R-Truth Getting Heat Over Memorial Day-Related Tweet

While several WWE Superstars took to their Twitter accounts today and remembered fallen veterans for Memorial Day, R-Truth went a different route and used it as an opportunity to further his feud with Goldust. This didn’t go over well with several fans as R-Truth is getting a lot of heat over his reply to Goldust’s Memorial Day Tweet:

WWE Monday Night Raw Results – May 29 2017

Welcome to our coverage of Monday Night Raw, less than a week from Extreme Rules!

Tonight we get another tease of the Fatal 5-Way coming up at Extreme Rules, as we will see Finn Balor tackle both Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt in a Triple Threat match. The odds seem to be stacked against Balor but based on the Paul Heyman promo last week, I think Balor is a favourite to win the Fatal 5-Way! With that in mind, Balor is likely to lose tonight, or the match will see a screwy finish. Another tease for the Extreme Rules number one contender’s match, sees Seth Rollins battle his former Shield brother, Roman Reigns. Tonight, just like the past few weeks, is all about each man gaining some momentum heading into the match – which usually comes at the behest of the guy who got momentum the week before, thus leaving practically nobody with momentum by the time Extreme Rules rolls around!

Elsewhere tonight, The Hardy Boyz prepare to face Sheamus and Cesaro in a steel cage match at Extreme Rules. These two teams will likely put on a barn-burner this Sunday and tonight I fully expect a primer to all the extreme action. There may even be a cage hanging above the ring! Also deep in preparation for Extreme Rules is the former Women’s Champion, Bayley. WWE’s resident hugger has yet to use a Kendo stick against Alexa Bliss ahead of their match of the same name. Alexa says Bayley doesn’t have what it takes but it sure looked like she did last week when Bayley stormed the ring with a stick in hand. Will the hugger finally unleash her extreme side tonight, or will Bliss antagonise her one last time?

Last week Enzo Amore was found in the backstage area, attacked by an unknown enemy. Big Cass was beyond furious about finding his partner in such a state, and vowed revenge if Angle couldn’t find the perpetrator himself. Could the attacker be none other than The Revival, who are returning to action soon following Dash Wilder’s broken jaw? Or is it someone else, maybe even Big Cass? That would be a hell of a twist. Hopefully we get more clues tonight as to who the attacker was, or maybe they strike again, maybe Cass gets hit this time.

On top of all that, we have Dean Ambrose ready to face The Miz on Sunday, as well as Elias Samson, still drifting around in the background. Tonight should be a good final build towards the one night of the year when WWE gets extreme. If nothing else, the show should be a heck of a lot better than last week’s Raw, which was a real snore-fest. Are you excited for the show? Let us know in the comments, check out the awesome Ringside News app, and enjoy the show!

WWE Now Actively Pushing Asuka’s Undefeated Record

With Asuka officially passing Goldberg’s WCW undefeated streak, WWE has started to push it on social media after basically ignoring it up until now. It all started when Triple H and Stephanie put her over on social media with the following tweets:

After that, they released a t-shirt at WWE shop touting her career milestone:

Asuka “And Still Undefeated” Authentic T-Shirt

Like most streaks, this one will eventually come to an end. Who do you think should beat the streak? Sound off in the comment section below…

Backstage Plans for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

It was previously reported last week via Pro Wrestling Sheet that WWE has plans to have a first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at this year’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.

In an update, Dave Meltzer reported on today’s installment the Wrestling Observer Radio that if the company still has plans to have the bout, WWE will setup the match during this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Meltzer said that he expects that only four female competitors will participate in the match. Meltzer also added that if the match could be switched to five competitors if they decide to bring someone up fron NXT. Meltzer did not indicate on who that person could be. We will keep you updated if we hear anything else.

Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – Women’s Tournament, Bobby Roode Deserves Main Roster, Is the PPV Model Dead? More!

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane and Glenn Gilbertti (Disco Inferno).

Russo asks Gilbertti about the ongoing criticism towards Jinder Mahal by some wrestling fans, who accuse him of taking steroids. Gilbertti informs that he has tried steroids in the past and from his experience, it’s entirely possible to look the way Mahal does without taking steroids. With a lot of hard work in the gym and a good diet you can achieve a physique such as Mahal’s.

Lane informs that IMPACT Wrestling and Ed Nordholm are discussing bringing Billy Corgan back into the fold, to help mediate the discussions between the promotion and Matt Hardy. The thought is that Corgan can be of some value when it comes to bridging the gap between all the parties concerning the Broken Universe.

Russo says that Nordholm has far too many distractions right now, and his recent memo to wrestling media is a prime example of this. In this memo, Nordholm made public various private conversations between himself and Matt Hardy in an attempt to prove that he has been telling the truth. Russo says that Nordholm should be more focused on trying to revive IMPACT’s on-air product.

Wrong Episode of Impact Wrestling Airs Again

The Spike TV network in the UK aired the wrong episode of Impact Wrestling last week. This isn’t the first time that the wrong episode has been aired. It was noted a while back that The Fight Network aired the wrong week as well due to the copy of the episode getting corrupted just before the initial broadcast. They ended up airing the previous week’s show.

Spike TV issued the following statement on Twitter regarding the wrong episode being aired:
