Longtime Injured NXT Star Wrestles Dark Match Before Monday Night Raw

Welcome back? An injury can take place at any time in wrestling and that is a horrible thing to see. Some of these situations can be a lot worse than others but it brings up the big question of when they will be back. You never can tell how long someone is going to be out of action and it can make for a special moment when they get back in the ring. Now we know the answer for a promising name.
According to PWInsider.com, NXT’s Tegan Nox wrestled a dark match against Toni Storm before this week’s Monday Night Raw. This was Nox’s first match since August 2020 when she suffered a torn ACL. The injury is Nox’s third torn ACL, following previous injuries in 2017 and 2018. There is no word on when Nox is expected to return either to NXT television or the ring.
Nox has all of the potential in the world. Check out how she can go in the ring:

WWE Announces Two Upcoming Title Matches

The big one and the really big one. The most important wrestling story over the last year and a half has been the lack of live wrestling fans due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There have been a few promotions running events with limited fans, but it is time to have the fans back at full force. That can make for some important changes, and now we know what WWE has planned for it, both before and after.
WWE announced a pair of upcoming title matches this week for both the July 12 and July 19 editions of Monday Night Raw. For the July 12 show, United States Champion Sheamus will defend his title against Humberto Carrillo. This will be Sheamus’ first match since May 31 and his first title defense since winning the title at WrestleMania 37 in April. Carrillo has defeated Sheamus in a non-title match.
The second match will take place on July 19, which will be the first Monday Night Raw to have a full capacity audience in over sixteen months. During the show, the Viking Raiders will challeng..

REVIEW: Fully Loaded 2000: Triple Decker

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Fully Loaded 2000
Date: July 23, 2000
Location: Reunion Arena, Dallas, Texas
Attendance: 16,504
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler
In addition to the main event title match with the Rock defending against Chris Benoit, we also have the Undertaker (now a biker) facing Kurt Angle and HHH vs. Chris Jericho in one of the earlier matches in a very long running feud. On top of that though there’s another match with a single moment that should receive a lot more attention than it does. Let’s get to it.

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage – July 5, 2021

Monday Night Raw
Date: July 5, 2021
Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida
Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves
We have two Raw’s left before both the return of fans and Money in the Bank, meaning that it is time to start kicking things into a higher gear. WWE needs some momentum on their way back into normal and I’m not sure if they know how to do that at the moment. We are also likely getting some more hard pushes towards the ladder matches so let’s get to it.
We open with MizTV with Miz and John Morrison in the ring. Miz’s guests this week will be the four entrants in the men’s Money in the Bank match, starting with Morrison as you might expect. Morrison says it is time for the Aquaholics to get soaked as he becomes Senor Dinero En El Banco. This brings out Drew McIntyre to say he has been fighting back to the title since Miz cashed in Money in the Bank. McIntyre recaps the Money in the Bank concept and since the show is in Texas, it is time for McIntyre’s His..

AJ Styles Had A Really Cool Exchange With Undertaker

That’s a special moment. There are a lot of wrestling legends but there are only a handful of wrestlers who are at the top of that list. Last year’s WrestleMania 36 saw the final match (for now) match of the Undertaker, who would certainly qualify as a top legend. Undertaker wrestled his last match against AJ Styles in the Boneyard match, which was quite the moment. It turns out that they shared another special moment.
During an appearance on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast, Styles mentioned that he wanted to give the Undertaker a special gift after the Boneyard match. Styles got in touch with Undertaker’s wife Michelle McCool, who said that Undertaker would appreciate the gloves that Styles wore during the match. Styles sent the autographed gloves to Undertaker, who sent Styles his gloves as well, along with a thank you letter for the match. Undertaker has not wrestled since the match, but has made appearances for WWE.
The match was one of a kind. Check out what happened in Un..

Vince McMahon Impressed With New Monday Night Raw Story

He’s a fan. There are certain people whose opinions matter in wrestling and then there is Vince McMahon. Whether it makes sense or not, McMahon’s seal of approval is often all you need to become a top star. McMahon has given his approval to more than a few stories over the years and still does to this day, including a new story that has started out on Monday Night Raw.
According to PWInsider Elite Audio, McMahon has become a fan of the Eva Marie and Doudrop storyline. McMahon was not a huge fan of the story in the first place but decided to give it a chance. During the first week, Doudrop stood up to Eva Marie and McMahon was sold on the idea, particularly the facials from both women. The story is expected to continue for some time to come.
Eva Marie made her return to Monday Night Raw on June 14, appearing with the yet to be named Doudrop. Instead of wrestling, Eva Marie had Doudrop defeat Naomi in her place. The following week, Doudrop stood up to her in a tag match, which the team..

WWE Had Their Eye On Top Free Agent

He’s made the radar. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster but at the same time, there are also a lot of talented wrestlers who are not in the company. WWE is constantly looking around for other wrestlers to bring in and some of them will catch WWE’s eyes a lot sooner than others. That was the case with one major star and WWE had some major plans for him.
According to Fightful Select, WWE was interested in signing Impact Wrestling’s Moose following his contract expiring earlier this year. The plan would have seen Moose debut on the main roster rather than going to NXT. However, Moose has re-signed with Impact Wrestling, who offered Moose a new deal before WWE was able to offer him a contract. There is no word on how long Moose’s new deal lasts.
Can you blame them? Check out what Moose can do:

Kenny Omega Is Having Some Injury Issues

The champ is aching. There are only a handful of wrestlers in the world today who are the top stars in their promotion. These are the kind of stars who are going to be the major focal point of their shows most of the time and that is because there is no one like them. It can be rather difficult to replace them if something happens, and now one of the bigger stars in the world is not doing so well.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AAA, AEW and Impact Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega has been dealing with a variety of injuries. However, Omega has been undergoing stem cell treatment and PRP therapy and is doing much better. Omega’s injuries include a “deep” bone bruise near his tailbone, an athletic hernia and banged up knees.
Omega currently holds three World Titles and has scheduled defenses for two of them. He will be defending the Impact Wrestling World Title against Sami Callihan at Slammiversary on July 17. Omega will also defend the AAA Mega Title on August 14 ..

How R-Truth Accidentally Won The US Title

You don’t see that very often. There are all kinds of wrestling matches taking place every single year, with WWE airing hundreds of matches plus every year. While the majority of these are not going to stand out all that much, every now and then you are going to see something that jumps off the page for some reason. This time, it involved a major and unplanned title change.
During a new interview with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, former WWE referee Mike Chioda told a story about R-Truth accidentally winning the United States Title. R-Truth was challenging Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Title on the January 29, 2019 SmackDown when he accidentally pinned Nakamura with a rollup. This was not the planned finish for the match, which was not supposed to see a title change. Chioda also said that Vince McMahon loved the surprise. R-Truth would go on to hold the title for thirty five days.
It was an interesting story. Check out the full interview, the match and some of R-Truth’s other..

WWE Makes A Last Second Scheduling Change

Maybe later. The WWE Network was a complete game changer for wrestling fans. After years of having to collect wrestling content on their own, fans could now have access to all kinds of material that they might not have seen in years. The service has since switched over to Peacock, but it is no less of an amazing option than it was before. However, we might have to wait a bit on a new special.
The latest episode of the WWE Icons series, focusing on Lex Luger, did not air on Sunday July 4 as scheduled. According to Wrestlinginc.com, the episode was delayed because WWE wanted a stronger lead in program before the show aired. There is no word on when the show will eventually air. It will include interviews with Ric Flair, Sting, Jim Cornette, Bret Hart and Luger himself.
Luger had a heck of a career. Check out what he has done in the ring:

FULL MATCH: Historic International Title Change

It’s a classic. WWE is an international company and the biggest wrestling company in the world. Its roster includes some of the most well known wrestlers throughout the world with names from a variety of countries. That can make for some interesting moments as you have some very unique pairings. WWE is taking a look back at one of the more international matches it has ever presented.
WWE has released the full match video of Kevin Owens vs. Finn Balor from Beast In The East. The match took place in Tokyo, Japan on July 4, 2015 and saw Balor defeat Owens to become the new NXT Champion. The special featured WWE wrestlers with Balor vs. Owens being the only NXT match. Balor would go on to retain the title over Owens in a ladder match at Takeover: Brooklyn in August of the same year.
These two had a nice rivalry. Check out the match and some more like it:

WWE Running Special Week Of Anniversary Programming

They’re worth another look. There have been some amazing moments in wrestling history but only some are still going to be remembered decades later. That is task to accomplish but when you find something that really hits that mark, you can absolutely feel it. Such a thing happened twenty five years ago this week and WWE is giving it a special look back all week long.
WWE has announced NWO Week, which will begin on Monday July 5. The week will include new NWO programming on Peacock/WWE Network, including:
The Best Of The NWO (Tuesday) X-Pac on The Bump (Wednesday) Kevin Nash on Broken Skull Sessions (Sunday) NWO week coincides with the debut of the NWO on July 7, 1996, when Hulk Hogan turned on WCW and became Hollywood Hogan at Bash At The Beach 1996. The group went on to dominate WCW for several years before moving on to WWE in 2002. The NWO was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2020.
There is a lot of history here. Check out some of the NWO’s moments:
