That’s a relief. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to miss time from television and some of them are more serious than others. One of the worst reasons is an injury of some kind, as you do not know when they are going to be back. On the other hand, there are times when a wrestler is out of action due to a storyline injury, which means the return should be a lot faster. Thankfully the latter is the case in a current situation.

On the December 21, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland and Mogul Affiliates attacked Keith Lee, including Strickland hitting a top rope double stomp to crush a cinder block over Lee’s chest. Lee has not been see on AEW television since the attack. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lee’s absence is only due to the storyline injury and he is expected back soon to feud with Strickland.

Rhodes competed on Monday Night Raw, defeating Finn Balor in the show’s main event.

The biggest wrestling story of the year so far has been Vince McMahon ending his retirement after about five months to return to WWE. McMahon’s return has led to several questions, including a lot of people wondering if he will return to his former position in WWE creative. WWE CEO Nick Khan addressed the company running a future live event in India during WWE’s 4th quarter financial earnings call. Khan said that WWE is waiting for a merger between Zee and Sony India to be completed before the company runs an event in the country. While Khan did not give a specific date, he did say that the hope would be in April. WWE had planned a major event in India for January but it was held off, reportedly due to the looming merger.

“The Genius” Lanny Poffo Passes Away At Age 68

We have some sad news to report today as Lanny Poffo, who was known as “The Genius” in WWE has passed away at the age of 68.

The son of Angelo Poffo and younger brother of WWE Hall of Famer “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Lanny Poffo had a style all his own. Arriving in WWE in 1985 alongside his brother, “Leaping” Lanny Poffo was one of the first high-flyers in WWE. While he achieved some success as a fan favorite reading his own poetry and throwing Frisbees to the crowd, he reached new heights as The Genius while managing Mr. Perfect.
Lanny had the honor of inducting his brother into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015. You can see a clip of that below:

She Would Know: Missing WWE Star Says She Is Ready To Return, Unsure Why She Is Gone

She’s not pleased. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers on the WWE roster and it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. As a result, you never know when someone can be left sitting on the sidelines for a long time. That can happen to any wrestler at any time and now it seems that it is happening to another star. She does not seem happy about it either.

SmackDown star Aliyah has been absent from WWE television for over four months now with no mention of her whereabouts. Aliyah was reportedly injured at the time, but according to Sportskeeda.com, she posted a since two deleted tweets, saying she had “been cleared since October 27, 2022” and another saying that a return to the ring “ain’t my call”. There is no word on when she is expected to return to WWE TV.

On The Card: WWE Announces Another WrestleMania 39 Match

It’s a different kind of match. There are so many varieties of matches that a promotion can run that you almost never see a lot of them. Some will always pop up, such as No Holds Barred or a lumberjack match or a cage match, but occasionally something will come up that is brand new or at least not used very often. We might be seeing something like that again on a big stage.
