WWE RUMOR: WWE Looking For Outdoor Venues After Amway Contract Expires

Let’s go outside. WWE has been trying to make some adjustments to get things back to normal during the Coronavirus pandemic but it has not been easy. There are only so many things that can be done to make the situation better and one of the biggest has involved the venue for the WWE television shows. After spending months in the Performance Center, it was time to move on to the Amway Center. But what happens after that?
One of the details of WWE’s deal with the Amway Center is that is it only going last until the end of October. While WWE will have a home for the next month and a half, they will have to figure out a place to go after that. Such a move would leave them open to a variety of questions, but there is a chance that they have something in mind to deal with the situation.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE is looking for outside venues to hold their television events once the Amway Center contract expires. The same venue would host both Monday Night Raw and S..

VIDEO: Sasha Banks Appears In New Mandalorian Trailer For Disney+

That’s a big role. Wrestling and acting have one of the more confusing relationships in the world. Wrestlers are seen as actors but they rarely get the chance to act outside of roles playing wrestlers, as that is all they are seen as being. That has not been as bad in recent years though, as some wrestlers are getting the chance to branch out. One is doing so in a major way.
Sasha Banks is one of the Four Horsewomen and has come a long way in her time on the main roster. After dominant the NXT Women’s Division, Banks moved up and has become a five time Raw Women’s Champion. It is easy to see why WWE would want to push her in a big way and she is going to get the chance in one of the bigger mainstream franchises in media history.
Banks is featured in the new trailer for the second season of the Mandalorian, a Star Wars series airing on Disney+. Banks can be seen as a hooded character whose name and plot details are unknown. It is not clear if this will cause any changes to her role on..

Mickie James Possibly Injured On Monday Night Raw

There’s your explanation. You never know when you might see someone get injured in wrestling. An injury can go down during any match with no warning and that makes them all the more dangerous. It can be a horrible way for a match to go and some of them can be a lot more devastating than others. That seemed to be the case during a pretty important match this week.
One of the biggest matches on this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Mickie James challenging Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title. The match was presented as perhaps James’ last chance to win the title as her in-ring career is winding down. The match was a focal point of the show and ended in a somewhat controversial fashion. There might be some bad news as to why.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Asuka defeated James when the referee rules that James could not continue while in the Asuka Lock. Mick Foley and Lance Storm have tweeted that he had heard James’ shoulder may have popped out during the match, which caused the referee to..

Bad News For Aleister Black And Andrade

Two down? Like so many other businesses, wrestling is a place where it isn’t about what you know but who you know. Or in this case, who likes you. If you have someone in your corner in wrestling, you can have a lot of doors opened in your career. This is certainly true in WWE, where a nod from Vince McMahon can do wonders for someone’s push. However, the opposite is also true as McMahon not being impressed can destroy you. That might be the case with two Monday Night Raw names.
Earlier this year, Paul Heyman was fired as Executive Director of Monday Night Raw. This shook things up on the show, as Heyman had been in charge for a long time and had established things the way he had wanted them. There were several Paul Heyman Guys/Women who were pushed because Heyman saw something in them. However, some of those names are not going to receive as much of a push now that Heyman is gone, including two prominent names.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon is not interested in pushi..

Will A New Four Horsemen Style Faction Form In AEW?

FTR has risen to the top of AEW with their World Tag Team Championship win at All Out on September 5. This was Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler’s first shot at the AEW titles, which were held by Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page.
FTR wasted no time in getting the belts, cementing themselves as the team to beat in AEW. But even though Harwood and Wheeler have accomplished their goal, this may not be the biggest news regarding their partnership. Rumors abound online that FTR will be part of a brand new Four Horsemen style faction in Tony Khan’s company. The only question is, will it happen?
Fans have been speculating on this story for several weeks online. From a distance, FTR’s inclusion in this possible faction seems like the perfect fit. After all, Dax and Cash consider themselves to be throwback pro wrestlers, in the style of Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, two of the original Four Horsemen.
Then there’s the fact that Tully is also their manager and they recently crossed paths with..

How Long Ivar Will Be Out And What Erik Will Do In The Meantime

That’s a worst case scenario. An injury can shake up a lot of things, including the careers of people associated with the injured wrestler. Someone going on the shelf can cause a bit of a domino effect, especially in WWE where wrestlers are often locked into one role instead of being put into the place where they are needed. That is the case again and it does not seem to be good news.
During an eight man tag on last week’s Monday Night Raw, Ivar injured his neck on a suicide dive and immediately threw up the X sign to say that something was wrong. Ivar was taken away on a stretcher and it was later revealed that he had suffered a neck injury. That did not sound good and Ivar was scheduled for surgery this week. Now we know what that will mean for two different people.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Ivar’s neck surgery will keep him out of the ring for a year or perhaps even longer. There is no word on the exact nature of Ivar’s injury or what will need to be fixed. While he i..

Three SmackDown Stars On Monday Night Raw, One Sticking Around

Triple take. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster and it can be rather difficult to get them all on television every single week. One of the best ways to do so has been the Brand Split, with wrestlers appearing on one show instead of both. Sometimes there are exceptions to the rule of course, which was the case again this week on Monday Night Raw in three cases.
One of the perks of the Brand Split has been how special it feels when you see the brands coming together again. This does not happen very often in WWE but it feels like an important moment when it does take place. That was the case this week on Monday Night Raw as two wrestlers were scheduled to come over. It turns out that they did not come alone.
This week on Monday Night Raw, three SmackDown superstars made appearances. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura lost a champions vs. champions match against the Raw Tag Team Champions the Street Profits in a scheduled match. Later in the show, Braun St..

WrestleMania 37 Weekend Facing Major Scheduling Conflict, Venue May Be Changed

The more things change. WrestleMania 36 took place about five months ago and it is a show that almost no one will forget. The biggest wrestling show of the year was forced to take place in front of no fans due to the Coronavirus pandemic, leaving the show feeling like it was taking place in a glorified warehouse. It was WrestleMania, but it certainly didn’t feel like one. Now things might not even be ready for next year either.
We are less than seven months away from WrestleMania 37 and it is long past time to start making preparations for the show. WWE needs to know what they are going to do as far as the card goes, but they also need to know what they are going to do as far as holding the show. The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things and now it might have changed some more as far as everything else going on over the big weekend.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, the Staples Center, which is the scheduled venue for SmackDown, Takeover and Monday Night Raw over WrestleMania weekend ..

WWE News: Retribution Has Their First Set Of Enemies

Meet the new team. Nearly two months ago, the group who would become known as Retribution debuted on Monday Night Raw and started causing a lot of problems for WWE. The team has changed a bit since then, now including their own logo and almost a theme song in the form of the lights going out throughout the arena. They have become a pretty big story on the show, but now someone has taken notice.
One of the better stories over the course of the year on Monday Night Raw has been the rise of the Hurt Business. Led by MVP, the team has gone from formation to success in just a few short months, including Bobby Lashley winning the United States Title and Cedric Alexander turning on his friends to join the team last week. They are a rather powerful group and now they have some more enemies.
This week on Monday Night Raw, the Hurt Business was interrupted by a Retribution interview. Later in the night, the Hurt Business offered to be the new security that dealt with Retribution, with WWE offi..

WWE Shakes Up Monday Night Raw Commentary Team Again

They did it again. Commentary is one of the most important parts of a wrestling show as the commentators can explain a lot of things to the fans. The group can tell the fans where they want things to go, what they should focus on, and how WWE wants them to think about the show. The right group is necessary to make everything work and WWE has been making some adjustments, including this week.
While the commentary team is led by the play by play person, a former wrestler can offer a lot of good things to a team. You need someone that the fans can recognize as being an expect, as it offers a different level of credibility. A former wrestler, especially a successful one, can enhance the entire team through their own history alone, which is what WWE was shooting for on television.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler replaced Samoa Joe on commentary with no explanation from WWE as to where Samoa Joe was or when he would return. MVP would later replace Ziggler when Ziggler went off..

REVIEW: Night Of Champions 2014: Don’t Let Him Do It Again

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Night of Champions 2014
Date: September 21, 2014
Location: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee
Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, Jerry Lawler
This is the textbook definition of a one match show and now the second or third biggest match isn’t happening. Yesterday Roman Reigns was sent to the hospital with a hernia, putting him out of action for several weeks if not months. The main event is of course Cena vs. Lesnar II (III if you count the match from two and a half years ago) with Lesnar defendi..
