Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt on The Young Bucks

Sunday night was quite a unique night for The Elite, particularly The Young Bucks. During Sunday night’s Talking Smack, new WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens spoke about himself as “a fighter. I’m a competitor. I’m the Elite.” He then added, “Wink, wink.” There was clearly an inside joke here, and it’s was a nod to The Elite, the group of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks replied to Owens’ remark.

Prior to signing with the WWE, Owens was in a stable called “The Mount Rushmore of Wrestling” for Pro Wrestling Guerilla. The stable included The Young Bucks and Adam Cole.

That wasn’t the only reference of The Young Bucks. Bray Wyatt went on Twitter to commend the tag team.

Matt and Nick, once again, followed up.

New Day’s Latest Milestone

As you may remember, The New Day have been the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions, but last night, the trio landed themselves in the history books once again. The New Day defeated The Usos to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WWE Battleground last night, and in doing so became the first team to win the RAW Tag Team Championship and SmackDown Tag Team Championship. The WWE also acknowledged New Day won the WWE Tag Team Championship, which was the name of the current Raw Tag Team Championship prior to the brand split.

After their win, The New Day reflected on their win and noted it was Xavier Woods’ first pinfall victory for a WWE title.
