Several New Wrestling Documentaries Coming This Year

Another look. There have been all kinds of wrestlers over the years and several of them have some very interesting stories. That is the kind of thing that can make for some fascinating looks back and in recent years, a good many more of those looks have taken place. Now we seem ready to see even more, as some fresh wrestling documentaries are in the works. According to Fightful Select, the Reelz movie channel is planning to release several new wrestling documentaries this summer. Names that are confirmed for such documentaries are Roddy Piper, Steve Austin and Chyna, though it is not clear if the living people or their families will be involved. These are not part of the A&E documentary series and are not expected to have involvement from WWE. Opinion: This is an interesting idea, but at the same time I’m not sure how well things will go with limited participation. At the same time, Piper and Austin are names who have been documented before, with Austin’s story being fairly well know..

VIDEO: Trailer Released For New Chyna Documentary

It’s an interesting topic. WWE has been around for a very long time now and there are certain periods of time in the company’s history that stand out more than others. One of the most infamous of them all is the Attitude Era, which is still regularly talked about over twenty years later. There were some fascinating people appearing during that time, and now one of them is getting a bigger spotlight. Vice TV, by way of 411mania.com, has announced that they will air a documentary on WWE star Chyna on June 17. The documentary will cover Chyna’s career and life, including comments from her family and people from the wrestling industry, such as Mick Foley and Sean Waltman. In addition to her career, the two hour film will also look into her mental health and substance abuse issues. The documentary will not be part of the Dark Side of the Ring series but rather a stand alone film. This could be rather interesting. WATCH: Shawn Michaels vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin From Wrestlemania XIV (14)

The Austin Era has begun. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Shawn Michaels and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin from WrestleMania 14. It was here that The Rattlesnake earned his first WWE Championship. You can see the match in its entirety below: From our own Thomas Hall: They circle each other to start and there’s a double bird for HBK. Shawn pops him with a left hand and does it again a few seconds later. The champion runs away but gets caught back inside as Austin pounds away and pulls Shawn’s tights down to give the girls a thrill. A backdrop puts Shawn on the floor but HHH gets in a shot to Austin’s back. He sends Austin into the barricade which gets both him and Chyna ejected. Austin beats up HHH in the aisle but it lets Michaels get in a shot to take over. Shawn sends Austin into the dumpster shoulder first and we head back to the ring. The challenger comes back with right hands and there’s a Flair Flip which must feel like..

Breaking: WWE Announces First Inductees Into 2019 Hall Of Fame Class

They’re up first. There are stables and then there are stables. Some of them are rather inconsequential, but when you get to the top of the list, a stable can have as big of an impact as anything else in wrestling. A stable consisting of several names can do more than an individual just through a pure numbers advantage and that makes them all the more important. Now one of the biggest ever is being honored for their work. As announced on WWE.com, D-Generation X will be joining the Hall of Fame in this year’s class. The stable, which first debuted in 1997, has appeared on and off in various incarnations for over twenty years with several different lineups and reunions. The graphic for the announcement shows Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws. WWE has inducted certain members of stables before, such as the Four Horsemen. I’m sure this will be near the top of the list. Check out some of D-Generation X’s greatest hits: [This post contains video, click to play..

Fans Cry Foul:  WWE Reinstates Hulk Hogan While Chyna’s Legacy Ignored

Earlier this week, WWE officially reinstated Hulk Hogan to the WWE Hall of Fame. This comes just three years after severing ties due to a racist rant that was captured as part of a sex tape involving Hogan and Heather Cole. Their trysts were arranged and secretly videotaped by Cole’s husband, radio host Bubba “the Love Sponge” Clem. For many fans, this decision reignites frustration that Chyna’s career in porn is cited as the reason she has not been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Shortly after WWE’s announcement of Hulk Hogan’s reinstatement, fans weighed in on Twitter: Chyna (real name Joan “Joanie” Marie Lauer) was a groundbreaking wrestler and entertainer who competed in intergender matches and twice held the Intercontinental Championship. She was the first woman to participate in both the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring tournament. Chyna also won the Women’s Championship in 2001, eventually vacating the title and leaving the promotion. Her in-ring success with the WWE led to ..

How WWE Views Differences Between Chyna And Paige’s Adult Content

During Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer discussed how WWE views the Chyna and Paige videos available on the internet differently. During the live show, Meltzer explained in further detail why Chyna is still not being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, while Paige, who has had over an hour of adult footage and hundreds of pictures shared online is the current SmackDown Live General Manager. Bryan Alvarez continued the conversation, painting the picture rather clear for those confused about the differences: “Well, the answer is they’re two exceedingly different situations. Chyna did her’s willingly. Chyna went out and shot a porn tape. Paige had videos from her phone stolen and put on the internet. It’s totally different. One person was a victim and the other went out there and did it willingly.” The bottom line for WWE seems to be that Chyna willingly participated in porn films. Paige was a victim of a terrible online leak that still continues to this day. Paige discusses the ..
