Mahal vs Nakamura; Future Brock Lesnar Opponents; WWE Theme Park Coming
Mahal vs. Nakamura
As Abbey noted in an earlier update, Randy Orton will be taking some time off from working WWE live events. Surprisingly, Orton did work a dark match against new WWE Champion Jinder Mahal after SmackDown Live last night. However, Orton’s absence this weekend will lead to the first ever meeting of Mahal and Shinsuke Nakamura in Chattanooga, TN. I assume they aren’t going to want to beat Nakamura this early in his run, so look for some kind of non-finish there.
Here’s footage of that aforementioned dark match:

For those speculating on how long Mahal’s WWE Title run may last, note that WWE’s planned tour of India takes place in September.
It is also believed New Day will be working that Chattanooga show as they make their return to the road this weekend.
Future Brock Lesnar Opponents
As you know, there is a Fatal Five Way match at WWE Extreme Rules to determine the #1 contender for the Universal Title, currently held by Brock Lesnar. As previously noted here, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor remain the likely favorites to win that match (it sure seemed as if they were telegraphing a potential Balor win in the segment with Paul Heyman on RAW). But, on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that it is likely that all five men in the match (Balor, Rollins, Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe) could be future challengers for Lesnar. Reigns has long been earmarked for a WrestleMania bout with Brock while Wyatt and Joe are likely challengers in the fall. Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman is still the most likely Universal Title Match for SummerSlam.
WWE Theme Park?
A friend sent me this article this morning. It hints at the development of WWE-based virtual reality attraction as well as “full-scale outdoor WWE Theme Park sites.” Entertainment design firm Forrec is behind the concept.
