It’s On: Hell In A Cell Match Set For WrestleMania 39

That’s a big one. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the show is already starting to come together. There are several matches already set for the show but with two nights to fill, a lot more will need to be done. This can include matches that are not held under your typical rules, and now another one has been added to the card with some of the biggest stipulations WWE has to offer. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Uh Oh? Bray Wyatt Misses Weekend MSG WWE Live Event, Not Around As Much Lately For most of the last year, Edge has been involved in a feud with the Judgment Day, often with only his wife Beth Phoenix helping him. Last month, Finn Balor challenged Edge to a match at WrestleMania and this week, Edge accepted. After saying yes, Edge said that he wanted the match to be inside Hell In A Cell, with Balor accepting. This will be the third Hell In A Cell match in WrestleMania history and the first since WrestleMania 32 in 2016. They have something to live up to. Chec..

They’re On: Three More Matches, Including Title Match, Set For WrestleMania 39

On the card. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 39 and that means the card is rapidly getting set. The show will again be held over two nights and there are even more matches that need to be set up. Sometimes you will see a bunch of matches being set up at the same time, which was the case this week, as multiple matches were set up on the same night. There were three new WrestleMania 39 matches set up this week on Monday Night Raw. First up, Logan Paul and Seth Rollins had a showdown, where Paul said that he would face Rollins on a bigger stage. WrestleMania host the Miz agreed to get the match made and it was set later in the show. Second, Austin Theory interrupted John Cena and challenged him to a US Title match at WrestleMania. After insulting Theory, Cena accepted the challenge. This match has been teased since Cena and Theory met backstage last June. It will be Cena’s first singles match since Summerslam 2021. Finally, Damage Ctrl interrupted Trish Stratus and Wome..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Vince McMahon Pushed WrestleMania 39 Match Onto Card

That would be a change. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the return of Vince McMahon to WWE. McMahon has taken his former role as Chairman of the Board, with the reported goal of selling the company. This has led to the question of whether McMahon will return to the creative side of the company. Now we might know a little more about such a change. Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar accepted MVP’s offer of a match against Omos at WrestleMania 39. The match would be a first time pairing as Lesnar and Omos have never faced each other. According to WrestleVotes on Twitter, the match was McMahon’s idea, who pushed it through and made it happen. WWE and its executives have consistently said that McMahon has no impact on the creative side of the company. I’m told the highly anticipated, very compelling (??) Brock Lesnar vs Omos WrestleMania matchup was the idea of one specific, powerful person who pushed it through. pic.twitter.com/VpcdEFsLzJ — WrestleVotes..

He’s Back: Shawn Michaels Set For Special Appearance Next Week On WWE TV

He’s good in the role. There have been almost countless wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and a good many of them do not make the biggest impact. A small number do manage to become stars though and some of those move on to become some of the biggest names in wrestling history. WWE still manages to have some of them appear from time to time, and that will be the case again next week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: 24 Year Old Star Makes Surprise Return After Four Month Absence Over the last several weeks, NXT’s Grayson Waller has been having issues with WWE official Shawn Michaels. Waller has constantly berated Michaels and caused him one problem after another. Last week on NXT, Waller issued a challenge for Michaels to meet him on the Grayson Waller Effect at Roadblock on March 7. This week, Michaels said that while he knew Waller would only get worse and that it was against his better judgment, he would appear on the show. Monster Fight: New Match Officially Set For WrestleMania 39

That’s a big one. We are less than five weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the card is rapidly filling up. There are already several title matches and grudge matches set for the show but there are still several names who need something to do on the show. That makes a WrestleMania spot even more important, and now two more of those spots have officially been filled. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Sheamus, Drew McIntyre And Braun Strowman Have Fun At WWE Live Event Last week on Monday Night Raw, MVP issued a challenge for Brock Lesnar to face Omos at WrestleMania. This week, Lesnar was a guest on MVP’s VIP Lounge where he accepted the challenge, with the match being made official later in the night. Lesnar beat up MVP to commemorate the announcement. This will be the first time that Lesnar and Omos have ever faced off one on one. Those are some large men. Acknowledge What? WWE Pitches Steve Austin vs. Roman Reigns

That’s a bit one. Roman Reigns has held the WWE Undisputed Title for two and a half years and there is nothing to suggest that he is going to be losing the title anytime soon. Unfortunately this has led to Reigns having almost no credible challengers left. WWE has brought in some legends to challenge Reigns, and now it seems that WWE has tried to find another such to go after the title. According to Fightful Select, WWE pitched a match between Roman Reigns and Steve Austin for WrestleMania 39. There is no word as to whether or not Austin accepted the offer, though the money offered was said to be “enormous”. Another source said that Austin had another major name pitched to him as well. Austin returned to the ring or the first time in nineteen years last year at WrestleMania 38, defeating Kevin Owens. This would have been big. Check out the two in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Homecoming: WWE Legend Confirms Invitation To Monday Night Raw 30th Anniversary Special

Welcome home. There have been all kinds of stars throughout WWE’s history, several of which are still remembered to this day. Several of those memories took place on Monday Night Raw, which will be celebrating its thirty year anniversary next month. WWE will be bringing in various legends for the show, and now we know at least one name who has been invited to appear. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Ouch: Wrestling Legend Slams SmackDown Star, Would Fire All But Two WWE Women In a post on his Facebook page, WWE legend Tatanka revealed that he has been invited to the 30th anniversary of Monday Night Raw special on January 23 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tatanka did not say whether or not he had accepted the invitation. Tatanka wrestled for WWE from 1991-1996 and again from 2005-2007. He has since made various one off appearances, including at WrestleMania 32. You might remember Tatanka. BREAKING: Surprise Title Change Takes Place In NXT Main Event

And there it goes! Titles are some of the most important things in a wrestling promotion as holding a championship makes it clear that a wrestler is one of the biggest stars in a company. Having a bright, shiny title is about as clear of an indication as a fan can get that they should notice a wrestler. As a result, it means a lot when a title changes hands and that was the case this week. Over the weekend, Roxanne Perez won the NXT Iron Woman Challenge at Deadline to become the new #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Title. This week on NXT, Perez was attacked by NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, prompting Perez to say she wanted her title shot later in the night. Rose accepted, and went on to lose the title to Perez, ending her title reign at 413 days, the third longest in history. She’s the new champ. Check out some of Perez’s work in NXT: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This ..

Add It Up: New Grudge Match Set For WWE Survivor Series

There’s one more on the list. We are less than two weeks away from WWE Survivor Series and that means it is time to start getting the card together. There is still plenty of room on the show for more matches, several of which have already been set up over the last few months. That just leaves the matches to be made official, one of which was covered this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Oh No: Kevin Owens Injured At WWE Live Event This week on Monday Night Raw, a new match was announced for Survivor Series, as AJ Styles challenged Finn Balor to meet him one on one. Balor accepted the match later in the show and it was officially confirmed. This comes after the two of them have been feuding as part of the OC vs. Judgment Day feud. There is no word on if the rest of the teams will be involved as well. He seems mad. Check out Styles’ challenge and Balor’s match: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a different way to go t..

UFC Legend Set To Appear At WWE Extreme Rules In Special Role

He’s a big one to add. Wrestling has a unique reputation in sports, as the wrestlers are seen as athletes but not in a legitimate competition. They can clearly do things that most people can’t, but they do not have the most respect when it comes to other athletes. It can mean something to have more accepted sports stars engage with wrestling, and that will be happening again next week. Ariel Helwani has announced via his Twitter that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will serve as guest referee for the upcoming Fight Pit match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle at WWE Extreme Rules. Cormier is a long time wrestling fan who has talked about doing something with WWE. Extreme Rules is scheduled for next Saturday, October 8. Breaking: Daniel Cormier will serve as guest referee for next Saturday’s Fight Pit Match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins at WWE’s Extreme Rules in Philly. Oct. 8. No, seriously. It’s really happening. Oct. 8. Incredible. pic.twitter.com/Ri8tH..

BREAKING: Big Former WWE Star Makes Surprise AEW Debut

There’s a big one. There are multiple ways to change things up in wrestling and one of the best ways is to have someone make a surprise debut. Having someone show up out of nowhere can make for a great moment. It can be difficult to figure out a way to bring in someone for such a moment but AEW has managed to pull it off with a former major WWE star. Saraya, formerly known as Paige, made her AEW debut this week at AEW Grand Slam. Following Toni Storm retaining her Interim AEW Women’s Title, Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter and Serena Deeb attacked her. Saraya made the save and invited all of them for a fight but no one accepted. Saraya did not get physical and it is not clear if she will have a match, as she was forced to retire from the ring due to neck injuries. Opinion: That’s a major surprise and it worked as the kind of moment AEW was hoping to have. Saraya is a name that had been rumored for AEW for a long time but it was hard to imagine it actually happening. I’d like to believe she ..

It’s A Call Back: WWE Hall Of Famer Cameo Leads To Titles Being Vacated

She’s a star. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history but only a few of them have reached legendary status. These are wrestlers that are remembered for a long time to come, though sometimes they are more remembered for something a little less positive. That was the case with a legend who appeared on WWE TV this week with a reference to her more infamous moment. WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze appeared on this week’s edition of NXT, where she accepted Roxanne Perez’s half of the NXT Tag Team Titles, leaving them officially vacant. Blayze announced a fatal four way for the vacant titles next week, with Valentina Feroz/Yulisa Leon vs. Ivy Nile/Tatum Paxley vs. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter vs. Toxic Attraction. Blayze’s appearance was in reference to Cora Jade dropping her title in the trash last week, ala Blayze with the WWF Women’s Title in 1995. Opinion: It was quite the random cameo, but at least it does have something of a history. There were not many other optio..

Double Time: WWE Adds Two More Grudge Matches To Summerslam Card

It’s time to get things going. We are less than two weeks away from Summerslam and that means WWE is going to need to really crank up the card building on the way to Nashville. The show’s main events are mostly set but there are still some other matches that need to be set. That is easier said than done, but WWE managed to boost the card up in a big way this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured two grudge matches being added to the Summerslam card. First up, Seth Rollins vs. Riddle was officially confirmed for Summerslam. This match had been set up by the two of them attacking each other over the last few weeks. Later, Logan Paul appeared on MizTV, where Miz accepted Paul’s challenge for a Summerslam match. This comes after Miz attacked Paul after they won a tag match at WrestleMania 38. Opinion: This is the kind of night that Summerslam needed, as the card has gotten a nice boost in the span of a few hours. I’m kind of curious to see the show, as WWE is doing a fairly decent ..

WWE Made A Match, Upgraded The Match And Didn’t Air The Match

They changed their minds. There are a lot of issues with WWE at the moment and one of them is their inability to present the matches and segments that they advertise. WWE has a bad tendency to change their minds on something they plan to present and it can create issues. That was the case again this week, despite a last minute advertisement of the match. Last week on Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens issued a challenge to either Ezekiel, Elias or their brother Elrod. Ezekiel accepted the challenge on behalf of his family and it was officially announced for this week’s show. On top of that, at 6am on Monday morning, WWE announced that the match would be a Money in the Bank qualifying match. However, the match did not take place and was not mentioned during the show, with no explanation given of why the change took place. There is no word on if the match will be rescheduled. TONIGHT: @FightOwensFight will get his chance to qualify for the Men's #MITB Ladder Match! His opponent could..

First Match Set For Forbidden Door

The door is beginning to open. On tonight’s episode of Dynamite, we may have gotten a glimpse of the first match set for the upcoming AEW/NJPW crossover event, “Forbidden Door.” In the opening match of the show, CM Punk and FTR defeated the team of Max Caster and The Gunn Club. After the match, Punk cut a promo saying that it was time to begin selling the upcoming pay-per-view. He then issued an open challenge to anybody from NJPW to face him at the show. This brought out 8-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi, who seems to have accepted the challenge and will face Punk at Forbidden Door. Editor’s Opinion: A lot of people think that it was going to be either Okada or maybe Jay White that would be facing Punk, but Tanahashi is an excellent choice. Widely regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers of all time, this clash of styles should make for an outstanding mean event in a great way to sell the show. I’m looking forward to seeing these two warriors go at it! ..

WWE Adds Multiple New Matches To Hell In A Cell Card

They got some more covered. We are less than two weeks away from WWE Hell In A Cell and the show is going to be built around its namesake matches. Those matches do not make up the entire card though and that means WWE is going to need to add in something else to make it work. That is what they have done this week, as more matches have been added to the card. WWE added two more matches to this year’s Hell In A Cell card during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. First of all, Bobby Lashley challenged Omos to a match at the show, which was accepted. Later, MVP defeated Lashley in a match to decide who would get to pick the stipulation for Lashley vs. Omos. That night on Raw Talk, MVP decided he and Omos would face Lashley in a handicap match. The second match will see Kevin Owens face Ezekiel, after Owens issued the challenge. Hell In A Cell takes place on June 5. Opinion: This is the kind of a build that they needed for the show, which doesn’t have much going on at the moment. I’..

WWE Tag Team Title Unification Match Set

When 4 become 2. On tonight’s episode of SmackDown, the much anticipated Tag Team Championship unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos was finally set. The match will be taking place on next week’s edition of Smackdown. You can see the match being accepted below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The Winner Take All Tag Team Title Unification Match between RK-Bro and The Usos is back on and set for Friday Night SmackDown on May 20. Originally slated for WrestleMania Backlash, the budding rivalry between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre converted the clash into a Six-Man Tag Team showdown. The Bloodline got the best of the newly-formed trio, but Riddle, Randy Orgon & McIntyre showed they could push the blue brand champions to the absolute limit. So will The Bloodline be leaving SmackDown next week with all the gold, or can RK-Bro make those dreams go up in smoke? Editor’s Opinion: We reported earlier today that it was a rumor that the unification of th..

Worth The Wait: Update On Cesaro’s Wrestling Status

It might be a bit. Even though WWE and AEW get most of the attention, there are a lot of wrestling promotions throughout the world. Just because a wrestler is not appearing for one of those promotions does not mean that they have no value, as there are several wrestlers who can work for multiple promotions at once. That is the case with one prominent name, but at the moment he does not seem interested in appearing anywhere. Fightful Select has more information about former WWE star Cesaro’s status. According to the report, Cesaro has been contacted by several promotions about coming in he has not accepted any bookings. Cesaro’s asking price is said to be higher than most promotions can afford, which may be by design, as he may be waiting for the right offer to come along. Cesaro is currently a free agent and allowed to appear anywhere he wants at any time. Opinion: If Cesaro is happy and able to stay at home without a need to work, good for him. There is no requirement for him to get..

Round Two: New Grudge Match Set For WWE WrestleMania Backlash

It does fit the theme. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania Backlash, which should have a pretty obvious theme. With WrestleMania 38 in the rear view mirror, it is time to start focusing on the next show but there is still some fallout from WrestleMania to deal with first. Some of that will be done at WrestleMania Backlash as a new grudge match has been set. This week on Monday Night Raw, a WrestleMania rematch was set up for WrestleMania Backlash as AJ Styles accepted Edge’s challenge for a match. Edge defeated Styles at WrestleMania with an assist from Damian Priest. Styles has continued going after the two of them, though the pair attacked Styles in the locker room and injured his arm by slamming it in a locker door. Opinion: This isn’t a big surprise, though there was a chance that it might have been Priest getting to face Styles instead. Styles vs. Edge seems like it is on course to be a longer show, perhaps all the way to Hell In A Cell in June. I’m not sure how ..

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin Competes At WrestleMania 38

Oh Hell Yeah! In the final segment of Night 1 of WrestleMania 38, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was a guest on the KO Show. However, the segment deteriorated and Kevin Owens ended up challenging The Rattlesnake to a No Holds Barred match, which was accepted. This was Austin’s first match in 19 years. The two ended up having a true wrestling match, even spilling out and fighting in the crowd. Not only did Austin take a suplex on the concrete, but he even through Owens through a table near the end of the match. The finish came when each of them hit Stunners on the other, with The Rattlesnake hitting the last one for the victory. Editor’s Opinion: I have to say that I was in complete shock when this ended up being a match. I figured it would end up being a quick 30-second exhibition like we got with The Rock a few years ago in Dallas, but this was a true, straight up fight. Not only did Austin look great and provided a WrestleMania moment that will be talked about for ages, but Kevin Owen..
