NXT Live Coverage And Results – December 23, 2020

NXT
Date: December 23, 2020
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Winter Park, Florida
Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph
It’s the Christmas show as we have A Very Gargano Christmas. That’s special enough, but this show is also not up against Dynamite due to an NBA game so it should be interesting to see what they have on their own. We do have a title match tonight as the Tag Team Titles are on the line in a street fight. Let’s get to it.
Tag Team Titles: Killian Dain/Drake Maverick vs. Oney Lorcan/Danny Burch Lorcan and Burch are defending in a street fight but Dain and Maverick jump them from behind. The champs are in some early trouble but Maverick gets taken down so Dain can be double teamed. We settle down to Dain in trouble in the corner but managing to backdrop Burch onto a pair of chairs.
Maverick comes in without a tag to trip Lorcan down and Dain slams him onto Lorcan for a bonus. Dain hits a running boot in the corner to Lorcan and takes him to the floor, ..

Ronda Rousey Has A Broken Back

That might hold her back. Injuries are a terrible thing in wrestling, or in any athletic field for that matter. What seems like something that should only keep you out for a short time can keep you out of action for an indefinite stretch, as you never can tell how bad something is going to be. That is the case with a certain out of commission wrestler, who mighe be getting to come back if things are cleared up.
There are very few wrestlers who have hit the ground running like Ronda Rousey. After dominating the UFC, Rousey switched over to professional wrestling and continued her star run, going all the way to the main event of WrestleMania 35. Rousey was a star like no other and fans have been waiting for her return. It turns out that there is a big problem that has to be cleared up first.
In a new interview with Digital Spy, Rousey revealed that a vertebrae in her back is broken in half, making traveling for wrestling especially hard. Rousey called traveling with the injury the abso..

SmackDown Star Receiving Backstage Praise

You can see the results in Morgan. Wrestling is a complicated world as the wrestlers are going out there on live television and having to do their thing every single week. It is the same thing as a mainstream sport, but wrestling has various other details included to make it even harder. That makes any improvement all the more impressive, and now a current WWE star is being praised for her efforts.
Women’s wrestling has come a long way in WWE over the last five plus years thanks to the rise of the Four Horsewomen. The four of them have done some great things for WWE and women’s wrestling as a whole, but they can’t do everything themselves. Someone is going to have to move up to start taking some of the pressure off of them and a certain wrestler has been doing just that.
According to Fightful Select’s Brass Ring series, Liv Morgan has received praise for her recent efforts in WWE. Morgan is described as a standout talent among the roster and someone who works harder than almost anyon..

VIDEO: Daniel Bryan Says He Is Moving Away From WWE Full Time

He isn’t going to be around forever. There are certain wrestlers who are capable of capturing your imagination and almost never let it go. They excel at almost everything they do and offer one memorable performance after another. You don’t get to see this very often but when you see them, you know what you have. One such wrestler might not be around as often in the future.
Since his debut in WWE, it was clear that Daniel Bryan had some special tl him. It took some time for him to get going, but once he hit his stride, there was no stopping him, all the way to the top of the company at WrestleMania 30. Bryan has something to him that you can’t duplicate and WWE has capitalized on it rather well, but they might not be able to much longer.
It’s a pretty good reason. Check out what Bryan had to say about his future:

MVP Wins His Own World Championship

That’s a big win. There have been some cool moments in 2020 with some of them leading to bigger things down the line. One of the moments that might have flown under the radar at the time was the return of MVP, who came back to WWE at the Royal Rumble and has stuck around ever since. He has been made into a manager, but that does not mean he is completely done competing.
The Hurt Business has become one of the hottest things on Monday Night Raw in recent months and they have done it in style. The team has a great look and has dominated almost everyone they have come across so far. They have also won various titles, including the Raw Tag Team and United States Title, but that left MVP without some gold. However, that is no longer the case.
MVP sent out a tweet with a photo of the Hurt Business posing with their titles, while MVP was holding a gold medal. In the tweet, MVP revealed that he had won the gold medal in a recent IBJJF Masters Tournament Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition this p..

Major League Wrestling Fusion Results – December 16, 2020

Fusion #114
Date: December 16, 2020
Location: Gilt Nightclub, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Jared St. Laurent, Rich Bocchini
We’re back to the club and that means the Opera Cup is continuing. I’m not sure what we’re going to get here other than the second semifinal, but Alex Hammerstone is back after a few weeks off due to Contra. That seems to be your next big showdown and it needs more building, so let’s get to it.
Richard Holliday and Alex Hammerstone arrive and aren’t happy with being interviewed as soon as they get to the show. Some masked goons jump them but don’t get very far. Hammerstone is about to ram one of them into the car but Holliday stops Hammerstone because the car is in Holliday’s name. Hammerstone elbows him in the face instead.
Opening sequence.
LA Park Jr. vs. Bu Ku Dao Dao is TJP’s protege so TJP, along with LA Park, is here. Park points to the ropes to distract Dao (barely five feet tall) and kicks him to the rope, allowing Park Sr. to get in some cheap shot..

205 Live Results – December 11, 2020

205 Live
Date: December 11, 2020
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Winter Park, Florida
Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph
The rise of the new guys continues around here and that’s a good thing. Curt Stallion is leading the pack and I could go with the title match against Santos Escobar. It’s nice that they’re building things up a bit as while Stallion is unlikely to win the title, he is gaining a lot with the victories that are setting it up. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Tony Nese/Ariya Daivari vs. Bollywood Boyz Samir fights off the early double teaming attempt and it’s off to Sunil for two off a clothesline. A double suplex gets two more but the way too early Bollywood Blast attempt misses. Nese comes back in with a chinlock and then a torture rack, which looks quite impressive on someone who can be bent around like Samir.
That’s broken up and Nese dropkicks Daivari by mistake, allowing the hot tag to Sunil. Everything breaks down and the superkicks abound, meani..

Main Event Results – December 10, 2020

Main Event
Date: December 10, 2020
Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe
It’s the last show in the Amway Center before everything moves over to Tropicana Field. Somehow Main Event has actually shaken things up a bit in recent weeks and I could go for more of that. This is the kind of thing that the show has needed for….well several years now and hopefully that is the case again. Let’s get to it.
In Memory of Pat Patterson.
Opening sequence.
Here is Elias to open things up….and Jaxson Ryker of all people is with him. Elias talks about being electrocuted on Raw last week but he can still play his guitar like this. The electricity gave him a vision though, just like Ryker. The vision taught him that the universal truth is WWE stands for WALK WITH ELIAS. Cue R-Truth with the usual band of idiots, with Ryker taking out Akira Tozawa. Truth gets on the commentary table and says that he likes his own song better. Rapping ensues.
We recap Roman Reig..

Major League Wrestling Fusion Results – December 9, 2020

Fusion #113
Date: December 9, 2020
Location: Gilt Nightclub, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Jared St. Laurent, Rich Bocchini
Last week’s show was the best since the Restart and we’re in for some good stuff if they can keep that up. What matters here is capitalizing on the momentum and the big piece is in place as the Von Erichs defend the Tag Team Titles against Contra. That could go either way so let’s get to it.
Contra says MLW hasn’t taken control of anything and promises to bring the heroes to their knees. Look at what they have done to Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Alex Hammerstone. Tonight, they come for the Tag Team Titles.
Opening sequence.
Zenshi vs. Calvin Tankman Zenshi’s legsweep has no effect to start and a dropkick to the back just annoys Tankman. A hurricanrana sends him into the corner and a kick to the head staggers the monster a bit. That’s about it for the offense though as Tankman plants him with a spinebuster and chops away in the corner. Tankman sends him flying but..

WATCH: WWE Says Goodbye To 2020 Like We All Want To

I think we all need it. There is a nearly universal consensus that 2020 has been a terrible year. It has even become a running joke that 2020 cannot come to an end soon enough. We are now less than a year away and while there is no guarantee that things could get better next year, it is almost impossible to imagine them being that much worse. WWE is looking forward to the change as well and have gotten in on the idea.
This has been a rather rough year for WWE as well, with the biggest problem involving the Coronavirus pandemic. The company has had to change all kinds of plans due to everything going on, including sticking around Florida for about nine months. That is the kind of thing that you cannot expect and it is understandable that frustration has set in. Now WWE is venting some frustration
This sounds very nice. Check out WWE’s farewell to 2020:

WWE has released a video showing various wrestlers beating up the year 2020, including Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Ricochet, Rey Mys..

Backstage Uncertainty Over Keith Lee’s Future

He might be in trouble. You never know how well someone is going to do when they get the call to go from NXT up to WWE. Some people are far more successful than others and that can create a lot of headaches for fans in a hurry. Several of the callups are wrestlers who have been both popular and successful in NXT but something just does not click once they make the main roster. That seems to be the case with someone else.
Survivor Series 2019 was a packed show, but arguably no one stole the night more than Keith Lee. After eliminating Seth Rollins, Lee was the last man eliminated from the men’s elimination match. The following year, Lee would go on to become both the NXT North American and NXT Champion before moving up to the main roster in August. Things have not gone so well for him since and that might be the case for the time being.
According to Fightful Select, it is not clear what Lee will be doing in the future on Monday Night Raw. While Lee has had some limited success, his on..
