SPOILER: Title Change Takes Place on WWE Smackdown

This article features a spoiler, so proceed with caution. Earlier this week, WWE taped its edition of Smackdown that will air on Christmas night, Friday, December 25, 2020. The show featured a number of high-quality matches, including one that has implications down the road. In the main event of the show, Big E defeated Sami Zayn to become the new Intercontinental Champion. This will be Big E’s second run with the championship. From our own Thomas Hall: WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Big E. defeated Sami Zayn to win the title. The lumberjacks were all Smackdown stars, plus Angel Garza. E. hit the Big Ending on Zayn to win the titles and got hoisted on the babyfaces’ shoulders to end the show. Night 1 of WrestleMania 36 is upon us. Since no one is able to make it live, and plans were thwarted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, let us make the best of this situation and have a watch party! The card is split in two, with several changes due to wrestlers not able to made it to the WWE Performance Center, or wisely decided to sit the event out, such as Roman Reigns. Samoa Joe has returned to challenge Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns came to the ring on Raw to talk about Brock Lesnar and their upcoming match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. Samoa Joe interrupted Roman Reigns to tell him that he thinks Reigns is a failure for not defeating Lesnar and he challenged Reigns to a match at WWE Backlash.
