Update On Sasha Banks’ Return To WWE TV

Welcome back? WWE is in a big transitional period at the moment, as the company is getting ready to head back onto the road. After over a year of being stuck in Florida, WWE is getting ready to get back to normal touring starting later this month. That is a big jump back into normal and now WWE is going to be doing some special training to get ready. This includes a certain name.
According to Fightful Select, Sasha Banks is present at the Performance Center and will be training for a return to touring as well. Banks has not been seen on WWE television since the SmackDown after WrestleMania 37, where she would not speak about losing her SmackDown Women’s Title to Bianca Belair. There is no word on when Banks will be back on WWE television.
It would be nice to have Banks back. Check out what WWE could be getting again soon:

An NXT Star May Have Just Spoiled His Future Storyline

That would be one of them. There are all kinds of wrestlers in NXT these days and some of them have not gotten a ton of television time. You might hear of them every now and then but it can be rare for them to actually make an appearance. NXT has a way around that with the Breakout Tournament, though no names have been announced. Someone might have jumped the gun though.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, NXT’s Parker Boudreaux sent out a tweet saying “Breakout” following the announcement of the tournament, only to have delete the tweet soon after. While not confirmed, this could mean that Boudreaux will be one of the entrance in the tournament. Boudreaux has yet to debut on NXT television. The Breakout Tournament is scheduled to begin on July 13, though no brackets or wrestlers have been announcedway up to the main roster, it makes a lot of sense to restock the shelves. I’m curious to see how this is going to go and that could be in.
The tournament has a lot of potential. Check out some..

KB’s Review: 7 The NXT Way

WWE is starting to come out of the Coronavirus pandemic and that makes for some interesting situations. Above all else, fans are coming back to the events in less than a month, but they are going to need something to watch. I don’t think I’m breaking any new ground when I say that most of what WWE is doing at the moment wouldn’t work, but what else is there? That is where the cavalry comes into play, and they’re wearing some fetching black and gold.
One of the bigger stories to fly under the radar as of late is a group of NXT wrestlers likely being called up to the main roster. This can make for some of the most interesting moments of the year and now it seems that it is time for the new generation to rise up. I have no idea how that is going to go, but this week we are going to look at some of the names who might be on their way to the main roster.
Note that most of these are names that could work and most of them are not rumored at this time. Also, I’m intentionally leaving off som..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – June 30, 2021

Dynamite
Date: June 30, 2021
Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida
Commentators: Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross
We’re finally back to the normal schedule and that is a very good thing. It’s the final night in Daily’s Place as the show is heading back on the road starting next week. The big match this week is Sammy Guevara vs. MJF, which should make for a heck of a grudge match. Throw in the Young Bucks vs. Penta El Zero Miedo/Eddie Kingston and we should be good to go. Let’s get to it.
Chris Jericho is here for commentary.
Young Bucks vs. Penta El Zero Miedo/Eddie Kingston Non-title but if Penta/Kingston win, they get a title shot later. The Bucks debut their latest horrible look with some rather thin facial hair. Matt gets taken down for an early rollup to start and Kingston holds the legs for Penta’s top rope double stomp. It’s off to Nick to take Penta down though and the double fist drop sets up some pelvic thrusting. Penta gets sent outside where he..

WWE Confirms Two Top Stars Have Gotten Married

That’s a special day. Wrestlers have some of the most complicated personal lives you will find. When a promotion is on tour full time, a wrestler is not going to be home that often and it can be rather difficult to figure out how to balance work and anything behind the scenes. It can help to have wrestlers together, and that is what we saw this week in a pretty cool way.
WWE has confirmed that Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch were married on Tuesday. This comes after Rollins sent out an Instagram Story showing Lynch and saying that it “seems like a fine day to (finally) get married.” The couple had been engaged since August 2019 but the wedding was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There are no further details on the wedding so far.
Lynch has been absent from WWE television since May 2020 due to maternity leave. She gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Roux, in December and has been training for a return to the ring. There is no word on when she will be returning to WWE televisi..

VIDEO: Mercedes Martinez Hospitalized After Scary NXT Spot

It could have been worse. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to get hurt and some of them can come out of nowhere. You never know when you are going to see someone get injured and unfortunately it can happen right in front of your eyes. What matters most is the wrestler’s health, and that was the question again due to an injury that took place this week.
Mercedes Martinez was injured during this week’s edition of NXT. Martinez was in a mixed tag team match with Jake Atlas against Xia Li and Boa of Tian Sha when Li kicked her in the head. The kick caused Martinez to fall to the mat where Li covered her, though Martinez was unable to keep her shoulders on the mat. The referee stopped the match seconds later and awarded it to Tian Sha, despite Martinez pulling herself by the ropes. According to Sean Ross Sapp, Martinez was sent to the hospital for further evaluation. There is no word on her condition or when she could be able to return to the ring.
Mercedes Martinez was checked ..

Keep Them Going: Another Name Gone From WWE

This is a bit different. There have been a lot of departures from WWE this year and most of them have been for the same reason. WWE has cut all kinds of wrestlers and backstage workers over the course of the year, with no reason to believe that they are done just yet. It can be rather sad to see so many people losing their jobs, but one of the recent departures might not have been the same.
According to Fightful Select, Sonjay Dutt has left his position as a backstage producer for WWE. There is no word on why he has departed the company, though PWInsider.com is reporting that Dutt gave his notice and left the company rather than being fired or released. A former Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion, Dutt began working backstage for WWE in 2019 but was furloughed during the Coronavirus pandemic, coming back in December 2020. There is no word on what Dutt has planned going forward. He has not wrestled a match since December 2017.
Dutt had quite the in-ring career. Check out some of his..

NXT Is Starting A New Tournament Next Month

Do it again. Tournaments are an easy concept in wrestling. You take a bunch of people, give them a prize to fight over and the last one standing wins. It can be anything from individual wrestlers to regular teams to makeshift pairings or something else fighting for money, glory, a title or even a title shot. WWE certainly loves its tournament and now they are bringing one back.
The second Breakout Tournament was announced during this week’s edition of NXT, with the first round beginning on June 13. The tournament will see eight wrestlers competing in a single elimination competition, with the winner receiving a title shot of their choice. There were no wrestlers named or brackets revealed, but the tournament will be made of young wrestlers who have not had a big chance yet. The tournament was first held in 2019 with Jordan Myles winning and ultimately challenging NXT Champion Adam Cole in a losing effort.
The first edition worked pretty well. Check out the announcement and how it has..

Title Change Takes Place On NXT In Unannounced Match

History has been made! There are all kinds of titles on the WWE roster and that means it can be hard to keep track of all of them. The company has to make sure that the belts stay as valuable as possible, with the best method being to have people fight over them. Nothing makes a championship look more valuable than someone wanting to win it, which is what took place this week.
This week on NXT, Isaiah Scott defeated Bronson Reed to win the North American Title. Scott pinned Reed with a 450 splash to the back after interference from his Hit Row teammates. The win is Scott’s first title in NXT and ends Reed’s reign at 42 days. The title change comes as Reed is being scouted to be called up to the main roster, having wrestled a match last week on Main Event.
That’s some history. Check out how the match went down, plus what you can expect from the new champ:

WWE Planning Some Very Odd Name Changes

That’s the best they have? Wrestling names are some of the most important parts of a wrestler’s full package, as the wrong name can ruin a career in a hurry. I don’t think Hulk Hogan would have done as well if he had been named Bob Smith or Undertaker would be quite the legend if he was Smiley Montgomery. WWE has some rather interesting names, and now we might be seeing some more of them.
According to HeelByNature.com, WWE has applied for trademarks for “Nikki ASH” and “Happy Corbin”. Nikki Cross debuted the ASH nickname on this week’s Monday Night Raw, announcing that it stood for “Almost A Superhero”. There is no word on how the Corbin name will be used, though King Corbin’s name was changed back to Baron Corbin after he lost his King’s Crown to Shinsuke Nakamura.
What could be. Check out the people likely to use these new names in better times:

Released WWE Stars Facing Immigration Issues

They might be in trouble. The biggest WWE story of the year has been their massive releases, with dozens of wrestlers being let go from the company. Some of these are higher profile names than others, but there are some people in there who are going to be able to get something going outside of WWE. That would seem to be easy for two of them, but they are having some issues making it work.
Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay, formerly known as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay as the IIconics, appeared on a recent edition of Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast. During the interview, the two mentioned that they do not have Green Cards, leaving them unable to work at the moment. Their other option is to have someone sponsor them on a visa, though that has not been the case. They also mentioned that they are trying to keep their names out there, even though they are unable to work at the moment.
The team signed with WWE in 2015 and wrestled both together and on their own until 2018. They were calle..

NXT Live Coverage And Results – June 29, 2021

NXT
Date: June 29, 2021
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett
It’s the go home show for the Great American Bash and a lot of the card is either set or all but set. They still have a few hours to get the rest of it ready and that should work out well, though I’m not sure how much they are going to put on the show. Samoa Joe still has people to choke out too so let’s get to it.
Opening recap.
Shotzi Blackheart/Ember Moon vs. Dakota Kai/Raquel Gonzalez vs. Io Shirai/Zoey Stark The winners get a Tag Team Title shot next week. Moon and Shirai starts in on Gonzalez, who runs them both over with straight power. Blackheart comes in to springboard armdrag Gonzalez but Kai makes the save. Everything breaks down and they all brawl on the floor, setting up dives from Shirai and Moon, followed by a heck of a springboard dive from Stark to take everyone out.
We take a break and come back with Gonzalez in control over Blackheart and Shirai, in..
