Making waves in the industry, WWE has introduced an Interim WWE Women’s Championship for this evening at SummerSlam Night Two, with reigning WWE Women’s Reigning champion Rhea Ripley currently sidelined due to a knee hurt. Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan question regarding the reaction to this development in the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A.
As noted by Sapp, he hasn’t “really heard anything negative” about WWE’s decision to create an interim crown for the division. There hasn’t been any “eye-rolling or anything like that.” Although the decision has faced criticism from some faithful, Sapp noted that the collection of stars “seemed happy” about the five-way ladder contest set to crown a fresh Interim Women’s Titleholder.
The ladder contest will take place on the night's program at SummerSlam Night Two and will feature Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, Charlotte Flair, and Lash Legend.
