What could have been. There are all kinds of records and accomplishments in WWE history but only a few stand out above the rest. These are the moments and triumphs that are remembered for years to come and it can mean a lot to see one of them either reached or ended. Perhaps the most famous one cane to an end about nine years ago, but it was almost much sooner.

At WrestleMania 30 in 2014, the Undertaker’s 21-0 undefeated streak at WrestleMania came to an end. The Streak, which began in 1991, had seen Undertaker defeat several future Hall of Famers and win multiple World Titles at WrestleMania. However, in an interview with Ariel Helwani on BT Sport, Undertaker revealed that there had been other names considered to break the Streak. This included Vladimir Kozlov, as well as Edge, the latter of whom refused to do it because of his respect for what the Streak meant. Undertaker did not learn ..

We have some sad news to report today as WWE Hall of Famer, Arn Anderson’s son Barrett has passed away at the age of 37.
Anderson tweeted the following to share the news:
Last night my family suffered a loss that should never be felt by any parent.
Our older son Barrett passed away.
I am struggling to write this. Tell those you love that you love them.
Barrett was just 37.

It is unknown at this time what caused Barrett’s unfortunate passing.
Barrett’s brother, Brock, who works for AEW along with his father, shared the following words:
“I never thought of what to say in something like this because it’s not something you just have on stand by waiting for the day to come… Last night I lost my brother ..

It’s an interesting choice. It had been previously reported that Rey Mysterio will be given the ultimate honor within WWE, and become a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2023. But who will be the one to induct Mysterio?
According to a report from Dave Meltzer, former WCW superstar Konnan will do the honors of bringing Mysterio into the Hall of Fame.

Konnan was the most obvious choice because they have been close for decades, dating back to Rey and Konnan’s early days in the wrestling business. This might be Konnan’s first appearance at a major WWE event. Konnan wrestled briefly as Max Moon on non-televised matches in 1992 but those matches never aired and he left the company before the character debuted on TV with Paul Diamond playing the role.
Konnan will be inducting Rey into the Hall of Fame. Rey asked for him and the company approved it. As noted last night, to me it was the only choice.

He’s on their radar. The introduction of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works. Following decades of WWE dominating the industry, a new major promotion is now offering wrestlers another place to go. That can lead to some battles to land talent, and now we might be seeing that again with a very talented star who has recently appeared on AEW television.

Earlier this month, AEW presented its annual Face of the Revolution ladder match, which included AAA star Komander. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE contacted Komander both before and after he took part in the match. While WWE did not offer him a contract, they wanted to bring him in for a meeting. There is no word on if the meeting took place or if AEW is interested in signing him. It is not clear if Komander will be returning to AEW TV in the future.

He’s back. Any wrestler can go through all kinds of health issues during their time in the ring. These things can put them on the shelf for any length of time and there is often little that can be done about them. In addition to the in-ring issues, there are other health problems that can pop up every so often. That was the case again in a serious way for a wrestling legend, but now things are looking up.

In February, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry the King Lawler suffered a stroke at his home in Florida. Lawler was recovering in Florida and undergoing outpatient therapy but now, according to PWInsider.com, he has recovered enough to return to his other home in Memphis, Tennessee. There is no word on when Lawler, 73, is expected to make a full recovery from the stroke.

Yes or no? With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it is easy for a wrestler to get a bit lost in the shuffle. Someone can be off of television for a bit and almost be forgotten, which can make for some tricky situations. That can happen at almost anytime and it seems to be the case again with another star, but now they are disagreeing with reports about her status with the company.

Alexa Bliss has not wrestled since the Royal Rumble on January 28. According to both PWInsider.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bliss is on a hiatus from WWE, with PWInsider reporting that Bliss was not factored into the company’s plans after the Royal Rumble. Bliss has since responded to the reports, saying that she is not on hiatus and “they know where they can find me.” She also said that “you only see what parts of life I want you to see.” There is no word on when Bliss will return..

That would have been different. Three years ago, the Coronavirus pandemic turned the world upside down and things have only recently returned to mostly normal. There were several changes made to almost everything around the world, including WWE. The company kept going during the pandemic, but it turns out that one show almost did not get to wrap up.

The 2020 Money In The Bank event featured a unique version of the show’s namesake match, with both the men and women fighting at the same time at WWE’s corporate headquarters. The match concluded with a ring on the room and the briefcases hanging above. During a recent live signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions, former WWE star Nia Jax revealed that the Governor of Connecticut almost shut the match down, with police coming to the building. Despite that, WWE was able to finish filming and shoot the match as planned.

That is some work. There are all kinds of things that go into making a wrestler feel like a star and one of the biggest is their physical appearance. It can be rather impressive to see how much someone can change their physique over the years and how much work they have to put into the process. Now a WWE star is showing just how impressive his change has been.

Former WWE Universal Champion and current WWE star Braun Strowman has tweeted out a photo showing his physique from ten years ago compared to do. Strowman captions the photo by calling it a “decade of dedication” and using the hashtag “itsalifestyle” to explain the transformation. Strowman debuted in WWE in 2015 and is also a former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion.

Another. We are coming up on the four year anniversary of AEW’s first event with Double Or Nothing 2019. The company hit the ground running and has gone on to become the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. That is the kind of thing that can change the wrestling industry, and now it seems that we might be getting to see even more of AEW on a regular basis.

According to the Mat Men podcast, AEW and Warner Brothers Discovery are finalizing an agreement for a third weekly AEW television show, which would run for an hour on Saturdays. There is no word on when the show would debut or when/where it would be broadcast. AEW currently runs two weekly television shows with Dynamite and Rampage plus two weekly web series with Dark and Dark: Elevation.

That would be a different way to go. Legends can do a lot of good things in wrestling as they offer a variety of unique opportunities that regular stars cannot pull off. It can mean a lot to have a legend pop up in the right spot and that is still the case today in WWE. This time around, we might be in for a major story involving a past star mixing it up with a current top star.

Last month, Trish Stratus made a surprise return to help Lita and Becky Lynch win the Women’s Tag Team Titles. The three are now set for a six woman tag against Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 39. According to WRKD Wrestling on Twitter, the current plan is for Stratus to turn on Lynch and feud with her throughout the summer, leading to a match between the two at Summerslam. There is no word on when the turn will take place.
