Gillberg Talks Possible Match With Goldberg: “I’ll Bust Him Up”

He’s not next. There are very few wrestlers in history who have made the kind of impact that Goldberg made at the start of his career. After a rather successful football career, Goldberg would go on to become a huge star in wrestling. Goldberg was best known for his undefeated streak where he beat all comers for over a year, but it turns out there was one name he refused to face during his career. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Comeback: Triple H Posts Photo With Celebrity WWE Star During Goldberg’s popularity in WCW, the WWF created a parody character called Gillberg, portrayed by Duane Gill, a much smaller wrestler. Gill recently appeared on the Cafe de Rene podcast and talked about his time as Gillberg. Gill claims that he approached Goldberg about a match between the two of them, but Goldberg turned him down every time. According to a joking Gill, Goldberg was afraid to face him in the ring. It was a funny statement. Check out the clip plus both of them in the ring: [This post contains..

Tony Khan Reveals Details Of William Regal’s Return To WWE

And there it is. During the media scrum for the upcoming ROH Final Battle pay-per-view this weekend, Tony Khan revealed some of the details behind William Regal’s departure from AEW and return to WWE. Khan said that Regal approached Megha Parekh, who is part of AEW’s legal team, with a request for the promotion not to renew his deal, as he wanted to return to WWE. Not only is his son working in WWE, but he also wanted to coach alongside some of his old friends now that Triple H has gained control of the company. Furthermore, Khan says that Regal’s release dictates he can go back to WWE and coach but not be an on-air personality in 2023. Tony Khan says William Regal's release dictates he is able to go back to #WWE and coach, but not be able to go on-air in the next year. He says he was surprised by the tweet from WWE showcasing him on TV. #AEW #ROH #FinalBattle — Jon Alba (@JonAlba) December 7, 2022 He was written off of television on last week’s episode of Dynamite, when MJF..

WATCH: Triple H Had No Idea Who Logan Paul Was Before He Came To WWE

It’s quite the introduction. Celebrities have a strange history when it comes to wrestling. There have always been famous people coming inside the wrestling bubble and at times, it can draw in an extra audience. That is a tricky balance to find though, as you do not want a celebrity with a small following taking up too much time. WWE has tried to find that balance, and now they may have again with a famous star. He just might not be famous to everyone. Triple H appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast and revealed that he had never heard of Paul when approached about Paul appearing for WWE. In addition to people in WWE telling Triple H who Paul was, his children also talked about Paul, which helped show Triple H just how big of a star Paul is. Paul has wrestled twice for WWE, including last weekend at Summerslam, where he defeated the Miz. There is a lot to this. WHAT? Stone Cold Steve Austin Backstage At Recent WWE Event, Offers Thoughts On Show

That’s a special one. There are all kinds of great stars in wrestling history but only a few have approached the level of Steve Austin. He is one of the biggest stars in the history of the industry and one of the most influential names in modern wrestling. Having him around means something and that was the case again this weekend, even if you probably didn’t see him on camera. WWE held a live event on Sunday night in Reno, Nevada under their Sunday Stunner banner. Natalya was on the show and revealed that WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin was backstage at the event. Austin responded to the tweet, praising the crowd as well as the wrestlers, saying they gave the fans a “helluva show”. Austin last appeared for WWE at WrestleMania 38 where he main evented night one and beat up Vince McMahon on night two. The coolest part of tonight in Reno was having @steveaustinBSR at our show watching every match backstage… Steve is the best. Truly. ?? — Nattie (@NatbyNature) July 11, 2022 R..

Wrestling Legends Rip Fan Who Jumped Barricade At AEW Dynamite

They should be annoyed. Wrestling fans are starting to return to the arenas in large numbers for the first time in well over a year and that is a great thing for everyone involved. Fans get to see wrestling in person for a change and the promotions are getting some money brought in. At the same time though, it does not mean everything is going to work out well. That was the case last week and now some people are reacting. During this week’s AEW Dynamite, a fan jumped the barricade and approached the ring during a Chris Jericho and Maxwell Jacob Friedman segment. Security got rid of the fan and Jericho himself even got in a shot on him. Later, the fan sent out a tweet saying that he was doing this due to Jim Cornette’s comments over the AEW roster being pretend wrestlers. Cornette and Jericho responded to the fan’s tweet and it did not go well. Got news for you dipshit, the ring is sacred ground for US, and even if you and a lot of others THINK you can kick the shit out of the Young B..

RUMOR: Hulk Hogan Almost Won Major WrestleMania 36 Match

Oh Brother. Like him or not, there are almost no wrestlers in history on Hulk Hogan’s level (and there is a serious case to be made that there is no one on that level). He modernized the wrestling world and turned the WWF into a global phenomenon, only to go to WCW and become one of the greatest heels of all time. That gives him the kind of legendary status that almost no one has approached and it gives him certain respect in wrestling. We almost saw that again this year. While you may not realize it, we are coming up on forty years since Hulk Hogan first won the WWF World Title. That was quite a long time ago and while it might seem like yesterday that Hulkamania was the strongest force in the universe just a few days ago, Hogan is now in his late 60s and has not wrestled a match in nearly ten years. However, that streak was nearly broken on the big stage. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Vince McMahon had signed off on the idea of Hogan entering and winning the Andre the Giant Memori..

AEW Bringing Back Another Infamous Match

That’s one way to go. Wrestling is in a situation that it has never approached in the modern era. Thanks to the spread of the Coronavirus wiping out live attendance for wrestling shows, promotions are being forced to think outside of the box and see what they can do to come up with some kind of an alternative. That seems to be the case in AEW and they might have a huge idea planned. While both WWE and AEW are filming marathon taping sessions of shows to cover themselves for the next several weeks, they are also going to different locations to film content. This was on display Saturday at WrestleMania 36 with the Boneyard Match, which had a lot of people flashing back to another on location match. Now, we might be seeing something closer to the original. During this week’s AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy challenged Chris Jericho to face him at the Hardy Compound in an Elite Deletion match. This would seem to be something in the same vein as the Final Deletion match from Impact Wrestling. AEW..

Kofi Kingston Did Not Know If New Day Accomplished Enough To Write A Book

The Book of Booty reflects the New Day's in-ring antics. Earlier this year, New Day released a new book called The Book of Booty. It is a book for all ages that follows the New Day through their WWE careers so far. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Kofi Kingston said they had thought about a book before being approached by someone else about it. “We’ve always talked about having a book, detailing our journey, and that’s before the title streak. Then someone came to us and said ‘We want to do a book on you guys,’ and we immediately wondered if we’d accomplished enough to have a book written about us. But the way it came out was amazing," said Kingston. Even though the book follows the history of New Day, Kingston said it does so in unique way. “Our book is not your standard wrestling book or your standard documentation of our history. It’s all in there, but we do it in a real fun way. That’s what we do when we’re in the ring, so this book embodies the New Day," said ..
