John Cena advertised for July 4th SmackDown Live

While in a bit of a “ratings lull” right now, WWE’s toughest draw of the year probably will be running SmackDown Live on July 4th in Phoenix. That being said, they’re certainly trying. RAW is also in Phoenix on Monday 7/3, and WWE is running a 2 for 1 promotion where you can get tickets to BOTH shows at Talking Stick Arena.

That RAW will be the go-home show for Great Balls of Fire. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are being advertised, which should not come as a surprise given that Lesnar’s first Universal Title defense will take place at that pay per view.

But the more interesting tidbit from the two shows in Phoenix is John Cena being advertised for the 4th of July SmackDown Live. John Cena has, of course, been off TV since WrestleMania 33. Speaking of…

Cena recently did an interview with FOX Sports where he admitted to being “nervous” during his proposal to Nikki Bella after their match in Orlando.

“That was the most nervous I have ever been in my entire life and not only was I worried about her response, but I was worried about the reaction of the 75,000 people of the Camping World Stadium. I didn’t know that they would react in such a positive way, and I’m forever indebted to our fans for being able to allow me to celebrate the greatest moment of my life.”

Not sure which is the bigger work there: him being nervous about Nikki’s response or that attendance figure!
