Thank Goodness: Jim Ross Reveals How He Saved WWE Hall Of Famer’s Life

Bigger than wrestling. There are all kinds of names in wrestling history, but very few have had the impact as Jim Ross. Over the years, Ross has been an on-air personality as well as a WWE executive who had several responsibilities behind the scenes. Ross is a true legend of wrestling, but now he is telling a story about something he did for a wrestler which was way more important than anything in a ring.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Farewell Then: Wrestling Legend Reveals His Upcoming Retirement Plans
During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross told a story about talking to Sgt. Slaughter in a hotel. Slaughter got in the elevator and collapsed, with Ross believing he had suffered a seizure. Ross saw what happened and had someone call an ambulance, in addition to pulling Slaughter out of the elevator. Slaughter was able to receive medical attention and made it out of the situation in good health.

Farewell Then: Wrestling Legend Reveals His Upcoming Retirement Plans

Hanging them up. Wrestlers have a weird situation when it comes to retirement. Since they can always wrestle one more match and then step away again, it is hard to find someone who actually retires and then stays gone for good. Those moments are fairly rare, but you hear about them quite often. Now we are hearing about another legend who has an end date in sight.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: ACTION! Chris Jericho Lands Role In Upcoming Wrestling Film
During a recent edition of his ARN podcast, Arn Anderson announced that he had a year and a half left in his AEW contract and that he planned to retire when that was up. Anderson spoke about wanting to train his son Brock and help him get ring time, be it in AEW or on the independent circuit. Arn also originally said that he would be finished in 2023, but later sent out a message on Twitter, saying that he misspoke and had a year and a half left on his contract, which would end in the middle of 2024.

What’s Next: Update On Goldberg’s WWE Contract Status

Not so fast? There have been all kinds of wrestling stars throughout the years but only a handful have reached the level of Goldberg. Armed with a spear and Jackhammer combination, Goldberg’s quick matches became one of the most popular attractions in WCW and built up his WWE career. While Goldberg only wrestles on occasion these days, he does have a future in wrestling, at least in theory.

Goldberg’s current WWE deal expires at the end of the year, though he has no remaining matches on his contract. While there have been rumors of Goldberg signing a new deal, according to Fightful Select, that would be “news to his reps that negotiate those kinds of deals”. Goldberg’s most recent match took place at Elimination Chamber in February, when he was defeated by Roman Reigns. There is no word on Goldberg signing elsewhere once his contract expires.

WRESTLING RUMORS: Edge Returning For Huge Match At WWE Royal Rumble

That’s a big one. We are coming up on the Royal Rumble and that means there are going to be several stars busy. With sixty wrestlers being used in the show’s namesake matches, there is not much room for anything else on the show. That means WWE is going to need to have something big to make up for it, and they might have one of the biggest matches available.

ACTION! Chris Jericho Lands Role In Upcoming Wrestling Film

It’s a gig. Wrestlers are often compared to actors and the comparison makes some sense. While wrestlers are athletes, they are in pre-determined situations that can be seen as a performance. However, wrestlers do not always have the best luck when it comes to transitioning into acting. You do see it happen every now and then though, and now a top star is going to be trying his hand at another acting role.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: AEW Contract Status Of Former WWE Star

He’s In: AEW Contract Status Of Former WWE Star

He may be around. There are a lot of talented stars on the AEW roster and some of them have been around since the beginning. As good as the original crop of wrestlers were, there is also the need to bring in fresh stars. AEW has done that multiple times over the years, and now they are doing it again with a star that you might have seen wrestling in another prominent place.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Bro? Conflicting Reports On Matt Riddle’s Absence And Possible Suspensions From WWE TV
Earlier this month, Trent Seven made his AEW debut as a surprise challenger for Orange Cassidy’s All-Atlantic Title. Seven has gone on to make additional appearances, including this week on Rampage. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Seven is appearing on a per appearance deal rather than on a full time contract. There is no word on how many dates he is set for in the future.
Seven is a nice pickup. Check out what he can do in the ring:

Bro? Conflicting Reports On Matt Riddle’s Absence And Possible Suspensions From WWE TV

Hold on a second. WWE is a huge wrestling company and does what it can to take care of its wrestlers. This includes a full medical staff to take care of various issues, but there are other instances where additional help is needed. Occasionally WWE will send wrestlers to get help outside of the company and that seemed to be the case with one of its stars. That just might not be what happened though.
IN CASE YOU MIsSED IT: Clean Bill: NXT Star Announces He Is Medically Cleared After Two Month Absence
Earlier this month, a report surfaced saying that Matt Riddle had been sent to rehab following a second failed drug test. The Wrestling Observer reports that this is not the case though, as Riddle’s situation violates the WWE Wellness Policy. Riddle’s first positive test resulted would have likely resulted in a thirty day suspension (as per WWE’s policy), but he did not wrestle from July 25 until August 20, which is less than thirty days.

Clean Bill: NXT Star Announces He Is Medically Cleared After Two Month Absence

He’s back. WWE has several tools at its disposal, with one of the most valuable being the NXT developmental system. NXT allows WWE stars to be built up on the job, which is more than almost any other promotion can offer. It can mean a lot to have a WWE star come up through the NXT system and now an eye catching star is going to be able to return to the ring after a hiatus.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: New Plan: Here Is What WWE Likely Has Planned For The Returning Cody Rhodes
NXT’s Quincy Elliott has announced that he has been medically cleared to return to the ring, though he did not say when he would be wrestling again. He has been out of action since the October 18 edition of NXT and it is not clear what kind of injury has kept him on the shelf. Elliott, the self described Super Diva, made his NXT debut in March and co-hosted Halloween Havoc with Shotzi.

New Plan: Here Is What WWE Likely Has Planned For The Returning Cody Rhodes

Run it back? An injury is one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling as you never want to see someone put on the shelf for any amount of time. Another problem is losing the momentum a feud or storyline may have, as everything has to be stopped. That was the case earlier this year, but now we might have an idea of where things are going when an injured WWE star returns.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back Soon: Here’s Why Kevin Owens Did Not Make His Scheduled SmackDown Appearance
Cody Rhodes returned to WWE earlier this year at WrestleMania 37, where he defeated Seth Rollins. Rhodes went on to defeat Rollins again at WrestleMania Backlash, with a third match set for Hell In A Cell. Before the match, Rhodes would tear his pectoral muscle, only to go on and defeat Rollins in the match anyway. Rhodes has been out of action since June, but according to Wrestling Observer Radio, “there will be more talk about Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes” soon. While not confirmed, this would suggest t..

Back Soon: Here’s Why Kevin Owens Did Not Make His Scheduled SmackDown Appearance

The original plan. We are in the middle of the holiday season and that means things can go a little bit different in WWE. This includes taping some shows in advance so the wrestlers can have a bit of time off. WWE did just that this week as they taped a pair of SmackDowns on the same night. However, things were not quite as they were planned, with one wrestler missing the event.

This week’s edition of SmackDown aired live and was focused around an upcoming tag match between Roman Reigns/Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens/a partner of his choosing.
