RUMOR KILLERS On Two WWE Money In The Bank Stories

Not so fast. WWE runs major events almost every month, some of which are among the biggest wrestling events of the year. Several of these are annual events that are centered around the same concept matches every year. Under the company’s new regime, WWE has reportedly been moving away from such shows, but it seems that some possible changes will not be taking place. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Dominik Mysterio And Rhea Ripley Invade Rey Mysterio’s Home For Thanksgiving According to Fightful Select, two rumored Money In The Bank related stories are not taking place. First up, there have been rumors of both Money In The Bank ladder matches being moved to WrestleMania, but several members of the WWE creative team have said that while possible, no such changes have been made. Second, reports of LA Knight being penciled in to win the men’s Money In The Bank latter match in 2023 have not been discussed. While Knight winning is not impossible, it is not being talked about right now. Thes..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE May Move Major Annual Matches To WrestleMania

That would change things up again. WWE has been going through a lot of changes in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are going to be ending anytime soon. There have been different wrestlers appearing with some returning after a long absence. This time though, a big time change could give a lot of those wrestlers something to do at the biggest event of the year. According to WrestleVotes during an interview with GiveMeSport, WWE is considering moving the Money In The Bank ladder matches to WrestleMania, with the men’s edition taking place on one night and the women’s on the other. This would also likely mean the end of Money In The Bank as a stand alone premium live event. This is currently just under consideration and not an official change as of yet. Money In The Bank has been a stand alone event since 2010. Opinion: I could see this taking place, as WWE does seem interested in getting rid of the theme shows. That is a move that I could have gone with a..

Get Well Soon: WWE Star On The Shelf With An Arm Injury

That could slow him down. Wrestling can be a violent sport and sometimes a wrestler is going to be put on the shelf due to some kind of an injury. That can happen to anyone and the question becomes how long someone is going to be out of action. That time can range from a little while to a very long time, but thankfully this instance seems to be a bit more on the lighter side. Last week on SmackDown, Sami Zayn appeared with his arm in a sling while talking to Theory. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Zayn’s injury is legitimate, though it is not clear what exactly is wrong. The injury is not seen as major and Zayn is expected back in the ring in a few weeks. Zayn has not wrestled since July 2 when he competed in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Opinion: That’s almost a relief as just a few weeks is a lot better than several months after major surgery. Hopefully Zayn is ok sooner rather than later as he is doing rather well as of late. Zayn is quite good in the r..

KB’s Review: Yes, Again

It must be that time of year again because I get to talk about WWE doing something stupid that misses the point of everything they were trying to do. Believe it or not, it’s Money In The Bank season again and despite the show being held just over a week ago, one of the briefcases is already gone. Also believe it or not, WWE didn’t do things in a logical way, but this time they are hammering things into the ground so much that it is somehow becoming even worse. As you will know if you have watched any WWE programming since Money In The Bank, Liv Morgan won the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match, cashed in on an injured Ronda Rousey a few hours later, and is now the SmackDown Women’s Champion. WWE has somehow turned this into a moment on the level of Shawn Michaels’ Boyhood Dream and at this point, I can’t even say I’m surprised. Following the win, and even immediately following it, WWE treated Morgan’s win into something for the ages and hasn’t really stopped since then. Between p..

Over There: WWE Star Officially Moving From Monday Night Raw To SmackDown

She probably should be. With so many wrestlers under one banner, WWE has to split them up into multiple rosters. In theory the rosters are specific for each show, but that is not always the case. That can make for more than a few interesting situations, especially when one wrestler moves to another roster. Sometimes that needs to be the case and it seems to be so again, especially since a title is involved. According to PWInsider.com, Liv Morgan has been moved from the Monday Night Raw roster to the SmackDown roster. This comes after Morgan defeated Ronda Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion last weekend at Money In The Bank. Morgan won the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match earlier in the night and cashed in on Rousey despite being part of the Monday Night Raw roster. Morgan had been on the Monday Night Raw roster since she was drafted to the show in October 2021. Opinion: This is about as logical of a move as there was to make and WWE didn’t have much of another ..

Surprising Name Wins Money In The Bank, One Briefcase Already Cashed In

They’re not wasting time. Money In The Bank has become one of the most important shows of the year for WWE and it isn’t a surprise. The show features a pair of matches that can allow nearly guaranteed title changes at some point down the line, making the show’s namesake matches very important for anyone involved. That was the case again this year and things were off to a hot start. WWE held its annual Money In The Bank event this weekend with both a men’s and women’s Money In The Bank ladder match included. First up, Liv Morgan won the women’s edition and cashed in her briefcase on Ronda Rousey later in the night to win the SmackDown Women’s Title. In the show’s main event, Theory won the men’s edition, despite not being entered in the match coming into the show. WWE official Adam Pearce came out before the match and announced that Theory was included. Opinion: It was certainly an eventful night and it is fun to see the briefcase cashed in on the night of the show. I like the idea of..

Money In The Bank 2022 Date: July 2, 2022 Location: MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Byron Saxton Corey Graves, Jimmy Smith, Pat McAfee, Michael Cole It’s the ladder show as we focus on becoming something close to the #1 contender. That means the show is going to be built around the two ladder matches, so there aren’t going to be many options for the rest of the card. There are enough title matches around to fill things out, but this is all about the ladder matches. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at a bunch of the people on the show and how they could make it big tonight. Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan vs. Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Shotzi vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Lacey Evans Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. It’s a brawl to start with Asuka being left in the ring to strike at Becky. A sliding kick to the face drops Becky and Asuka takes a ladder that Shotzi tries to bring in. SmackDown Results – July 1, 2022

Smackdown Date: July 1, 2022 Location: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole It’s the go home show for Money in the Bank and that means we probably need a lot of talk about the percentages of wrestlers who successfully cash in. I for one could go for some good old statistics to make me care about the show, as it isn’t like there is much else to say. Maybe they can surprise us though. Let’s get to it. The participants in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match are on ladders in the ring (save for Omos) and talk about how they want to win on Saturday. It means they can cash in, with Seth Rollins saying Summerslam sounds like a good idea. Sami Zayn says he’ll win and keep the contract in the Bloodline’s house. MVP laughs off the idea of anyone but Omos winning and there is no one who can do anything to stop them. Sheamus wants to beat Brock Lesnar, though Drew McIntyre says he has already done it. Cue Miz (Drew: “The frickin MIZ?”) to says he is a t..

WATCH: Becky Lynch Cuts Fiery Promo After Monday Night Raw

She kind of has a point. The WWE Women’s Revolution is now about seven years old and it has certainly had an incredible impact. WWE’s women’s division has come a very, very long way and it is great to see what it has become. A lot of this has been due to the main core cast of stars and now one of them had something to say this week after a major win on Monday Night Raw. The main event of this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw saw Becky Lynch win a five woman elimination match to qualify for the Money In The Bank ladder match. After the show was over, Lynch cut a promo, talking about how she didn’t need a John Cena pep talk because she is the definition of Never Give Up. Lynch talked about how she has been knocked down, but this is her comeback story. She wrapped it up by saying she just beat everyone and dropped the microphone to end the night. It was a heck of a speech. Check out what Lynch said after the show: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind ..

There They Go: Two More Names Qualify For Money In The Bank On Second Try

The field is almost complete. We are less than a week away from WWE’s annual Money In The Bank event and the card is mostly set. As usual, the show will be built around the namesake ladder matches, which will feature several men and women vying for what is nearly a guaranteed title reign at some point in the next year. Now we know two more of the entrants. This week on Monday Night Raw, two more people qualified for the Money In The Bank ladder matches. In the opening match on the show, Riddle won a battle royal, last eliminating the Miz, to earn his spot. Then, in the show’s main event, Becky Lynch won a five woman elimination match, last eliminating Doudrop, to become part of the women’s match. The completes the women’s field while the men’s has one spot remaining. Opinion: This is the kind of night that the pay per view needed as you have two of the likely favorites joining the field in the span of three hours. Riddle is going to be a heavy favorite and Lynch is the biggest star i..

Two More: Multiple Names Qualify For Money In The Bank Ladder Matches

There are a few more. With less than two weeks to go before WWE Money in the Bank, WWE still has several slots left to fill for the show. This includes multiple names for the show’s namesake matches but WWE has already gotten some of them covered. They did even more of that this week, as a few more names qualified for the men’s and women’s versions of the matches. Two more names were added to Money in the Bank ladder matches this week on Monday Night Raw, with one man and one woman qualifying. First up, Omos defeated Riddle to become the fourth entrant (along with Seth Rollins, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre) in the men’s match. Later, in the show’s main event, Asuka defeated Becky Lynch to join Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the women’s match. Eight entrants are scheduled per match, with the show taking place on July 2. Opinion: The last few weeks have been full of matches where the fields grow, but then the ladder matches themselves have to actually work. T..

Keep Them Coming: WWE Adds More Names To Money In The Bank Ladder Matches

Keep filling up those spots. We are coming up on WWE’s annual Money In The Bank event, which will be headlined by the show’s namesake matches. These matches are among the biggest that WWE presents all year with some of the more prominent names in the company competing for a guaranteed on-demand shot at the World Title. Now we know some more names who will be getting their shot. This week’s SmackDown saw three more names added to the Money In The Bank ladder match fields. First, both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre were added to the men’s match. This is the result of a decision by WWE management after last week’s qualifying match ended in a double disqualification. Later in the show, Raquel Rodriguez defeated Shayna Baszler to qualify for the women’s match. This means the men’s match now has three entrants (Sheamus, McIntyre, Seth Rollins) and the women’s match has four (Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez) out of eight spots per match. Opinion: This is the kind of night ..

Put Them In: More Names Qualify For Money In The Bank Ladder Matches

Three more. We are rapidly approaching the next WWE pay per view with Money In The Bank. The show is one of the most important on the WWE calendar as winning the show’s namesake match can be a game changer for anyone’s career. Being in the match means you have a shot, and now we know some more names who are going to be included on the show’s card. Three new names qualified for the Money In The Bank ladder matches this week on Monday Night Raw. First, Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss defeated Nikki Ash and Doudrop in a tag match where the winning team qualified for the Women’s version. Later, Seth Rollins defeated AJ Styles to qualify for the Men’s match. This leaves five spots left in the Women’s match and seven left in the Men’s match. Opinion: You have to get these spots set up sooner than later and that is what WWE is doing here. They had to start filling in some of those spots because the show is in just over two weeks. There are some big names already attached to the matches and that ..

Monday Night Raw Results – June 13, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: June 13, 2022 Location: Intrust Bank Arena, Wichita, Kansas Commentators: Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith It’s the first Raw without Cody Rhodes in a bit and that doesn’t exactly leave us with a ton of options. The biggest problem would seem to be the lack of a main event star around here, but maybe we can find someone in the Money in the Bank qualifying matches. Let’s get to it. We open with MizTV with special guest Paul Heyman. Miz talks about the Money in the Bank ladder match and puts over how important the briefcase can be, including his two wins. Heyman says that the percentages don’t matter because whoever wins is going to lose to Roman Reigns. We hear about Reigns vs. Riddle on Friday, so here is Riddle to discuss various testicles. Riddle is ready to win the title on Friday but Heyman doesn’t think Riddle is even going to win tonight. As for Friday though, he can win, or he can never have another title shot ever. Heyman brings out the Usos but..

WATCH: WWE Star Possibly Injured During Match On This Week’s SmackDown

It can happen to anyone. There are a lot of ways for a wrestler to have their careers derailed and one of the easiest is through an injury. These things can pop up at any given time and some of them can be absolutely devastating. Unfortunately you never know when they are going to happen and it seems that we might have seen another one right before our eyes this week. This week’s edition of WWE SmackDown featured a match between Lacey Evans and Xia Li for a spot in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Evans won the match to qualify, defeating Li with the Woman’s Right. A video from after the match has made its way to YouTube, showing Li being checked on by the referee and medical staff. Li had to be helped to the back and it is not clear how badly she may be hurt. There is no word on her potentially missing any ring time. That doesn’t look good. Check out Li after her match on SmackDown: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Hopefully Li is ok and just shaken u..

WATCH: WWE May Be Making A Huge Change To Money In The Bank

That sounds like an upgrade. There are certain WWE matches throughout the year that can shape the rest of the calendar. Some of these matches will spend months getting ready, but the payoff winds up being worth it in the end. One signature WWE match can become a big deal at any time, but now WWE might be making a change and giving it a set spot at the biggest show of the year. This weekend’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash featured a promo for July’s Money in the Bank event, as narrated by Cody Rhodes. During the video, Rhodes mentioned that the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder matches would win the chance to main event WrestleMania. While not confirmed, this could mean that the winner of the match receives the WrestleMania World Title shot as opposed to being allowed to cash in at any time. WWE has NOT confirmed a change to the match though and this may just be poor wording in the video. See for yourself. Check out what Rhodes said about the matches: [This post contains video, clic..

Anyone Seen Her? Update On Asuka’s WWE TV Status

Where was she again? With so many talented wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy to forget where one of them is from time to time. What makes it worse is that sometimes those wrestlers will disappear for longer than usual and it takes a bit to remember how long they have been gone. That is the case with one of the better stars on Monday Night Raw and now we know something about them. Asuka has not wrestled for WWE in over a month, last competing in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at Money In The Bank on July 18. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Asuka is not injured and has simply not been used. Asuka was present at recent Monday Night Raw tapings but left early when she was not going to be used on the show. There must be something for her to do. Check out what WWE is leaving on the sidelines: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those..

Monday Night Raw Star Moved To SmackDown

Another shakeup. WWE is in the middle of a bunch of changes and that might not be the worst thing. The company has been in a bit of a rut over the last several months but the talent is certainly there. Sometimes you need something to switch it up a bit and that is what we have been seeing as of late. Now they are making a series of changes and now we have the next one. According to PWInsider.com, Naomi has been moved from Monday Night Raw to SmackDown. This comes after Naomi participated in the Money in the Bank ladder match as a member of the Monday Night Raw roster in a losing effort. Naomi has wrestled on both Monday Night raw and SmackDown over the course of her career, including two reigns as SmackDown Women’s Champion. Naomi has some star power. Check out what she can do on SmackDown: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of move that could help both SmackDow..
