VIDEO: R-Truth And Brock Lesnar’s Excellent Adventure

He made it work. There are very few wrestlers who have been able to defy the laws of time like R-Truth. He started in the WWF all the way back in 1999 and came back after a lengthy hiatus, only to reach some incredible heights all over again. He has since moved on to become one of the more popular comedy wrestlers in WWE and those comedy skills were on display in a lucrative way earlier this year.
R-Truth has gone from a serious wrestler to someone who is not always exactly on top of everything and is often confused. This has been a big part of his dominance of the 24/7 Title but he has also had some higher goals in mind. One such goal was winning the Royal Rumble, but Brock Lesnar entering the match had R-Truth a bit scared. The moment also had Lesnar in stitches of laughter, and that was worth something to someone.
In a new interview with TalkSport, R-Truth spoke about his in-ring segment with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar from January of this year. R-Truth says there was a bet betw..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – September 9, 2020

Ring of Honor
Date: September 9, 2020
Back when the Best Of shows began, I jokingly suggested that we would be getting the Best Of The Bouncers one day if this went on long enough and now that is exactly what we are getting. The team is a fun goofy act, but I’m not sure if we need to see a full show about them. Let’s get to it.
Bouncers video.
The Bouncers join us via Zoom with both guys being rather pleased with being on the big screen for once. They’re excited that Ring of Honor is going to be back but for now, they’re happy with drinking beer and watching their best fights. They’ll start off with a big match for some titles. From ROH TV, October 3, 2018.
Six Man Tag Team Titles: Cody/Young Bucks vs. Silas Young/Bouncers Cody, with Brandi and Bernard, and the Bucks are defending. Matt tries his luck with the massive Milonas to start and gets knocked into the corner without much effort. Bruiser comes in to overpower Nick so everything breaks down with the champs triple dropkicking..

205 Live Results – September 11, 2020

I’ve been liking this three match structure as of late, which makes me think that it isn’t going to last much longer. The show is still just half an hour long so it’s not like I can get too annoyed about it in the first place. We even had a bit of a cliffhanger last week when Legado del Fantasma interfered in the main event. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Ashante Adonis vs. Brian Kendrick
That would be Tehuti Miles. Kendrick works on a wristlock to start but misses a charge into the corner, allowing Adonis to hit a dropkick for two. A boot to the face gives Kendrick the same and we hit a seated neck crank. Back up and Miles misses a crossbody, meaning it’s right back to the same crank. This time Miles fights up and drives him into the corner and blasts Kendrick with a clothesline.
The comeback is on with a series of strikes and a spinebuster gives Miles two. There’s ..

Otis May Have Trouble Cashing In Money In The Bank

That’s some fine print. Money In The Bank is one of the longer running concept in WWE, having now lasted more than fifteen years with several more wrestlers winning the briefcase over the years. The idea is pretty simple: win the ladder match by pulling down the briefcase and you get to challenge for the World Title at any time. That is the kind of thing that can make WWE turn rather hard in a hurry, but one wrestler’s contract is not what he thought.
Back in May, Otis won the Money in the Bank contract, becoming one of the more surprising winners in the match’s history. Otis has gone on to hold the briefcase for the four months in between, with no indication of when he will be cashing it in. The contract is good for one year after Otis won it in the first place, or at least that is the idea in theory. The actual wording varies a bit.
This week on SmackDown, Otis held up the contract in front of the camera, which allowed for a look at what it actually said. The text of the contract s..

WWE Trade: SmackDown Star Heading To Monday Night Raw

Welcome to your new home. There are a lot of wrestlers under the WWE banner and that means there are a lot of ways to present several of them. That can mean different things for different people involved, but with the WWE roster split into two different brands, there are two distinct places for both groups to go. One name is going to be heading to a different show.
Back at Summerslam, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville faced off in a No DQ Loser Leaves WWE match. This was a last second change from a Hair vs. Hair match, seemingly due to Deville’s real life issues with a stalker, which nearly ended far worse. Rose defeated Deville to get her out of the company, but now things have changed for her again in a pretty big way.
During Saturday’s edition of Talking Smack, the Miz revealed that Rose has been traded to Monday Night Raw. WWE.com made an official announcement about the move later in the day. The move is being presented as Miz continuing his issues with Otis, who is being split up fro..

WWE RUMOR: Where Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend Is Heading

That’s where we’re going. Two weeks ago, Roman Reigns joined forces with Paul Heyman to become WWE’s new big bad. That is the kind of pairing that you can almost never imagine really happening but here it was right in front of us. Two days later Reigns became the new Universal Champion and it seems like it could be a long time before he loses the title. Now we might have a few more details about how that is going to happen.
Reigns won the title by taking it away from the Fiend, who had only held it for a week. The loss ended Fiend’s second reign with the title, which was quite the surprise after how long it had been since he held it in the first place. Fiend seems to be someone WWE is heavily invested in though and the Reigns vs. Fiend feud has seemed to be on the books for a long time now. It’s not over with yet by a long shot.
According to Tom Colohue on the Dropkick DiSKussion podcast, WWE would like to wait on the Fiend vs. Reigns match for the Universal Title, though it is not c..

LOOK: Ronda Rousey Back In The Wrestling Ring

Blast from the past. There are some people who show up in wrestling and take the place by storm. You don’t see it very often but you know it when you see it. That’s what you saw back in 2018 when Ronda Rousey showed up and tore the house down at WrestleMania 34. A year later she was headlining the event in one of the most surprising milestones in wrestling history. Then a day later she was gone, but maybe not forever.
Rousey has not appeared in WWE since WrestleMania 35 but she has teased a return a few times since. I don’t think it is any secret that WWE would love to have her back full time, part time or just for a one off appearance, but it is not going to be the case if Rousey does not want to come back. Rousey has not done much since she left WWE, though she did just get back in the ring.
Earlier this week, Roddy Piper’s daughter Teal Piper posted some photos to Instagram showing that she is training to return to the ring after surgery to repair a torn ACL. Rousey appears in the..

Special Edition Of Monday Night Raw Featuring Packed Card

It’s an idea. There is no secret to the fact that Monday Night Raw is not doing so well with their television ratings and/or audience at the moment. The company has been rocked by the Coronavirus pandemic and need to do something to shake off their problems. It isn’t going to be made any better with Monday Night Football starting up again, but WWE already has a backup plan in mind.
If there is one thing that WWE knows how to do, it is stack up a card. It helps a lot when you have a roster with so much talent and so many stories taking place at the same time. With so many resources available to them, WWE can put together a huge card in a hurry and it can give them some muscle of their own to go up against a big ratings draw. That is what they are doing this coming Monday.
During this week’s SmackDown, an advertisement ran for In Your Face Raw, which will air next week. The card will feature a variety of matches, including the previously announced Champions vs. Champions match with Sma..

WWE’s Third Party Talent Restrictions To Be Case By Case

Thanks for the clarification? There have been a lot of changes taking place in WWE as of late and one of the biggest has taken place behind the scenes. Last week, WWE issued an order to its wrestlers, banning them from using most third party platforms, likely including Cameo and Twitch. Things have been clarified a bit since then, but it turns out that it is even more confusing than it might have seemed.
One of the biggest issues in the situation was over the ownership of the wrestlers’ real names and likenesses. While the wrestlers were the ones performing under the names and the ones that the fans would be more likely to recognize, WWE owns the character names and may have claimed that they owned the real names as well. That did not set well with some wrestlers, and things may be about to get even worse.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s policy is not a new one, but rather the company reinforcing their regular contracts. The wrestlers are allowed to make money o..

VIDEO: New Paul Heyman Inspired Character Debuts In The Firefly Fun House

Nice to meet you. The Firefly Fun House is one of the more unique ideas that WWE has presented in a very long time. A mixture of a children’s television show and the inner workings of Bray Wyatt’s twisted mind, the series has jumped between a supernatural world, a puppet show, and something going on somewhere at the arena. That is quite the mixture, and now we have a new character on the show.
The Firefly Fun House is populated not just by Wyatt, but also a series of puppets, many of whom are references to parts of Wyatt’s past or something that is designed to display an aspect of his personality. These characters often allow for some comedy, but at the same time can be used to advance various storylines involving Wyatt. That was turned up in a big way this week.
This was a little different. Check out what we have to look forward to now:

During this week’s SmackDown, a new character was introduced to the cast, with Wobbly Walrus being added. The character was introduced by Evil Vin..

REVIEW: Superbrawl 2000: When It Isn’t Needed Anymore

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
SuperBrawl 2000
Date: February 20, 2000
Location: Cow Palace, San Francisco, California
Attendance: 8,569
Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mark Madden, Mike Tenay
Well the TV shows have been some of the least interesting things I’ve ever had to sit through, so maybe the pay per view will be the complete opposite and be entertaining. I mean, stranger things have happened right? The main events tonight are Sid Vicious defending the World Title against Jeff Jarrett and Scott Hall in a three way, plus Hogan vs. Luger and Fu..

WWE Department “In Shambles” After Several More Cuts

There they go again. Back in April, WWE released dozens of wrestlers from the company in an effort to cut down costs during the Coronavirus pandemic. The company let several wrestlers go as there was little reason to have them around given how there were no live events for them to wrestle on. There are more than just wrestlers working at a live event though and that’s where we are today.
Live events may not be the biggest money makers for WWE, but they offer a big service aside from just financial. The shows are a testing ground for upcoming matches as the wrestlers can get in some practice before they move on to the big stage shows. They also allow for some wrestlers to get in the ring when they would not be doing so otherwise. That might not be the case for a long time, which was even more cemented this week.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, WWE cut another 12-15 members of the Live Events staff, leaving the department in shambles. This would suggest that WWE is not likely to bring b..
