It took long enough. Tag team wrestling has an interesting dynamic, as you can have two very talented wrestlers who have enough in common to make a great team. At the same time, there are often teams who are more different than similar, which can lead to issues. Those issues can even go so far as to having the team split up and that is what we saw this week.

This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a face to face confrontation between Swerve In Our Glory members Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland, as moderated by hip hop mogul Rick Rock. The two had been having issues in recent weeks and hoped to work them out. During the showdown, Strickland came to the ring but told Lee to watch his back, with Parker Boudreaux attacking Lee from behind. Don’t get your hopes up. There have been a lot of great stables throughout WWE’s history, with some of the better ones being around in recent years. It makes sense for a stable to be successful in modern wrestling, as there is a heck of a lot more television time for the teams to dominate. WWE name dropped a very successful stable recently, but a reunion does not seem likely.

Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and United States Champion Theory had a face to face confrontation. During their talk, Theory said that Rollins was the third most successful member of the Shield. This comes as WWE recently finished celebrating the ten year anniversary of the Shield’s WWE debut at Survivor Series 2012. This led to some speculation about a possible Shield reunion in WWE, but this is not likely at the time. Welcome back? Stables have been a huge part of WWE for decades and that will likely continue to be the case for a long time to come. The idea makes perfect sense as a stable allows several wrestlers to get television time at once while often uniting under a common theme. Now a current WWE star is teasing the return of a stable which did not get the best chance in the company.
WWE star Nikki Cross has released a video of herself talking to a series of drawings on a chalkboard. Cross blows bubbles at the pictures and says she’ll make sure the drawings will get what they want for Christmas before wiping them away. The drawing appears to be Cross from her time as part of the Sanity stable. This comes as rumors of Eric Young returning to WWE have been circulating, suggesting that Sanity could reform. However, there is nothing to confirm that the team will be back.

That could make a difference. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. WWE has a mixture of modern stars and legends on the main roster, and it can be interesting to see where they all fit in. Now though, there is some confusion about the contract status of one of the biggest stars that WWE has on its current roster.

According to Fightful Select, there are some discrepancies regarding previous reports of Edge’s WWE contract. Previous reports said Edge signed a three year contract in 2020, calling for 25 appearances and 5 matches per year, but Edge wrestled 21 times in 2021 and 6 times this year. There is a chance that the original report was inaccurate or that Edge’s deal was changed. It is not clear when Edge’s current contract expires or how many more matches he has left on his deal.

You never want to hear that. Wrestlers are over the top stars who do things that you would almost never see take place outside of the wrestling world. It makes for some outstanding and memorable moments when you see something like this take place in front of your eyes. However, there comes a point when the show is over and the wrestlers have their lives to go through. Now one legend is not having the best luck.

The Wrestling Collection, which represents WWE Hall Of Famer Koko B. Ware, has announced that Ware is in the hospital in Mississippi with an unspecified medical condition. There are no further details including what is wrong with Ware or when he might be able to be released. Ware, 64, wrestled in the WWE from 1986-1994 and lost the first ever match on Monday Night Raw when he was defeated by Yokozuna.

Earlier this month former WWE star Alex Riley, wrestling under his real name of Kevin Kiley Jr., returned to the ring for the first time in over six years. Kiley, 41, wrestled in a tag match for Create A Pro Wrestling in Lynbrook, New York, teaming with Tyrus to defeat Dante Drago and Jack Tomlinson. Kiley appeared on the Tyrus And Timpf podcast, where he said that he had ring rust and wanted to be in better shape, but was glad to be back in the ring. He also said that he wanted to return to the ring, though he did not say when or where..

Time to heal. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler as you never know when one can take place. No matter how well trained or experienced a wrestler may be, someone can get hurt at the drop of a hat and be put on the shelf for a very long time. That was the situation earlier hits year, and now we know a bit more about the extended recovery.

Back on March 11, Big E. suffered a broken neck due to a botched belly to belly suplex from Ridge Holland, leaving his in-ring future in doubt. During an interview with These Urban Times, Big E. revealed that he is scheduled to undergo more tests in March 2023 at the one year mark of his injury. His C1 is currently broken in two spots, leaving Big E. needing to make sure he made the best decision for himself. There is no word on if he will be able to wrestle again.

More than meets the eye. WWE runs a lot of television in any given week, with seven hours of national television between Monday Night Raw, NXT and SmackDown. That is a lot of material to cover and it means that WWE has its work cut out every time. Occasionally they have to mix things up a bit and that is what they did this week with a special editing trick to save themselves some time.

The show is set to be near Hollywood, California, meaning WWE is likely going to try to crank up the celebrity involvement.
