the best you will find in any sport. It can be interesting to see what happens when wrestlers try their hand at another sport and that is the case again. They’re In: WWE Signs Two More Former College Athletes

The roster grows. WWE has a roster with enough talent to fill up three weekly television shows, but those wrestlers have to be kept moving. At some point the roster is going to get a bit stale and needs some fresh blood, which is why WWE also brings in fresh talent every so often. Now they are doing that again, this time from other sports outside of professional wrestling. He Has A Take: Possible Problem With WWE Using Tyson Fury

He has some leverage. Wrestling has a long history of having athletes from other sports make appearances, often to great success. It makes sense for a wrestling company to want to bring in other athletes to see what happens when they step inside a wrestling ring. WWE has done this as well, but now one major sports name has an interesting way of looking at how he would be presented in the company. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Next Time? WWE Champion Pulled From Live Event Last month, a story broke about WWE wanting boxing’s Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury to appear at the Royal Rumble and then WrestleMania 39, though Fury is dealing with visa issues. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one source is saying that Fury is unwilling to put people in WWE over or even look vulnerable during his appearances. There is no word on whether he would be able to be booked in a short Royal Rumble appearance that validates what the money WWE would have to pay him. There is no word ..

Almost: WWE Faces Visa Issues Preventing World Champion From Working WrestleMania

They have a plan. Wrestling has a long history of having athletes from other sports coming in to try their hand in the squared circle. It offers an easy concept for fans to grasp and might bring some other fans from the other sport over with them. Now it seems that WWE has their eye on bringing back a champion from another sport who has worked with them in the past. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It Was Messy: Four Top Stars Miss WWE Live Event In “Complete Nightmare” According to the US-Sun, WWE wants World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Tyson Fury to work with them in the new year but his visa issues are causing issues. The issue with the Fury has been linked to Daniel Kinahan, an Irish mob boss, who founded Fury’s representation company. Both WWE and Fury’s legal team are trying to work the situation out. That Takes Guts: How Brock Lesnar Was Reportedly Called Out To Fight Backstage At WWE Event

That could have been interesting. Throughout its history, wrestling has drawn athletes from other sports into its ranks. It makes sense, as wrestling needs to keep its rosters fresh and bringing in other sports’ stars can help make the process easier. In recent years, mixed martial arts has served as a pipeline to wrestling, with several stars coming from the sport. Now a new story is being told about how an MMA fighter/wrestler almost had to prove himself. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Here’s Looking At You: Wrestling Fans React To Roman Reigns Breaking The Fourth Wall Back at Crown Jewel 2019, world boxing champion Tyson Fury made his in-ring wrestling debut, defeating Braun Strowman via countout. Brock Lesnar was also on the show, where he defeated former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez to retain the WWE Title. Nope. Wrestling Legend Confirms His In-Ring Career Is Over

He’s done. Retirement is a tricky subject for wrestlers as it can be hard to hang up their boots for the final time. While more mainstream athletes have to complete one more season, wrestlers are able to go out and have one more match at almost anytime they want. That makes officially retiring harder than it seems, but one legend seems pretty sure he is out. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s Still Got It: John Cena Proves His Drawing Power In WWE During a recent appearance on the Culture State podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels was asked if he would be coming out of retirement for one more match. Michaels flat out said that he was done, saying “I’ve had that final match” and that he was happy with his career and wanted to see the next generation get their chance. The Other Ring: Former WWE Star Makes Pro MMA Debut

It’s a different world. Wrestlers have a difficult time in being seen as legitimate athletes. They have to do some very athletic things and their efforts are anything but easy. At the same time though, it can be difficult to shake the stigma of their matches being pre-determined. Occasionally a wrestler will try their hand at another sport though, which was the case again this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Discusses Brock Lesnar Intercontinental Title Reign Former WWE star Jack Claffey, better known as Jack Gallagher, competed in his professional MMA debut this weekend. ACTION! Chris Jericho Lands Role In Upcoming Wrestling Film

It’s a gig. Wrestlers are often compared to actors and the comparison makes some sense. While wrestlers are athletes, they are in pre-determined situations that can be seen as a performance. However, wrestlers do not always have the best luck when it comes to transitioning into acting. You do see it happen every now and then though, and now a top star is going to be trying his hand at another acting role. Safe At Home: Hacksaw Jim Duggan Explains How He Stopped An Intruder At Gunpoint

Another kind of match. There are a lot of ways to describe a wrestler but one that would come up as often as any other might be tough. Wrestlers are athletes who have to make you believe they are in a real fight, which can be rather tricky at times. On occasion, they have to do something very legitimate, and that was the case in a much more serious situation for a wrestling legend. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back Soon: AEW Star Reveals Recent Surgery During a new interview with Wrestlinginc.com, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Duggan revealed that a man broke into his home on December 8 at around 6:45pm, armed with a gun. Duggan took the man down and took the gun from him, holding him at gunpoint until the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department arrived to arrest the man. LOOK: Bianca Belair Enters Fashion And Fitness Competition (And SMASHES It)

It suits her. There are some incredible athletes in wrestling and a lot of them do not get the credit that they deserve for being so skilled at what they do. A big part of this is their fitness and athleticism, both of which can be overlooked. No More: 53 Year Old Wrestling Legend Announces 2023 Is His Last Year In The Ring

End of the line? Wrestlers are a unique breed when it comes to athletics. While they are all athletes in one way or another, many of them top caliber, many of them do not walk away from competition like others are able to do. This is partially due to being able to get back in the ring for one more match, making it hard to finish up. Now one legend is ready to finish things up for good though. Good News: Wrestling Legend’s Health Reportedly Improves After Rough Patch

That’s an improvement. While they are not always credited as such, wrestlers are very talented athletes who regularly get in the ring and put their bodies on the line. There are always going to be risks involved with wrestling and some of the problems do not show up until after a wrestler’s career is over. That is the case with an all time legend, but things might be doing a bit better.
