RUMOR: More Details On 2021 WWE Draft
We need to shake things up. There are so many wrestlers and performers of various types in WWE that sometimes you want to see how things would go if it was mixed up a bit. It doesn’t help when you have Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT as separate brands, but every now and then you get to see things mixed up a little bit. Now we know more about it happening again.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, the 2021 WWE Draft will be held on the August 30 Monday Night Raw and September 3 SmackDown. There are currently plans for some big names to be moved around and WWE is hoping to make the Draft feel like a bigger deal than in previous years. There is no word on who will be moving where or how many names will be changed.
The WWE Draft is taking place on Aug 23rd & Aug 27th.
Im seeing a few reports that WWE doesn't have set plans for after the draft.
I can tell you that report isn't totally accurate. WWE has big plans for some who will be switching brands following SummerSlam. 1/2

With that said… I have heard the goal is to give this year's draft a bigger feel than the previous for all the reasons you imagine. You have a unique opportunity to hit the reset button on a lot of talent.

Opinion: This is one of those events that WWE holds every year and I’m not completely sure how much of a change WWE can make this year. The only way to really make it that much bigger is to add in NXT, which has needed a shakeup of its own. One of the biggest problems that WWE has these days is the feeling that everyone can be rotated in and out of any place. Until that problem is fixed, and it would take a long time, the Draft is only going to have so much of an impact.
