We’re still in front of one of those crazy Texas crowds and in this case there is a rather unique match. This time around we are having a Casino Trios Battle Royal, with the winning team splitting $300,000. That should be enough to make things interesting, and seems to be the big focal point this week. Let’s get to it.

Three Kings Christmas Casino Battle Royal
So this is a nine team Casino Battle Royal (basically the Royal Rumble) for $300,000 and all three members of the team have to be eliminated. We start with the Best Friends/Orange Cassidy, La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush/Preston Vance/Kalistico) and Butcher and the Blade/Kip Sabian. Triple brawls break out in various corners until the Best Friends and Cassidy are kicked into the middle of the ring for the Big Hug.

They got paid. There are several talented stars on the AEW roster, many of whom have been getting the biggest exposure of their wrestling careers. In some cases, wrestlers who have wrestled elsewhere for years are getting a chance to show their skills to the masses. Now one such wrestler, plus two younger stars, are getting quite another reward to go with what they have already earned.

This week’s edition of AEW Rampage featured a Three Kings Christmas Casino Battle Royal with the winning team winning $300,000. The team of AR Fox and Top Flight won the battle royal and the money, last eliminating the Blackpool Combat Club to win. Fox was signed to AEW last month, following a several years long career on the independent circuit. Top Flight has teamed in AEW for over a year, thoguh both members have missed several months each due to injuries.

That’s a different way to go. Wrestlers are very talented stars as they have to put in a lot of effort to get as far as they do in their careers. You can see when someone becomes a star in the ring, but many of them have other careers or interests as well. Now a WWE Hall of Famer is telling a story about how he was not allowed to pursue another career, at least in one instance.

Nash has dabbled in acting, both before and after his in-ring career ended.

The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter defeat Hikaru Shida to retain the title in a match that ran over sixteen minutes. According to Fightful Select, the match is receiving universal praise backstage in AEW, with Hayter in particular receiving praise. Hayter’s cohorts, Britt Baker and Rebel, are also being praised for their recent work in transitioning to Hayter’s support. It’s a taped show from Chicago, which means the fans should be livelier than most regular crowds. Since it is the Christmas season, the main event is a Miracle On 34th Street Fight as Ricochet and Braun Strowman vs. Imperium, but we also have a gauntlet match for a future Women’s Title match. Let’s get to it.
Here is the Bloodline to get things going. Paul Heyman talks about all of their upcoming wins, including the Usos defeating Hit Row later tonight and Solo Sikoa getting another victory. Next week though, it’s the biggest televised match of the year, as Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn team up to defeat Kevin Owens and John Cena. Reigns get the mic, but has to pause for a SAMI chant. Next week, Reigns is going to SMASH someone, but Sami is looking a little off.

That’s a bit more serious. There are a lot of people who come together to make a WWE show work and several of them are rarely seen on camera. In addition to the wrestlers who get all of the spotlight, there are all kinds of people who work hard to make the show a success. Those are people who help get the wrestlers ready, but WWE almost let one go over a recent incident.

Earlier this month, a story broke about D-Von Dudley being pulled from the Battleground Championship Wrestling “Tribute To The Extreme” event in Philadelphia. The promotion has said that the issue was a misunderstanding, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dudley was nearly fired over the incident.
