We are about a month away from Revolution and that means it is time to start hammering down the card. You can probably guess a good bit of it from here and that is a strong sign for the show. This week will feature a pair of title matches, including Jade Cargill’s latest conquest and Samoa Joe getting his rematch for the TNT Title. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page Moxley comes through the crowd with Wheeler Yuta and….his own father. Moxley starts the fight in the crowd and takes it into the audience as we are waiting on the opening bell. Page gets in a whip into a barricade and they keep brawling back to ringside. Moxley wraps the chair around Page’s leg but Page throws said chair at Moxley to take over.
They finally get in the ring and slug it out, with Moxley’s eye busted open. Moxley is fine enough to grab an armbar but Page is back up ..

He got it back. Titles are one of the most important things in the wrestling world. A championship is the way that fans figure out who the top stars in the company are supposed to be. In addition, they are often the focal point of major storylines as wrestlers try to win any championships they can. A title change can mean something and now that has taken place again.

The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite saw Samoa Joe defeat Darby Allin in an anything goes match to become the new TNT Champion. The win makes Joe a two time champion and ends Allin’s reign at 28 days, the second shortest in the title’s history. Allin had defeated Joe to win the title on January 4 and had defended the title four times over the course of his reign. It was made clear that there would be no rematches.

He’s busy. We are officially on the Road To WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start getting everything in order. This includes setting up the biggest matches possible, some of which can be a bit difficult to pin down. WWE likes to have as many big names on the card as they can, but if they want one of the most important, they are going to have to do it without much time in between.

According to Variety.com, John Cena has arrived in Australia to begin shooting on his new film “Ricky Stanicky”. As a result, Cena is expected to be in Australia for the coming weeks. There is no word on if Cena would be able to return to the United States for a WrestleMania 39 match, with the event taking place on April 1 and 2. Cena has teased a feud with Austin Theory, though no match has been officially announced.

Are they wrong? A wrestler’s theme music is one of the most important aspects of their entire presentation. Having the right theme music can move a wrestler up to the next level, but the wrong choice can cause them some problems. Music and wrestling often cross paths in other places too and sometimes that is not a good thing. That seems to have been the case last weekend, at least internally in WWE.

Over the weekend at the WWE Royal Rumble, Hardy gave a live performance of the show’s theme song, “Sold Out”. The song took place between the Women’s Royal Rumble and the show’s main event, with the commentators cracking jokes throughout parts of the performance. According to Fightful Select, most people backstage “scoffed at” the performance, saying it “compromised things”.

That’s a compliment. We are on the Road To WrestleMania 39 and that includes a variety of stars getting ready for the most important event of the year. There is one more big stop to make on the way there though and that is Elimination Chamber. While the show is usually built around the show’s namesake matches, there is something else expected this year and it is already getting some special attention.

The end of this year’s Royal Rumble event saw Sami Zayn turn on Roman Reigns and the Bloodline. According to F4WOnline.com, Zayn is expected to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the event in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal. The show will also feature Elimination Chamber matches for the United States Title and a shot at the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 39. Just a cameo. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be difficult to come up with something for everyone to do. With so much talent in the company, it can be quite the shakeup when someone else is added to the list. Every so often you will see a wrestler come in and then be gone again almost so fast, which seems to have been the case again this week.

Nia Jax made a surprise return to WWE in the women’s Royal Rumble, entering as the #30 entrant and being eliminated in just shy of two minutes. Jax did not appear on Monday Night Raw and as of Tuesday night, is still listed in the Alumni section of WWE.com. There is nothing to suggest that she has signed a new deal with the company or will be appearing regularly going forward, though this could still change. It was a last second situation. The Royal Rumble is one of the most unique WWE events of the year and will feature more wrestlers than any other show of the year. With two Royal Rumble matches on a single night, there are going to be sixty wrestlers spread out over two matches. That can lead to some difficulties in finding enough people, and this year it took until the very last minute.

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T. appeared in the men’s Royal Rumble event this year. He spoke about the match on his Hall Of Fame podcast, where he revealed that he was only told he was participating in the match during the Kickoff Show. Booker T. brought his gear with him and went to the ring cold, without having time to warm up. He joked that he would have won the match if he had time to get ready. Finally, he said that he was sore after the match, with his wife Sharmell having to walk on his back to get it in line again.

It can happen to anyone. Injuries are one of the worst things to happen to a wrestler as you can see anyone get hurt at any time in any match. The question after that is what happens next, as you never know how long someone is going to be out of action. Another wrestler is hurt, but thankfully things might not be as serious as it can be in various other situations.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Corey Graves mentioned that Dakota Kai was injured during the women’s Royal Rumble, though there are no details on what happened to her. According to Bryan Alvarez, the injury is expected to be minor. Kai did not wrestle this week on Monday Night Raw, but she did appear in a segment with Becky Lynch, who tied a chair around Kai’s leg and threatened her to get a match against Bayley.

That would be a big one. There are certain wrestlers who get your attention like no one else. Something about them makes them stand out from the crowd and having them on any given show is a special occasion. WWE has some of those stars around today and it can be a big deal to see them in action. That might be the case again with a legend on an upcoming show.
