They seem happy. Wrestlers have very busy schedules as they are constantly on the road or using their limited down time to rest. That can cause a variety of problems all over the place and finding time for other things can be difficult. This often includes relationships, as wrestlers are away from everything so often. It can occasionally work though, and now two WWE stars are giving it a shot.

Current NXT stars Arianna Grace and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo have confirmed that they are in a romantic relationship. Lorenzo posted photos of the two of them together over the 2022 holiday season with Grace commenting “love you much” with hearts included. Grace is currently out of action with an injury and has implied she will not be back until later this year. Lorenzo is currently teaming with Tony D’Angelo.

We’re still on the first taping of this new show so things are likely to look like they did last week. The wrestling itself was pretty good, but the length of the show was quite the drag. They did offer something big at the end with Eddie Kingston showing up to challenge Claudio Castagnoli, so there is at least a path forward in the main event. Let’s get to it.
TV Title: Samoa Joe vs. Tony Deppen Joe is defending and works on the wrist to start. For some reason Deppen strikes away, earning himself a beating in the corner. Deppen fights back though and hits a running corner dropkick. A knee gives Deppen two more but Joe Rock Bottoms him out of the corner. Joe blasts him with a clothesline though and the MuscleBuster retains the title at 5:26.

We are on our way to a trio of shows with Sacrifice, Multiverse United and Rebellion, which makes for quite the packed series of builds. That got started last week with a little something for each show getting time, but they are going to have to do it again for the next few weeks. Let’s get to it.
Opening recap.
Here is Bully Ray to get things going. At No Surrender, Tommy Dreamer used the words “someone like me” (meaning Ray). What did he mean when he said that? Did he mean a two time Hall of Famer or half of the greatest tag team ever? Maybe a two time World Champion?
Ray wishes he knew what Dreamer meant, because he threw hot coffee into Dreamer’s face. Dreamer wants a Busted Open match at Sacrifice but there is no way Dreamer is making it there. Cue Santino Marella to call Bully “Bobby Ray” and say that Dreamer will be at Sacrifice. It was only a minor ..

She might need a restraining order. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster, some of whom are among the most unique kinds of stars that you will see in any wrestling promotion. It can be interesting to see those wrestlers come together in a match or some kind of a storyline, but there are other times where it takes a bit of a darker turn, which was the case with two current WWE stars.

Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Johnny Gargano defeated Finn Balor in a match, with Dexter Lumis and Rhea Ripley both at ringside. Lumis has sent Ripley a message on Twitter, featuring a drawing of him holding an ax and asking if Ripley liked drawings. Ripley has not responded to the post. Lumis debuted on the WWE main roster last year but has yet to speak a word on television.

Tagging in. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to get everything together for the card. That is going to include all kinds of special matches as the top stars come together for the biggest event of the year. WWE has already announced multiple matches for the card and will add another one this week, but things might be a little different on the way there.

Last week on SmackDown, WWE announced a fatal five way match to crown a new #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title, with the title match coming at WrestleMania 39. However, WWE has announced that Kofi Kingston has suffered a leg injury and will be replaced by his partner Xavier Woods in the #1 contenders match. Woods joins Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Karrion Kross and LA Knight vying for the title shot against Gunther at WrestleMania.

It’s a corporate thing. Wrestling is like any other industry in that there are always going to be people and companies that a wrestling promotion needs to please. This is the case with sponsors or owners, but also with their corporate partners. The concept was on display this week on national television, as a major promotion had to do something to please its television partner.

It’s been a bit. AEW has done quite a few things in its short history and a lot of the roster has been turned over throughout the years. Some wrestlers who were around at the start have since left for one reason or another, though some have just stopped appearing. That is the case with a former champion, who has not been around for a very long time for no apparent reason.

Earlier this week, former AEW TNT and Tag Team Champion Scorpio Sky commented on AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman throwing a drink at a young fan at Revolution. Sky said that it was “the smallest d*** energy imaginable”. According to Fightful Select, Sky has not been at AEW events in months and has rarely been seen since losing the TNT Title in July 2022. Sky has not wrestled since the loss and there is nothing to suggest that he is injured or has any problems keeping him out of the ring.

While this is true, the stories are built up in a way to leave fans wondering what they are going to see in a match or story. That can make things all the more interesting, and it could potentially make some money.

Back later? There are all kinds of storylines in wrestling, some of which might not make the most sense on the surface. Oftentimes, these stories are things that will not be paid off for a long time, as fans are left waiting to see what is going on. That seems to be what is happening again in AEW, as one of the company’s top stars is saying he will be gone for the time being.

There is no word on when Danielson will be back on television.

They liked it. There are certain stars who are able to draw in interest to any wrestling program they are on and it can do quite a bit of good for any promotion. Those stars are few and far between but when they are around, they can be quite valuable. WWE had one of them on their main television show this week and his appearance seems to have been a hit.

John Cena made an advertised appearance this week on Monday Night Raw where he was confronted by United States Champion Austin Theory. The two argued in the ring and a title match was set up for WrestleMania 39. According to Fightful Select, WWE was said to be happy with Cena’s appearance, saying that he added “familiar eyes” to this week’s show. There is no word on when Cena will be appearing on the show next.
