Not So Fast: WWE’s New Hiring Practices Not What They Seem

That makes more sense. There have been a lot of changes taking place on the WWE landscape over the last few months and that changes are likely to continue. With so many different things taking place, it can be easy to get a bit lost with what is going on. It isn’t any better when you hear things that are not quite accurate, which seems to be the case again.

Several of the changes that have been taking place in WWE as of late involve NXT. Vince McMahon has not approved of how the developmental territory has been doing and he has decided to shake things up. This will include a new direction for the television show, as well as how wrestlers are chosen for the roster. However, the changes might not be as extreme as expected.

Earlier this month, reports began to surface that NXT would no longer be hiring independent wrestlers for its roster. However, according to PWInsider.com, this is not entirely true. Instead, while WWE will be looking for athletes from outside wrestling, they will not be opposed to hiring independent wrestlers if someone catches their eye. This is said to be more of a shifting of the focus rather than closing a door entirely.

There is a future for them yet. Check out some independent talents who have been brought in to WWE in recent months:

Opinion: I really can’t say this comes as a surprise but it does come as good news. There is nothing wrong with switching the focus if WWE does not think their previous idea has been successful so maybe this is a good thing in the long run. Above all else, it is a good sign that WWE is not closing their eyes to everyone on the independent scene. It would not make sense to cut everyone off entirely, so maybe things are not as bad as they seem.

What do you think of the new idea? Who should WWE sign? Let us know in the comments below.
