REPORT: Stone Cold Steve Austin Not Training for a Match at WrestleMania 39

One of the bigger stories of the month has been WWE offering Stone Cold the chance to do another match down the line. It was not clear if they meant Austin doing something at a Crown Jewel event, or did they mean something for WrestleMania 39. The rumor mill got even hotter when videos of Stone Cold training came out on Instagram. People thought that after his great match in Dallas with Kevin Owens, he’d stepped up his training regiment to be ready for WrestleMania in Hollywood. The Texas Rattlesnake released his latest video on Instagram explaining his workout routine and addressing the “speculation” that has been built over his training. Click here to hear the latest news right from the mouth of Stone Cold himself Now, we have to remember that Stone Cold wrestled in Dallas and the wrestling world wasn’t this intense about his workout schedule a year ago. Also, Austin has been doing this for more than 30 years. He knows how to sell a ticket and it’s not even 2023 yet. There’s a cha..

Ric Flair Rules Out CM Punk, The Rock and John Cena as Opponents for Stone Cold at WrestleMania 39

The news dropped on Monday that Triple H and WWE officials were interested in having Stone Cold Steve Austin do more with the company following his long awaited return to in-ring competition at WrestleMania 38 against Kevin Owens. Since then, the internet continues to speculate on who the best opponent would be for The Texas Rattlesnake with WrestleMania 39 returning to Hollywood. Naturally, there are a handful of dream matches that would help sell out SoFi Stadium this April. The few names that have emerged from the rumor mill thus far include John Cena, The Rock and CM Punk. While they each have their own unique intrigue for the grandest stage of them all, The Nature Boy is ruling out a few of these big names himself. Related: How A Possible CM Punk WWE Return Is Being Received Backstage During his latest To Be The Man podcast on Wednesday, Ric Flair was asked about Austin’s next opponent and immediately didn’t see a potential WWE return and match with Stone Cold as a valid option ..

WATCH: Stone Cold Steve Austin Animated Series Reportedly Held Up By WWE

That sounds awesome. There are all kinds of ways to present wrestling stars and some of them have nothing to do with wrestling. Over the years, wrestlers have gotten into different forms of media as a way to present themselves to fans outside of their main industry. A legend is trying to do it again, but there might be a few problems preventing it from happening. Comedian Dan Soder appeared on Barstool’s KFC Radio and talked about having developed an animated series along with fellow comedian Dan St. Germain and Steve Austin. The series was sold to Peacock, but WWE and Peacock are now holding up the series in some unspecified way. The three developed the series during the Coronavirus pandemic but it has sat on the shelf for seventeen months due to the issues. There is no word on if the series will ever air, though Soder did say Austin himself was onboard. He can explain it better. Check out Soder’s comments: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not sure what is go..

WHAT? Stone Cold Steve Austin Backstage At Recent WWE Event, Offers Thoughts On Show

That’s a special one. There are all kinds of great stars in wrestling history but only a few have approached the level of Steve Austin. He is one of the biggest stars in the history of the industry and one of the most influential names in modern wrestling. Having him around means something and that was the case again this weekend, even if you probably didn’t see him on camera. WWE held a live event on Sunday night in Reno, Nevada under their Sunday Stunner banner. Natalya was on the show and revealed that WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin was backstage at the event. Austin responded to the tweet, praising the crowd as well as the wrestlers, saying they gave the fans a “helluva show”. Austin last appeared for WWE at WrestleMania 38 where he main evented night one and beat up Vince McMahon on night two. The coolest part of tonight in Reno was having @steveaustinBSR at our show watching every match backstage… Steve is the best. Truly. ?? — Nattie (@NatbyNature) July 11, 2022 R..

Opinion: The One To Defeat Roman Reigns

It’s no secret that WWE has considered Roman Reigns their top superstar for several years. He has headlined several Wrestlemanias, won multiple championships, and has been involved with every significant storyline in the company’s recent history. That has been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic; in the Thunderdome era, he became allied with Paul Heyman and had a fantastic feud with his cousins, The Usos. As a result, the Bloodline has become the most dominant faction in professional wrestling. Reigns is the longest reigning Universal Champion of all time, the Big Dog, the Tribal Chief, the Head of the Table, The One, and in my opinion, has established himself amongst the greatest of all time. I lump him in with Stone Cold Steve Austin, the rock, Triple H, the undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton, and others of that caliber. He is that good. However, as we know, all things and professional wrestling must come to an end, and at some point, he will lose the universal championship. But..

Stone Cold Steve Austin Officially Challenged For WrestleMania 38

There’s your answer. WrestleMania is on the horizon and that means it is time for WWE to find something to make the show feel as important as possible. That is often easier said than done but now the company seems to be putting together some of their bigger ideas. They still need a few more major concepts though and that is what they seem to have set up this week. This week’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw opened with Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens failing to win the Raw Tag Team Titles. As a result, the two did not have a path to WrestleMania, but Owens said he had an idea. At the end of the show, Owens said that he wanted to put on the biggest Kevin Owens Show of all time at WrestleMania. Owens issued a challenge to Steve Austin to be his guest. This comes after rumors of Austin wrestling another match at the event, with Owens insulting Austin’s home state of Texas for several weeks. There is no word on if Austin will appear before WrestleMania. Opinion: As much fun as it would have..

Eddie Kingston: An Imperfect Hero For An Imperfect World

No matter how they tell the story of professional wrestling, it is always the same. Good vs. evil; babyface vs. heel. The fans cheer for their favorite hero to finally overcome the bully that stands in their way of achieving their goals. However, outside the obstacles the heels may place, they do not seem to have many problems in their life. They smile, laugh, and have a good time. Maybe they have a family and are portrayed to have it all together. While fans do enjoy these characters, the ones they have always naturally gotten behind are the ones that seem the most real. Stone Cold Steve Austin became the biggest star in professional wrestling solely due to the fact the Everyday Man could see themselves in Austin. Everyone has had horrible bosses they wish they could give it back to. Daniel Bryan (now, Bryan Danielson in AEW) was relatable because every person in some sort of fashion has felt like they have been held down and told they aren’t what companies or people are looking f..

WHAT? WWE Announces Special Steve Austin Week

I’d say he’s earned it. The WWE Network has done some great things for wrestling history as fans are now able to see all kinds of wrestling that they might have never seen before. This includes both the wrestling itself but also WWE’s rather impressive documentaries about various things that have taken place before. There will be several of them coming this week and they will have a theme. There are starts in the wrestling world and then there is Steve Austin. In the history of wrestling, there are very few wrestlers anywhere close to Austin’s level and there may be no one bigger than him, at least in the modern era. Austin changed the way the wrestling world works and will be remembered for a long time to come. WWE is making sure that is the case. WWE has announced Stone Cold Steve Austin Week starting on March 16, known as Steve Austin Day. There will be four specials on the WWE Network and Peacock on Austin, including two documentaries, a special collection of Austin’s best matche..

AEW Champion Jon Moxley: Stone Cold Steve Austin Revisited

For years, WWE has tried to recreate Stone Cold Steve Austin. Sometimes the efforts were very subtle and other times, not so subtle. The excitement that once followed The Texas Rattlesnake to every town WWE ran, was infectious. It caught on in a major way and spread throughout the pro wrestling world. That excitement lead WWE over WCW during The Monday Night Wars and it completely revitalized Vince McMahon’s company. It’s arguably the most memorable and most popular part of The Attitude Era. WWE has tried to do it again with other Superstars, but to no avail. But now, AEW has found its own Stone Cold and the ironic part is, he used to work for WWE. Jon Moxley is the modern day rebel that every fan can believe in. He’s tough, he’s fearless and he’s unapologetic. He is who he is and nothing can change him. When Mox makes a prediction, he delivers. He fights the good fight and he does it his way. No one can tell him what to do and seemingly no one can stop him. If that sounds familiar, ..

Chris Jericho is the World Champion that AEW Needs at ‘All Out’

Chris Jericho will face Hangman Adam Page at AEW’s All Out on Saturday, August 31 in Chicago. The winner of that match will become the first-ever AEW World champion and will reign over the new company, which will make its weekly TV debut on TNT in October. This will not be the first time that Jericho has been in the main event spotlight of course and it will surely not be the last. However the same cannot be said of Page, who is being groomed for a top spot in the company. But while his time will come soon enough, Jericho’s time is now and he should win it all on August 31. Chris has been to the mountaintop of the industry on six different occasions. All of those titles came in WWE of course, with the most notable one being the industry’s first ever Undisputed World Championship. Very few gave Jericho a chance during that time and it had nothing to do with his ability in the ring. WWE was rife with Hall of Fame talent at that time, including Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. But ..

Becky Lynch Addresses Comparisons to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

As 2018 comes to a close, it’s hard to argue that anyone else but Becky Lynch had the better year. Since Summerslam, The Lass Kicker has been red-hot and everything that happens has improved her role with the company. She may have lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE TLC, but she’s entering 2019 with a ton of momentum. Her new attitude that could be seen as a babyface or heel run depending on your view, has drawn several comparisons to Stone Cold Steve Austin and other great anti-heroes in WWE history. It’s become a cliche to compare an anti-hero to The Texas Rattlesnake, but she recently addresses those comparisons during an interview with Gorilla Position. Related: Becky Lynch Named 2018 CBS Sports Wrestler Of The Year Becky Lynch said the following regarding the WWE Universe comparing her to Austin: “It’s quite an honor to be compared to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, he’s one of the greatest Superstar we’ve ever had. It’s unbelievable, unbelievable. So I take that with a l..

Animal is all about 'Rusev Day'. 24 year veteran of the pro wrestling game Road Warrior Animal joined "The Ride With JMV" podcast and spoke on a number of topics concerning the world of professional wrestling and promoted his own 'What A Rush' podcast that he hosts along with Joe Laurinaitis. During a particular portion of the discussion between JMV and Animal; Animal shared his thoughts on the superstars of WWE having the proverbial rug swept from underneath their feet. Road Warrior Animal stated that the WWE does not let a vast majority of their talents even attempt to reach the heights of a Hulk Hogan, or Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Andre The Giant, and other mega-stars that have edged their place in the history of the company. Animal name-dropped a few current WWE talents who he feels has been held back. "Yeah, they won’t let anybody get that strong anymore as you can probably tell. When someone gets a lot of steam on ‘em they pull the..
