As the wrestling landscape continues to evolve, WWE star Large Cass surfaced on The Sal Licata Program, discussing whether his previous run as a partnership with Enzo Amore made it more difficult to establish himself as a singles star in the company.
Cass commented, “It definitely does, yes — because I’m coming back into WWE as a antagonist, right? I think we could talk about like heels and faces on your program, I’m pretty sure. I was in one of the hottest babyface acts in the company, i’m coming back as a heel and the closing time anybody that in that viewing audience saw me. Beyond that, top three, I would say, at that time..
On whether initial reports of Enzo’s return complicated things for his WWE return:
Meanwhile, And you argue with a wall if you don’t agree with that. Adding to the story, i would say at that point, we were top three babyface act in the entire company. And now I’m coming back by myself as a heel, and additionally, it makes things a lot harder. You go out there as a heel and people are booing you, however you do hear people in the crowds saying the established catchphrases at me. And I think they’re doing that to get under my skin, and I think that’s their true intention, which as a heel is a praiseworthy thing.”
“However yes, to answer your question, it’s a lot. It makes it way more difficult than having a clean slate. Interestingly enough, specifically because when news came out of me signing with WWE, it straight away got linked to him. Meanwhile, and people believed it, ‘They’re coming back together; they’re going to be running it back together.’ A lot of podcasts ran with that story. So then I come back on my own and some people like, ‘Wait, what?’ And so it kind of made it a little difficult, but I think so far I’ve done a pretty damn solid job in the situation I’m in, getting booed out of buildings — which is really the goal.”
