During the latest episode of his podcast, former WWE star Mario Mancini told a story about then booker George Scott wanting Randy Savage to win the then WWF Title from Hulk Hogan in 1985. Making it to WrestleMania is one of the highest points that a wrestler can achieve and it means a lot for them. Getting to be in a major spot on the show is an incredible moment for a wrestler’s career, but two legends almost got their spot cut down. During a recent edition of Talk Is Jericho, Chris Jericho talked about his WrestleMania 28 match against CM Punk for Punk’s WWE Title. The feud between the two involved Jericho attacking Punk and insulting his family, as well as pouring alcohol down his throat. This caused Vince McMahon to plan the match to last two minutes, with Punk getting disqualified for attacking Jericho, as McMahon thought would make sense. Round two. Wrestlemania has come and gone and now it is time for…another show with Wrestlemania in the title. Just like last year, WWE has flat out said that this is going to be the Wrestlemania fallout show, even if some of the matches have little to do with what went down in Texas. It also doesn’t help that they have changed the main event from something somewhat interesting to something almost entirely uninteresting, but maybe they can pull something out here. Let’s get to it. It’s a big one. WrestleMania 38 is half in the books and while there is so much left to be done, there is a lot to look forward to in the future. Just because 38 is almost over doesn’t mean that it is too late to start thinking about the next year’s edition, and WWE has already done just that. There is a trend continuing next year and your individual taste on it may vary widely. On Saturday night at WrestleMania 38, WWE announced that WrestleMania 39 will again take place over two nights, this time at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1 and April 2, 2023. This will be the fourth straight year that Wrestlemania has been a two night event and the first WrestleMania in California since WrestleMania 31 back in 2015. WATCH: WWE Releases Touching Tribute To Shad Gaspard
He deserves the attention. We are well on our way to WrestleMania weekend and that means it is time to wrap up all of the preparations. In addition to WrestleMania itself, WWE presents the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This includes a variety of wrestlers getting their recognition, including one special inductee each year. Now one of them is receiving some extra attention. WWE has released a tribute video to Shad Gaspard, who will posthumously receive the Warrior Award at this Friday’s Hall of Fame induction. Gaspard passed away via drowning after telling lifeguards to save his son instead. During his WWE career, Gaspard primarily wrestled in a tag team with JTG as part of Cryme Tyme, though he did compete as a singles wrestler as well. It’s a touching tribute.
