Paige Still Hopeful About Returning To The Ring

Maybe? If there is one thing that you should probably not do in wrestling, it is say never. After names like Edge and Daniel Bryan have managed to return to the ring after retiring for years on end due to various injuries, it does seem like anyone could pull off the same accomplishment. Some of these might seem more far fetched than others, but someone else is saying the same thing.

There are very few wrestlers in WWE today with the kind of story that Paige has. After being brought into WWE at a very young age, Paige became one of the more polished stars in NXT and won the first ever NXT Women’s Title. Then she debuted on Monday Night Raw and became a star there as well, to the point where a movie was made about her life. Unfortunately a neck injury ended her career, but she does not seem to have given up hope.

During this week’s SmackDown, Edge and Bryan had a conversation backstage where they discussed the possibility of facing each other at WrestleMania 37. Both liked the idea and said that it would have been a long time in the making due to their injury issues. Paige responded to the moment on Twitter, saying “one day” with a symbol of fingers crossed. Paige, 28, has not wrestled since December 2017 and retired the night after WrestleMania 34 in 2018.

Opinion: I’m more than a big skeptical about this but I would have said the same thing about Bryan and Edge years ago and yet they’re back in the ring as well. Paige’s neck was in really bad shape and while it’s possible she might be able to do something in the distant future, I”m not exactly believing that it’s going to be the case. I’d love to be wrong though, as retiring in your mid 20s is far too early.
