We’re still in California and it’s the fallout Rampage from Revolution. I’m not sure what that is going to mean as you never know what you are going to get on this show. One of the bigger matches announced is Konosuke Takeshita vs. Preston Vance in a match Takeshita could actually win. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti Guevara is more than a bit cocky to start so Andretti takes him down and starts hammering away. Andretti sends him outside and into the steps, setting up a dropkick and moonsault for two back inside. They head outside again with Guevara getting the better of things for a change. Back up and Andretti sends him outside again for a dive and we take a break.
We come back with a midair collision leaving both of them down. They slug it out with Andretti hitting a backbreaker into a neckbreaker to ..

A title reign helps define its specific era as it gives you a better idea of who the top stars in the company happen to be. That is the case with WWE today, and now a single title reign has reached a level that none like it ever has in the history of the promotion.

According to Fightful, as of Friday, the Usos have held the SmackDown Tag Team Titles for 600 days. This is the first time in the history of WWE that any Tag Team Title reign has reached this milestone. The previous record for any tag team title reign was Princess Victoria and Velvet McIntyre, who held the WWF Women’s Tag Team Titles for 572 days from 1983-1984. The Usos are also the Raw Tag Team Champions and have held the titles for 295 days.

One more time? Retirement is a difficult concept for a lot of wrestlers as they can have trouble walking away for good. While several wrestlers will says they are done for good, they often have the chance to come back for one more match. That can make for some interesting circumstances as you get to see someone make a surprise return. Now a WWE legend is teasing the possibility.

WWE Hall Of Famer Kane was interviewed by PWMania.com and was asked about a potential return to the ring. Kane, 55 years old, said that he will “always leave the door open”. While he does not know that a return to the ring will happen, Kane said that he will always enjoy wrestling and wants to be involved in it for the rest of his life. Kane is currently the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee and last wrestled in the 2021 Royal Rumble.

That’s a weird hill to fight on. There are all kinds of wins and accomplishments in WWE, with some of the company’s championships being among the most known in the wrestling world. It can mean a lot for a wrestler to win one of those titles, but now we are hearing about a situation where one wrestler refused to be seen with his title and even paid thousands of dollars to avoid having to do so.

Ric Flair won the Intercontinental Title at Unforgiven 2005 and went on to hold it for about five months. During the latest episode of his To Be The Man podcast, Flair talked about how WWE does not have an official photo of him with the title. Flair refused to take a photo with the title as champion and was fined $5,000 as a result. When fined, Flair said that WWE had a talent development problem if they had to fine a 55 year old man for not taking a photo with the title. Flair did not make it clear why h..

That’s a long time. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them can be quite serious. When you see someone get hurt, one of the most important questions is how long they will be out of action. This can range anywhere from days to several months and all points in between. Now we have an idea of how much longer someone is going to be out of action.

Last week on SmackDown, Kofi Kingston was injured, resulting in him being removed from a fatal five way #1 contenders match for the Intercontinental Title. Kingston revealed that he suffered some sort of foot injury, which according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, took place when Drew McIntyre dove onto him during a brawl. The injury was described as a “freak accident”. Kingston is expected to be out of action for five weeks, meaning he will miss WrestleMania 39.

We are just over three weeks away from Wrestlemania and the biggest development coming into this show was Jey Uso rejoining the Bloodline by taking out Sami Zayn. That seems to be the step that we have been waiting for on the way to whatever the Usos and Zayn are going to be doing at Wrestlemania so we might see something big tonight. Let’s get to it.
We open with a recap of Jey rejoining his brother Jimmy on Smackdown. Cody Rhodes made the save to tie it into the World Title situation.
The Usos arrive and are greeted by Paul Heyman. Jey asks where Roman Reigns is but Heyman hugs him. Jey says let Reigns know he’s here so Heyman goes to find him. When asked why he turned on Sami Zayn, Jey says he’ll make it clear tonight. Jimmy says Cody Rhodes needs to stay out of the Bloodline’s business.

You’re up next. A long title reign can be one of the most interesting things in all of wrestling, as it opens up the question of who might be the person to take them down. Having a huge title defense can be a lot of fun as you can feel the possibility of a title change. We almost had that again, but things have gotten a little more complicated after a controversial finish.

This week on SmackDown, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus won a fatal five way match for the #1 contendership to the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania. The two argued in the back and later in the show, a match between the two was set for next week with the winner getting the title shot at WrestleMania.

He’s in. There are all kinds of honors to be won in WWE, with special matches and championships being among the accomplishments available. However, at some point a wrestler is no longer going to be champion for one reason of another, leaving them as a former title holder. There are few accomplishments that last forever and now another WWE star has received such an honor.

Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee to the WWE Hall Of Fame Class of 2023. Mysterio debuted in WWE in 2002 and has wrestled multiple stints with the promotion. Over the course of his career, he is a three time World Champion, won the 2006 Royal Rumble and won several other titles. Mysterio, 48, is one of only a handful of active wrestlers to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. There is no word on who will induct Mysterio.

He’ll be there. We are about three weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the bigger matches have been set up. This includes several title matches, including one involving John Cena challenging Austin Theory for the United States Title. That is going to be a unique kind of match as Cena does not regularly appear for WWE, but now we know a bit more about his WrestleMania schedule.

According to PWInsider.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cena will be around for the build towards his title match. Cena’s movie schedule is allowing him to appear on Monday Night Raw, as he has finished filming “Ricky Stanicky” and is now working on “Grand Death Lotto”, which he can film while also appearing on WWE TV. WrestleMania 39 is set for April 1 and 2.

Double shot. We are just over three weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start getting ready for the most important card of the year. WWE has started putting together a bunch of the matches on the show with several already having been announced. There are still a lot to go though, and now we might be seeing some wrestlers in multiple matches.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan for WrestleMania 39 calls for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. However, the current champions, Lita and Becky Lynch, are already set for a six woman tag where they will team with Trish Stratus against Damage CTRL. However, the expectation is that the champions will work twice. Rousey is currently dealing with an injury, but the plan for this week called for her to still work the show.
