What Caused The NXT Coronavirus Outbreak

Oh that won’t go over well. The Coronavirus has changed the way the wrestling world (and everything else) works in a major way. You can only do so many things like back in the normal days whether you are a fan or a wrestler, which has certainly been the case in WWE. NXT has suffered from multiple Coronavirus outbreaks and we know what caused the most recent.
NXT is a unique place in wrestling as it is a mixture of the WWE’s official developmental territory as well as being its own wrestling show. Not many promotions have had that double responsibility, but now things have become more complicated thanks to the various Coronavirus outbreaks. NXT is currently going through another and there may be a place to start.
According to PWInsider.com, the recent NXT Coronavirus outbreak was believed to have been started at a party thrown by an NXT wrestler. The party was attended by someone who was asymptomatic and the virus spread as a result. There are few further details on the situation, inc..

Furloughed WWE Employee Back At Work At SmackDown

Welcome back. There have been all kinds of stories around the wrestling world this year and very few of them have been positive. WWE has been through a lot of trouble of their own and some of it has been brought on themselves. One of the biggest stories that made WWE look a little less flattering was the company releasing dozens of talents within a few days. They also released some backstage workers, but at least one of them is now back.
A backstage producer is one of the most important parts of any wrestling shows. They are in charge of making a match play out as planned by talking to the wrestlers and figuring out what they need to do. A good producer can make things a lot better and someone who has figured out the right kind of style for various wrestlers is incredibly valuable. Now one of the recently released WWE producers is back at work.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE backstage producer Billy Kidman returned to work for WWE at this week’s SmackDown taping. There is no word on..

REVIEW: Clash Of The Champion #22: Clash Gets All Thundercagey

Clash of the Champions XXII
Date: January 13, 1993
Location: The Mecca, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Attendance: 4,000
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jesse Ventura
The main event tonight sees Sting/Ron Simmons/Dustin Rhodes/Van Hammer vs. Vader/Barbarian/Barry Windham/Paul Orndorff (substitute for an injured Rick Rude) inside the Thunder Cage. We’re nearing the end of an era here in WCW as Bill Watts’ job is already on the brink and would be ended soon thereafter. In other words, most of the matches tonight don’t mean much, especially with a few changes coming soon. Let’s get to it.
Bill Watts welcomes us to the show and talks about his history wrestling in Milwaukee. Also Van Hammer is injured and out of the main event tonight. There will be a replacement in his arm wrestling match later. No mention of the main event. Also, Erik Watts has been arrested (kayfabe) and is out of his match tonight.
It’s another new set with the entrance being under a metal frame like last time, but no long curtain be..

NXT’s Tegan Nox May Have Torn Her ACL

Please not again. There are a lot of wrestlers who have all the potential in the world but for some reason they can’t stay healthy. It can be one of the most frustrating things in the world for a wrestler and to a lesser extent the fans, but it happens to a lot of wrestlers in any generation. Unfortunately, it may have happened again and that’s a horrible thing to see.
It’s easy to see why WWE would want to push Tegan Nox to the moon. She is young, talented, has an international background and comes off like a star every time she is in on camera. Nox has gotten a heck of a push in NXT and seemed ready to have a major showdown with Candice LeRae. However, Nox also has a horrible history of knee injuries and the list might be growing.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Nox has possibly suffered another knee injury, which may be another torn ACL. Nox was scheduled to take part in a battle royal on this week’s NXT to crown a new #1 contender. However, a video aired showing L..

Good News On Missing WWE Tag Team’s Future

That’s a little better. Tag teams have been a part of wrestling for a long time now and that will be the case for the foreseeable future. However, some promotions present them in a better way than others and WWE does not have the best history with them. The company rather enjoys splitting teams up, and that seems to be the case again, albeit for a rather different reason.
Earlier this year, the Forgotten Sons were called up to SmackDown and immediately made an impact. The team got involved with the New Day soon after they debuted and seemed ready to be moved on to something bigger in a hurry. However, that did not wind up happening though as Jaxson Ryker made some controversial statements, resulting in the team being pulled from television. The other members, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake, have been away as well, but that might be changing soon.
According to Fightful.com, WWE has added Cutler and Blake back to their internal roster while Ryker has been left off. This would mean that ..

Vince McMahon’s Secret Rule Caused Monday Night Raw Ending

Ok then. The biggest story of the week in WWE was Retribution coming up to the next level on Monday Night Raw. The team not only unmasked, but were also announced as having signed contracts with WWE. This meant that they were suddenly allowed to wrestle on the show, which took place in Monday’s main event. However, it ended in a weird way and now we know why.
This week’s Monday Night Raw main event featured Retribution vs. the Hurt Business in a six man tag. The match ended with Retribution being disqualified when T-Bar attacked Bobby Lashley from the apron. As soon as the match was over, the reset of the masked members of Retribution came in and attacked the Hurt Business to end the show. It was a strange ending to the match and there was a reason for that.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match was ended due to an unwritten rule of Vince McMahon’s. The rule states that a tag match automatically ends in a disqualification if an illegal wrestler attacks a legal wre..

Coronavirus Postpones Another Important NXT UK Event

The hits keep on coming. The Coronavirus has changed the way the wrestling world has worked and that is not just in the United States. Other promotions around the world have been messed up as well, including WWE’s NXT UK. The promotion has only started running TV shows again in recent weeks and now they are already taking another hit in a much bigger way.
Much like their American counterpart, NXT UK has been built up around Takeover specials. The shows feature the major matches the promotion has to offer, including various titles being on the line. That is the kind of thing that can make things feel all the more special and NXT UK has done rather well with them so far. However, that might not be the case for a good while.
According to PWInsider.com, the upcoming Takeover: Dublin has been postponed from October 25 until June 20, 2021. This is the second postponement of the show, which was originally scheduled for April 26, 2020 but had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus. There is ..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – September 25, 2020

Smackdown
Date: September 25, 2020
Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole
It’s the go home show for Clash Of Champions though the Smackdown side of things might not interest you the most. The blue main event for Sunday’s show will feature Roman Reigns defending against Jey Uso, which kind of slows down the interest that the show is going to have. Maybe the last show before Sunday can help things out. Let’s get to it.
In Memory of Road Warrior Animal.
Here are AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy for a Championship Ascension ceremony to set up the ladder match. Corey Graves, the emcee, explains the match and says there is no champion’s advantage. AJ says Jeff must think the title feels heavy because it’s the last time he’ll be holding it. As for Sami, why are you here? He took six months off to grow a neck beard and still thinks he’s champion.
Sami accuses AJ of being stupid for winning a tournament and calls Jeff’s title a shampionship. Jef..

NXT UK Results – September 24, 2020

NXT UK
Date: September 24, 2020
Location: BT Studios, London, England
Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness
We’re back to the second week of the restart and it’s time to fight over a title. In this case that would be the NXT UK Women’s Title as Kay Lee Ray defends against Piper Niven in a match several months in the making. Other than that, we get the brackets for the Heritage Cup. Let’s get to it.
Opening recap/preview.
Opening sequence.
Earlier today, the Heritage Cup participants almost came to blows in the back.
Andy runs down the card.
Walter vs. Saxon Huxley Non-title. Huxley charges at him but has to fight out of an early sleeper. Some shots in the corner just annoy Walter so he sends Huxley outside early on. Huxley comes back in with right hands and a big boot, plus a powerslam. The top rope clothesline gives Huxley two as commentary is stunned at the offense. They head outside with Huxley hitting a Thesz press but making sure to break up the count.
Walter gets s..

Cody vs. Brodie Lee: Old School Feuding Done Right In AEW

Cody returned to AEW on the September 23 edition of Dynamite. The company founder and former TNT champion had been out of the picture since August 13, when he was destroyed by Mr. Brodie Lee.
In one night, Cody lost his championship and his dignity. He was squashed and left for dead, causing many fans to wonder what was next for The American Nightmare. Cody’s return was imminent and his mission is now clear. Cody wants to destroy The Dark Order.
That mission was highly achievable just one year ago. The Dark Order was Evil Uno and Stu Grayson, two guys who were less than relevant. They were at the forefront of a faction that was a punchline at best and no matter how often AEW spotlighted them, most fans weren’t buying it.
But this is not the same Dark Order. The organization has increased from two members to nine. Their influence is far-reaching and is felt throughout the entire company. Uno and Grayson have never looked better as a team and their recruitment efforts regarding the A..

Two AEW Names Missing Time Due To Coronavirus

It’s hitting everywhere. The Coronavirus has spread throughout the world and there is no indication that it will be slowing down in the upcoming months. That is the kind of thing that can change the way the wrestling industry works at the drop of a hat and that is what has happened recently. There have been outbreaks in both major companies and it seems that two more names are going to be gone for a bit.
One of the best things that you can see on a wrestling show is someone making their debut with a highly successful performance. Someone can catch your eye in a hurry and it seems that they sky is the limit from the second they arrive. That was the case with two recently debuting AEW names, one of which has been signed to the company. However, it might be awhile before you get to see them again.
Both Ben Carter and Serena Deeb will be missing time due to the Coronavirus. Carter sent out a tweet saying that he had been diagnosed with the virus. Deeb has announced, via the NWA, that she..

Mystery Retribution Member Reveals Identity

There it is. One of the biggest WWE stories of the week has been the reveal of Retribution. The team had been terrorizing Monday Night Raw for weeks now but were suddenly announced as being official parts of the show. That did not exactly go well and then it got even worse when the team members were named. One of them was not the easiest to identify but he has since rectified that problem.
One of the biggest criticisms of the Retribution reveal was the team’s masks. The masks did not exactly hide the team’s identities and that made it a little strange to have the announcers seemingly not know who the wrestlers were. All of them have been part of NXT, which is not only part of WWE but also advertised on Monday Night Raw, but they are suddenly in half masks and wrestling under different names. The only member with a full mask has made his own identity known.
NXT wrestler Shane Throne has changed his Twitter handle to ShaneSLAPJACKThorne, with the “Shane” and “Thorne” crossed out. Thorn..
